Can you access Download mode? If yes, you are fine

Reflash your last kernel (same of your backup).
In recovery flash kernel
Reboot in recovery and flash your backup

i can get into download mode,i need a stock kernel i think, anyone got one, please.
It's the best to flash a complete stock ROM. You can get some on sammobile.com.
Otherwise you may flash Semaphore and try getting into recovery mode.

ok i've flashed CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS and restored a stock backup, now it is stuck on the galaxy s gt-9000

Hope this helps people with the same problem i had.

Hi,
I recently flashed a new rom (ultimate galaxy s v.7) from xda, and I flashed it via clockwork.
clockwork installed it and I rebooted, and it seemed to hang on the lockscreen for an abnormally long amount of time.
when i take the battery out and try to boot into recovery mode, it flashes to black then shows the galaxy s boot again.
previous to flashing this rom i have cleared the cache and all data on the phone. i have a nandroid backup so if i could get back to clockwork recovery this would be helpful.
also previous to flashing this rom i had a 3 UK rom which i installed by accident via kies, running 2.1...this rom seemed to be quite resistant to installing another rom from kies.
help would be MUCH appreciated...
thanks in advance
so recovery mode isnt an option then ?
What about Download mode ?
Hi,
Download mode worked before.
I have now managed by some miracle to get into recovery mode and now have gained options about a speedmod universal lagfix.
Is this associated with clockwork / ultimate 7.0 rom / a sign that the rom has installed in some form, and should i reboot, or should i now do a nandroid back to the rom i had before?
I believe speedmod uses CWM, so you can just do the rollback to your previous rom

however would it be safe to reboot, as i'm currently in recovery mode and considering to do a nandroid OR alternatively reboot and see if the new rom starts up..
well u cant leave it in recovery mode forever lol, reboot it, if it doesnt come on, try recovery mode again or just flash another ROM thru ODIN
ok. how long do you think is a reasonable time to wait before concluding that the rom doesn't work and I should nandroid back to my old rom...?
Half an hour gives plenty of time .
jje
what would be the reason that it hangs on the galaxy s bootscreen?
could be anything.... installing process not completed properly. best to just re flash .

do you mean recover via nandroid or reflash the same rom, then leave it?
choice is yours, ive never restored using nandroid so dunno what its like. but try it first, if no success re flash using odin. u will lose all your data
I was recently using Stunner ICS but decided I wanted to go back to stock and start over. I downloaded the stock N7000XXKJ4_N7000OXXKJ4 firmware and installed it through odin. I did not receive any errors on the phone or on my PC. But now it seems like my phone is stuck in a boot loop. It just keeps showing the samsung boot animation over and over. I used the download jig to get into download mode and tried redoing the firmware twice already with no luck. One thing I did notice is that the jig is no longer resetting the binary counter. Does anyone have any other ideas or is my phone possibly bricked?
This is supposed to be in Q& A section... Anyways... Did you try wipe?

What worked for me having the same problem recently is go to Recovery mode (Volume up + home + power) and you'll see this funny kinda recovery, not at all CWM Do a data wipe/factory reset and then reboot.
Same thing happened with me yesterday, wipe in recovery fixed the problem

I'm sorry. Mods please move to appropirate section.
Thank you guys. I was beginning to freak out. I was trying to do the recovery menu but couldn't get it to work. I thought the recovery menu was also hosed but I had the wrong buttons. All is good now! thank you so much!
First thing you need to do if you want to get back GB, flash abyss 3.9 redpill kernel.
After that flash GB rom.
So later you can flash whatever kernel you want

Hanging at Samsung logo; can't boot into recovery; am I bricked???
Hi guys...
I've been semi bricked for about 18 hours now. And it's starting to look like it's a full-brick.
I had the latest Gingerbread ROCKET ROM on my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, with the latest Franco kernel in place.
I thought I'd give the ICS version of ROCKET ROM a go. Flashed Abyss4.2 kernel without any hassles. Used 'advanced' to boot into recovery. Did my various wipes. Flashed the ICS Rocket Rom zip. And got caught up in the recurring boot-up, mostly upgrade, run, reboot cycle that's been described in many places.
Didn't panic.
Booted into recovery again, and flashed the ICS Rocket Rom again.
But this time, it wouldn't go past the SAMSUNG logo.
Still, I could boot into recovery.
Which I did.
And I tried to restore my Gingerbread build from Nandroid.
Tried it. But it hung on the Samsung logo again.
With one key difference... Now, no matter how much I try, I can't boot into recovery.
I *CAN* boot into 'download' mode. So I've used PC Odin to try and inject a rooted Gingerbread rom into the phone.
The instructions tell me to wait for the phone to reboot twice. Sadly, it tries its first reboot, and doesn't get past the Samsung logo. And that's where it hangs. No recovery mode either.
What shall I do??? Oh, woe is me. Etcetera.

UPDATE
--------------------------------------------------------
I found a version of Abyss 4.2 kernel in tar format. I flashed it via PC ODIN, and I now seem to have a phone that can boot again.
Not much more to report at the moment, cos the battery is on about 3%, so I'm charging it now before delving further. Will give more feedback once the battery's up and running again.
Here's a link to the Abyss file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1072122&d=1337500067
I tried all of this, was on stock ICS 4.0.3 and had it rooted.
I tried to restore a backup which was sadly on GB and then the restore of /data failed
I then tried to flash paranoid custom rom and it was successful but the phone never went any further than SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE GT-N7000 logo
I then Flashed a direct rootable stock rom via PC odin and all was well but the phone would never go any further than the logo before mentioned
I tried flashing AbyssNote kernel via pc odin but the CWM recovery menu kept on rebooting hence leaving me with not particular choice to select
Tried wiping data, cache mem, dalvik cache but no use and now i am on stock recovery menu. please help me out
i have this Samsung i9220 china i try to flash upgrade the firmware with Odin3 v1.85 . i got stock phone can't power non recover modem non booting logo , does anyone have any ideas ?
Hi. My last firmware was from late 2010 (it was a custom if it matters).
Now I decided to update to 4.0.4 and selected a CM9 firmware. I did as usually, made a backup, factory resetted and cleared cache.
Then after I updated to that new firmware my phone got stuck in the first boot screen where it says like "Samsung GT-I9000" etc.
I wasn't able to get to recovery mode but I managed to get to download mode and I flashed a 2.3.6 firmware which I believe was stock (got it from sammobile.com). However it didn't help as now I'm stuck in endless boot animation where the "S" flashes and sometimes it just starts the animation again but nothing else happens .
I tried installing another kernel, then installing the CM9 firmware but then it just boots endlessly to recovery mode.
Now I have the stock 2.3.6 firmware installed with nothing else, still can't get past the boot animation. Anyone could tell me what to do or is my phone a brick?
Is your phone rooted? Do you have cwm?

Firstly I don't think its bricked if you can access download and recovery mode ....
I recently did the following to fix everything wrong with my phone.
I flashed to a stock rom (gingerbread 2.3.3)using Odin, then rooted my phone again. Then I flashed darky's rom (GB 2.3.6). After that i flashed tiramislim 9 (ICS 4.0.4) & that worked out for me. Hope i helped.
guys a had some really bad time running into this faulty ICS ROM and den by fault bricking it.
then after searching for hours i found this post by forest1971 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26285877for unbricking GNOTE by repatitioning the internal sdcard after finding faulty bricked blocks.
as i could not reboot into recovery.
so i used one of the PIT files provided in his post and flashed it via PC ODIN to revive my bricked GNOTE.
later i was able to get into recovery.
then i thought of flashing STOCK jelly bean DDLSC 4.1.2 ROM and i was able to flash it easily via PC ODIN.
then i phone rebooted and got stuck on samsung jelly bean BOOT screen.
i waited for hours for it to start(pass that boot screen) but all in vain.
SO now i ma stuck at the BOOT screen so can any1 please help me and tell me what to do now??
first try flash safe kernel, use philz kernel, flash it from recovery(.zip) or pc odin(.tar) reboot recovery, and make full wipe..reboot your phone..
if still stuck on bootloop.
maybe TW Rom is to big for you now, try flash Slim Bean
Just make sure you have safe kernel+cwm first.

first of all thanks for replying that fast..
and second thing is that i am not in a bootloop instead my phones just stuck at the samsung BOOT screen.
somehow if i keep rebooting again and again i get to pass that BOOT screen but then my phone would get stuck at "android is upgrading" screen or it pass that too then it would freeze at those startup wizard configuration mostly at the wifi page.
Also i did try to install paranoid 3.15 and had the same result (stuck at bOOT screen) so i think i mean i think (not much of an expert in this kind of stuff) the size is not a problem.
and also i have flashed this safe PHILZ kernel for DDLSC which i am using now.

reboot in download mode if you can and use pc odin to flash the ASOP ROM like supernexus 2.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076697
this may resolve the issue.

yes i can reboot into download mode.
but the thing is that i have flashed this stock DDLSC ROM and i was able to make it run by rebooting system 3-4 times
but later on it would freeze after like 10-20 seconds and then i have to reboot the system again and
the ROM will start but again freezes within 10-20 seconds of startup.
so please help me to get rid of dese freezes.
PS- ill try flashing this supernexus 2 ROM lets see what happens
Hey!
I've flashed kernel and firmware on my Note successfully several times, but now I encountered a problem:
I'm on Asylum_CM10.1_20130311_n7000 ROM and was using Asylum_CM10.1_20130311_n7000 kernel, all working fine.
Then I flashed a new kernel, HydraCoreNirvana Kernel for Galaxy Note GT-N7000. After this I've been in hell, every time I try to start/boot the phone, it jams on the Asylum startup animation. I tried both from the SD and when the phone wouldn't start, via Odin. Then I tried flashing back to the working kernel above, no help. Now I'm stuck with two non-working kernels and a useless phone. I hope I haven't ruined it already...
I was flashing with the instructions @ rootgalaxynote. com
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please, I'm drunk and freaking out with this phone (I know 1st world problems).
Do a wipe data in recovery (if u can go to) or ODIN. Then try to see if the phone boots, if it doesn't you can do a clean install of Asylum ROM again. If nothing works(!) Go back to flash a stock ROM via ODIN and then use Philz kernel to re-root.

Tried all that (went straight to stock). No help, I guess somethings gone wrong with the boot sequence, I flashed Philz kernel and now it loops on the samsung animation. Before, it sometimes showed "Android is upgrading 1/83 (or something similar), the number would go up a while, then the start-up animation again and all over again from 1/83. It always seems to jam on the ****ing animation... Gonna jump off the roof.
