I tried to flash my rooted LG P970 to install cm-10,1. The phone showed immediatel : Security Error and became unresponsive.Any attempts like battery removal got no change. Can anyone help?

And please dont use a PATCHED V30 version! DONT!!!!! use a patched V20! This will unbrick it, boot to recovery right after and you ll only have to wipe everything and flash the new ROM

1. Turn off ur phone
2. Plug in the usb holding vol +/- button...u ll enter s/w mode
3. Then SFT will detect ur phone and flash any fls/bin files

It just boots for a second . Gives LG security error and switches off.

I'm rather sure you have problems with reading.
- turn your OB off
- remove the back
- take the battery out
- hold vol+ button and plug USB in
It is not always needed to remove the battery but it helps sometimes especially when nothing else works, had it once myselfe where that was the only way I could get into SW upgrade mode.

Same problem here, phone is completely dead.
When holding the power button, nothing is happening.
Also not when removing battery, holding VOL+ and inserting the USB cable.
I think, I need to send it to the service center.

If OB is doing nothing at all it's a hard brick => service.
If OB's screen is showing something like 'security error' it's a soft brick => you can do a lot (like 'sw update' and use SFT)
So it's a difference of more than 5$.

My captivate which was on 2.3.3 gingerbread
I want to perform a master clear which will bring it back to eclair .!
So here is wht i do
Download drivers
Download one click master clear
Open odin
Put phone in downloading mode
When odin shows that yellow box of connectivity then press star
After procedure was completed and at&t logo was appear then take out usb cable
From that moment it is stuck on boot loop and i am unable to put it into downloading mode
All these methods i have used
Vol down + volume up + power
Vol down + volume up + usb cable
Volume down + power button
Volume up + power button
Battery remove, volume up + volume down then usb cable and then usb cable
But all of these methods are not working it only shows battery icon on screen .!
Plz help on this and i do not know how to use abd reboot download mode .!

frist i am sorry about my bad english
second i want to say i have a very complicated problem
i upgrat from v10 to v20
then i root
then i played in some system files
anyway the problem is , when i restarted the phone it gave me a lg logo then a balnk screen
anyway lets go to the important part
1-I try to install kdz but..........i cant put the phone in the upgrat mood because when pres vol- and put the usb it give me a strang colour
and computer dont identify the phone
so i say lets try power key and vol- and i success to open the robot with the red trangile and i try all choises but the same problem
but but wait
i discoverd something can help me
and he is
the computer identify the phone only when i select the ADB from the menu of the robot with the red trangile
so anyway to flash kdz with ADB TOOL
and any ideas
PLEZZZZZ I NEEEEEED HELPP

I got the same problem. screen keeps turning grey after few seconds in S/W mode.
I had the same problem. reinserting the battery when in sw-upgrade mode helped for me.

I'm trying to install a new baseband and have folllowed the guide from the all in one tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737
My problem is that when i take out my battery and connect the phone with vol - pressed down nothing happens I have installed the drivers and all that. I did this half a year a go and it worked fine but now i doesnt.. Im on CM10.1 - tonyp - T-Build 03, new bootloader with kowalski kernel exp123.
Does anyone know what to do?

Sorry you think wrong. For smart flash only press volume down bottom while connecting via USB.
Try another USB port, or try on old bl
i think it's my fault, but maybe i can do something to unbreak it?

i downloaded the latest build from this rom:

when first i entered CWM and wiping everything, i try to flash the rom, but the installation aborted with 'error 7'
so i look for error 7 in google, and get into this video which explain how to bypass it:

i did exactly what he said, and remove the assert till the ' ; '
after that i ziped it back and send it again to my phone, and again get into CWM.
the installation went OK.
it said so .
i did a reboot, but then the phone didn't power up.
he is very dead
is it final, or i can do something to revive it?

Status 7 error is due to a corrupt rom file. Download the rom again, place it on sd card & flash again.

i can't.
as i said, the phone is dead.
i can't power it on.
no matter how long i press on the power button, it does not help, and the phone does not power on.
Download Official firmware from samfirmware,Go into Download Mode,Using Odin Flash the mobile.
It may works..

thanks, but it doesn't work.
although i don't have odin installed, i tried to push all the buttons in the instructions, and insert the battery, but still the phone is dead...

yes.
before it bricked, it has sort of 50 percent battery.
but also after it bricked, it was attached to computer with the usb cable, for a couple of hours...

try removing batt, plug the phone to a computer (dont put the batt back) then hold Volume down + Power + Home, then do the flashing in odin.

not working, because after i insert the battery, and start odin, it don't recognize any device that connected to the computer.
but, if i press the Volume UP + home + power, it install USB drivers of the phone, and in odin i see that it know that something is connected to the computer in: com 39.
but i cant flash the firmware, because it's stuck on setup connection...

Downloading mode is volume down+home+power & in doing this, you must see downloading written in yellow letters on your screen. Then you're good to go.

check that have you installed the USB driver ? because it matters a lot...

If it connects to the PC then first rectangle becomes yellow.
