Hello,
I started using CM9.m then I've found out about Kernel, and discovered Hydracore, a great kernel BTW, but I've realized that it had some battery issues:
1. It heats a LOT and it's the STD version, no OC;
2. While I'm using it, the screen is on, the battey just DRAIN, like in 3 hours I'm totally discharged;
3. When I use for a little while longer, like 15 minutes, the battery drain as usual (a lot), then when I stop the battery "charge" again. Like, if I stop use in 9% a few minutes later I find the Note with 11%, without even conecting to a power source;
4. The transitions are more fluid, does that has some relation with butter project?
5. Has anyone a battery saver Kernel, like Speedmod, for CM9.1?
Here goes a Screenshot that shows the "issue".
Can anyone explain?
Change governer and scheduler.
For me lulzactive and noop does the job.

Can any one help me to find the best kernel available for Ics rc 4.2 ?
I have tried glitch, semaphore and of course the stock one .
But I face serious issues with battery life . Android os eats plenty of battery and the battery is always dead in 6 hours !
Thank you in advance .

Which version?
I searched around and people are telling that 14.2 led is best !
And which governor should I use? generally I use ondemand and lagfree without OC.

Try using smartassv2 or conservative.
OK.
Thanks.

Semaphore 0.9.0 is very very stable. I'm using it on RC 4.2 on SGS-I9000 and it looks like the most fluid at all.Best balance between Battery/performance.

rightly said..RC4.2 in itself was quite laggy..atleast in my observation..i flashed semaphore 0.9.0 recently and suddenly its as smooth as anything..i use smartassv2..
battery life looks good..no FC reboots etc so far! wayyy better than stock kernel.
I'm also using ICSSGS RC4.2 with Semaphore 0.9 (smartassV2 governor), and the battery life is quite good.
Bu I observed that data connection and screen consume a lot of battery. With data disabled, and a normal use, my battery lasts about 2 days. But if I enable data, the battery lasts just a day. And if I use it (check facebook, twitter, reader, that-is-to-say, if my screen is on), the battery is empty in the afternoon.
Do you have your data enabled all the time ? I think this is the component that uses the more the battery..

I have already tried that kernel .
And no data is not enabled all day but for some part of the day.
I know that thing eats battery. But in my battery usage it shows "Android OS" keeps my phone awake. And that is the reason the main reason the battery dies quickly!!

You should try semaphore 0.9.1
Now I'm trying it, it has good battery life and for now I don't see any bug
I hope to help you.
Please recommend me kernel for long battery life. Some time ago I had Cyanogen nightly with very good battery life, but then I decided to try ICS ROM, which appeared very laggy for me. So I installed fresh nightly (April, 6) and its drying battery very fast.
I'll try to install fresh nightly, but maybe it's better to install some other kernel?
By the way which governor do you guys prefer?
HWA is a battery hogger. Use juice defender (paid) or green power (free) for extra battery life. I use green power and i get one day with normal usage. BCM and Texas ice roms use kernels based on tiamat kernel. That's the only ICS kernel available as of now. Smartassv2 governor with oc max 1113, min 384
Sent from my icy cool nexus
For Gingerbread, try a kernel from Tiamat, Pershoot, or Wildmonk. Search on Nexus One Dev forum for more info.
Use smartassv2 governor. Try min 128 Max 998 for good battery life with good performance (set in cm7 performance settings, or use setcpu).
If your phone is hard to wake then try increase the min upwards from 128. Personally I have no issues running my phone using 128mhz min.
Up the Max if you want to experiment with overclocking, but I don't advise going above 1113.
Hope this helps.

That depends what you want. In use interactivex from Huexxx's kernel. Just Google governors and you will find the differences

Just easily search xda, its great forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663809
And in some words, as far as im concerned:
InteractiveX - battery friendly, not so aggressive like smartassv2, with low freq available (like 100mhz) you can experience sods or wakelocks.
Smartassv2 - good with performance, good with battery
OndemandX - just switch to highest freq and then wait for your activity (to lower freq or not). I think its most stable, second is Smartass, and third Interactive.
Im using InteractiveX, because without using, screen off, battery is just draining perfectly, like 1% per 2-4 hours. (boype's cm7)
Gonna test InteractiveX.
Thanks

You're Welcome (de nada )
Mine is LG Optimus Black, Zeus ROM 6.39 version
On full charging with plugged in, it is showing 100% battery stat and message showing battery charged full
But on removing charging plug, it is showing 98% only...
What to do, any problem ?
Why don't Huexx include full Battery and low battery alert and Touchpal keyboard and other swype option keyboards?
Please suggest him to include like these better features, because he listens the words of Senior Members like you...
Firstly, android is such an open system just to let ppl install what they want, so pre-installing any keyboards is against that... everyone has own favourite keyboard/launcher/etc.
About this battery: it is probably caused by too high charger voltage. Battery has its own specification and as far as im concerned, our chargers arent best ;p try to pull battery, wait some minutes, then put it back and see how many % you have and then charge it to the end... idk if it helps, but i tried to do such things and i had 100% charged battery...
With the InteractiveX governor, I have my system up for almost 2 days and still 40% battery. Excelent. That's exactly what I want.
This is my first post . I have been searching about battery drain issues from about 2 months. Yes ! two months ! now I found it better to ask it myself. I have a GT-I9000 with 1650mA Samsung's battery, the problem is that , one point drains in around 3 - 4 minutes maximum. I am using CM10.1 , i have tried about a thousand roms , several kernels just checking for the battery life . On stock gingerbread rom i usually get 5 minutes for a single point with wifi and cellular data OFF . Now I am really exhausted trying different roms and kernel ( flashing 10 times a day and sticking to my phone checking battery , is really now pissing me off ). All I want to know is that ? Is this okay ? 3 minutes for a single point on jellybean roms and 5 minutes on gingerbread ones ? tried every kernel no oc no overclock , nothing. Is it about more cpu usage on jellybean roms ? what should i do now i really am pissed off totally. how many minutes does it take for your phone for a 1% to drop ?
If you use your phone, then it's normal that 1% drop per 3-5 minutes but if it's in sleep, well then its draining fast so i think your battery is broken.

No,when its in sleep mode 1% takes 3hrs approximately. But can you explain that why i am experiencing a large differnce on CM10.1 or SuperNexus 2.0? I tried almost every kernel .

try new cyancore kernel by mr ts, not promoting, juz it seems keeping smoothness will drain battery, try first n post a result after a day or 2 usage, n this time, please provide screenshot for battery stat.

Its normal to experience less battery on JB roms because JB as a whole is a more demanding version of Android. Project Butter- 60fps hardware acceleration- while making the phone buttery smooth, is definitely going to take a toll on both the processor and in turn the battery. There are SO many things in Jelly Bean that will definitely have a significant impact on your battery life, compared to stock Gingerbread.
I've had cases where I've drained almost all my battery just setting up my phone.
As compacity said, choose a rom and a kernel that you think you like, give it a few days (charge/discharge cycles more rather) and then post a screenshot of your battery stats. Once you install a rom in needs time to calibrate, which is done through the charge/discharge cycles. You might fnd that you actually have pretty good usage
Oh, and when you do take your screenshot, just for clarity please state whether you've underclocked, changed governor etc.

Well I'm on stock most of the time because I'm out and about quite often so I need some pretty stable battery life...
But some pretty good combos I've had (and do remember that these are only prsonal results, you will have to try them yourself- it does take trial and error)
Roms:
-RemICS-JB
-Liquidsmooth
-Gamerzrom
-EXTRAordinary
-Slim Bean
Kernels:
-Semaphore
-Mackay
-Latrop
But again, purely personal experimenting and flashing. Those are only what I've gotten decent/good battery life with before

As the name suggests, Opened this thread just to know What governor+scheduler combination you guys prefer to get the ultimate battery with performance?
Post the details with SS of battery stats and the kernel name.
Starting with me, I use Ak 600 = Smartmax + Row. Always!
Will Post SS soon.

R18 has the best battery life for me, I dunno why :\ Trying the new test version so gonna see what it's like.
But a suggestion....
If you looking for a smooth fast and balanced profile...
Nothing beats semaphore...
Ondemand + Noop...easily 4 hour sot...
with killer performance
helps me love my rom more
Stock CM12 kernel (Ondemand + row)
3-4h sot, heavy usage

Will definitely try.
So what governor you considerer the best?
I'm running franco213 with cfq and interactive. Depending on my usage I get anywhere from 3h to 6h SoT.
