[Q] SIM Re-Lock

Hi,
Does anyone know how to re-lock the SIM on Captivate? I need to reload the stock ROM and lock the SIM for warranty replacement of my phone.
Thanks in advance.
I believe once you reload the stock ROM, say using Odin one-click to JF6, your phone will be SIM locked again.
Again, I believe this is the reason why they recommend you write down your unlock code, because you'll have to go through the unlock process with every flash.
Thanks for your input but unfortunately once it's unlocked it will stay unlocked. I tried it many times myself flashing the 1-click Odin stock ROM.
I wrote down the unlock code. I actually just found this on a website but I am not sure if this will work. Wondering if anyone ever tried it...
*#7465625# = Check the phone lock status
*7465625*638*Code# = Enables Network lock
*7465625*746*Code# = Enables SIM lock
If I remember correctly, I believe I need to enable the Network lock....

Not true. I have flashed many ROMs and stayed unlocked. Am currently running Perception 4 without having to re-unlock.

After you get the NCK code using the method above, enter: *7465625*638*#
There will be a pop-up box.
Complete the first field (MCC/MNC) with the network you want your phone locked to (eg. 226 10 where 226 = romania; 10 = orange etc.) and the second field (Control Key) with the NCK extracted from the .bak file.
Press OK and your phone should relock.

NCK codes are different for each country/carrier. You will have to search for yours.

Thanks. I have the NCK code for my phone. Searched wiki and found this link.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code#U
It seems like AT&T's MCC/MNC is 310/410.
I will have to give it a try tonight.

sim unlock app for sgs phones.i used it and it works great! READ THE FRIGGIN INSTRUCTIONS make backups, backup your backups to PC and ext sd card, EVERYWHERE.
Must use method 2, as rogers phones dont have the code stored inside it. method 1 returns FFFFF, must do file swap method.

Try code from Online site If you cannot get that means try from Online sites.

Well, if its unlocked via imei, Im safe to unlock the bootloader... at least thats as far as I could gather by all the info scattered around.
To help narrow down the possible unlock method used, I can add that whenever the phone is rebooted, and there is a sim from a different Service Provider than the "original" one, it asks for a network unlock code. By tapping "skip" the phone then boots up and works just fine with any other Service Provider's sim.
This leads me to believe the phone was unlocked by other means than IMEI. And hence, all hopes of unlocking the bootloader are obliterated.

you must purchase a sim-unlock code. S-OFF/supercid/root will not sim-unlock the phone.
you must be as close as possible to 100% stock to use the unlock code. Anyway try it, if id doesn't work then go back to stock and re-enter the unlock code.

Thanks for trying to help me! The issue is, that there is no Unlock Code for this IMEI, I tried 5 differnt suppliers and noone could provide a code.
I guess the reason for that is the device is brand new...

in this case you could try the SIEEMPI method. The HTC ONE isn't listed on that page but many users reported that it works (in this thread)

I tried that, but I get an error when hit SIMLOCK, see screenshot. Also, the Config.dat file isnt there afterwards, tried to push it via adb to /root but it says "Read Only File-System". Am I doing something wrong? Transferred the file via usb on SD-Card and then copied it via ES Explorer to the root folder. Any Clue? Thanks.
Thats the error message.

the procedure is a bit different for the HTC One, you have to copy the .dat file to a fat32 hard drive connected to your phone with a usb Y-cable. take a look at the thread I have linked above, read the last few pages.

Have SiM Unlock Code - Need to flash RUU??

I have NonSense v1.03 on my cricket device. Called up Cricket recently and got the unlock code which I was unable to enter/use on the device as I never received the locked-provider prompt, only an sim icon with a lock once the phone booted up.
I thought this was due to the rom installed, upon searching on the forums, I found many threads where people were trying to unlock their CDMA devices, not much on GSM. That led me to find this post and the third post in this thread stating I need to re-lock the bootloader to flash the original RUU (RUU_A11_UL_K44_DESIRE_SENSE60_AIO_Aio_Wireless_US_1.11.506.8) file so I can proceed to enter the code and unlock the device.
So, are these the correct steps? Is there another way to bring up the prompt to unlock the device?

I don't know of any other way to bring up the prompt to unlock the device. So this might be your only solution.
Your steps are correct. Just follow the steps exactly from the posts you already found and you should be fine.
