Hey guys,
Is there a official froyo release for the Galaxy S?
I am not sure about this because i read different things on the net.
And if there is one ... how do i install it?
I tried to install the f**cking thing of a software called Kies.
The installation always gets aborted So, currently i am pretty stucked.
not yet
you have to wait, deadline is close
Do i get informed by my phone when it is availible?
And what seems the be the way it gets installed? OTA? Or do i have to flash it with Kies, which can't be installed on my system?

Model: GT-i9000
Current Version: PDA:JFB / PHONE:JF5
This Device's Version cannot be updated.
Its driving me nuts waiting for the update.

Patience is the key here. The updates will come sooner than later but the release dates will vary on the region you are in. the latest one has come for UK.

I doubt they would release a major upgrade on a saturday.
It will probably come out next monday.
And since next week is the last week of september, I have high hopes samsung didn't lie to everyone and we will be seeing it then.

First of all i bought my first Android phone about 10 days ago, so I'm new to this world. I want to update my P880 to jelly bean, but I'm too paranoid to use root. The update should be out by now, so my question is: is it really out, and if it is can i update my phone directly without my pc suite? Also, i want to Know if there is a way to flash a rooted phone to the original version?

You don't need root to flash.
You can re-flash your original room.
Read more about root, battery drain and how to flash.
There are several methods, choose the best depending on your needs.
Be sure that you know what you're doing before you start.

Nope, the official release isn't here yet. And yes, you don't need your PC to update your phone providing that you have decent Internet connection. You can always go OTA, it's available right in your phone setting.
As of flashing a rooted phone, you can actually unroot it, without the hassle of reflashing your phone . There's a feature in the app for you to do so.
Anyway, you don't need to root your device to get JB, just download the kdz and flash it with kdz updater. The walk through is in general thread. A word of caution though, rolling back to ICS might be quite a task.
Btw, what regional rom are you on now?

Wrong, go back to ICS is easier as any other flash. The difference is that needs to be done with LGFlash Tool. Takes about 5 minutes, less than with kdz.

you're probably on south-east asia, the dealers from serbia & bosnia seem to be getting the phones from the same place, as i had 10e aswell.

Well, only God and LG know when it'll be released.
You might want to check your phone software version in phone setting then go to this website http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15 to see if your room is the latest

I've just received a 2nd OTA update. It was only 1.23mb and I have no idea what it does. Anyone else receive this??

Just checked my software update on the handset and it can tell that I have rooted the phone so says I have to check via kies so I guess that I will need to get that sorted out before lollipop drops.

Same here Eddster :highfive:
SM-N910C no new updates.
Yup, I think it's a minor bump from NJ1 to NJ4, only Samsung knows for sure what is included. I think for some regions their main post-launch update was NJ4. BTU (UK) got NJ1 and NJ4
Hi Guys,

Downloaded. Wouldn't install. Now not showing as available or on the phone at all. Great!!
Android 5.0 system update downloading too
Hey Mick,
Im in the UK too and had the system update available pop up and are now downloading the 479.5mb file.
My Nexus was also purchased sim free and is running stock rom with root courtesy of cf autoroot.
Now to decide if to install it straight away or not. I need to read the other posts regarding losing root and how to maintain phone and app data.
Received it lastnight and updated immediately. Very happy with it apart from the lockscreen music widget removed by Google.
My wife's N5 OTA just arrived this evening and has completed its update.
I've Sideloaded mine on day one.[emoji12]

Downloaded and re-rooted with Wugfresh. No problem at all.
Old nexus 7 received the OTA today, but nothing yet on my nexus 5 ? purchased through three...
Nothing. Bought via google UK store....

We already have a thread about receiving the OTA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/recieved-ota-t2939041
As OTA rollouts aren't location specific, I don't see the need for another thread.
Closed.
But No Update .. Why Not Pushing Out 6.0.1 Update For Tab S 8.4 LTE Only
Other Tab S Pushing Out Update .... Why ?
Have to wait till someone gets/finds the firmware download and tells them about it till then you are out of luck.
Hi there,
I am in Germany and own a SM-T705. I have been checking for updates since end of August, but I only receive the "the latest updates are installed already" popup. I'll keep trying, but I think the report on that website might have been premature or they mixed up the two models.

^nope nothing new, expect the update last quarter of this year or early 2017
I got the update on my Verizon model so I would assume the non-carrier updates are rolling out as well if not soon.
