Hey im a rather inexperienced flasher.. but I can manage my way around the tech terms...
anyway, I love these AOKP roms... but I have some issues, one is that I am losing root access, it keeps saying 'unable to update binary count'
next issue, video playback.. every video i play ( i tried MX player and MOBO player) stutters and is slow..
any help would be really appreciated.
the root access issue was temporarily solved by going back to hydracore v3 .. but i would love to use the hydracore v4.3, sadly i loose my root everytime i use this...
the video play is an issue on both kernels.. the rom i use is Jellycore..
Also, i read that usb mass storage was removed from jb build aokp roms, if so, any way to transfer stuff from my pc to my phone?? the normal connection somehow doesnt connect to my pc...
for now, i have shifted to kd v8 rom, but i really really want to use jellycore..
thanks for any help in advance
For root, download the Supersu flashable zip (you'll have to find it) and flash it right after you flash 4.3.

to start off, i had my device rooted, running CM7 nightly now but i lost the google maps apk and cant download it from the market, my PC wont recognise my handset as a mass storage- i plug the usb in and it just charges.. and i also lost the ability to play various video formats such as divx.. says its not recognisable??
Please forum , since im pretty new to android and rooting(havent rooted it myself tho),id just like to get acces to these things i mentioned.. TY..
Edit: i'd appreciate any input how to fix that..
Try the Rom "Zeus by Huexxx" 6.22, it's stable and fast. Your CM7 can cause problems and is not recomendable for beginners.
Read carefully Huexxx's first post and follow minutely detailed his instructions! Other stuff like Maps you will find in his second post and in his customation tool ZeusTweaker inside the ROM.
Regards.
i see.. i heared that this build was unstable but after having it flashed.. so TY and ill try to do exactly as u recomended! cheers!
P.s: is there a stabile cm7 rom that i could use instead of zeusshuexxx, id like to stick with cm7..?
about the missing Google apps, no rom from Cyanogen comes with those, you have to flash those separately, 'cause Android it's free source but Google apps no, so they are avoiding legal issues, search for the version right for you, If you can't find it let me know, I have a zip but it's like 2 months old, you may find a more recent one.
Also, if you are a Titanium user, I highly recomend to restore apps+data only, not system data, 'cause that causes a lot of inestability
So as the title states, this is regarding the AOSP ROM 4.2 Jelly Bean, I installed it and it seemed to be working fine until I actually tried something, the wifi didn't work so I tried installing the fix, I plugged it to the PC and nothing happens, it doesn't even charge, tried 2 different laptops and 2 different PC's. So I sent the fix over through bluetooth and installed it, the wifi isn't working eitherway, so I guess that there is no point of using the phone since I can't really get a single app, I want to install a 4.1 or the default XXJW4 2.3.6 gingerbread version and I'm wondering how do I do that now when the usb isn't working, also note that I've done nearly 50 ROM installations and I have never ever had a problem before, this is the first time. What should I do? Is there a fix for this? If not, how do I downgrade? Please help, ASAP, my beloved SGS i9000 is useless atm and It's nearly making me cry (well not obviously, but yeah, I need help) Best regards, thanks in advance.

your phone can go to download mode? if can should not have any problem for flash to 2.3.6 GB, if you wan to flash 4.1 JB you can copy the ROM to your ExtSDCard and boot to recovery and flash the rom for extsdcard or you can use filemanager to move the ROM(File) to you int.SDcard and flash from recovery.
BTW which AOSP 4.2 you are using? if from pawitp you can try this my one is working and i try it many time and having the same result .
if now your are on the same partition layout as CM10 stable, follow the step below
1) Flash the rom 4.2 (20121125) following all the step given by the guide
2) Flash Google Apps
3) reboot phone to normal (turn on wifi if not working then go to step 4)
4) Reboot to cwm and flash wifi fix without wipe
holp this will help. :good: enjoy

Hey there guys! As the title says , i am a bit confused with this new android version for our kick-ass phone. The thing is , everywhere i look there are so many pro and cons on this. I am curently on CM7 temasek vers , and i am pleased with it , except the random signal drop and refusing to call sometimes aaand the all known airplane mode bug , other than that, which are fixed most of the times with an reboot , everything else works fine. Now , my question is did any of you guys (talking about the devs) managed to made a stable version of the new relase ? There are so many new things around (versions i mean) that have to be installed with i dont know what application through usb and things and not the classical .zip file on SD and install from boot , you guys know what im talking about. Anyways sorry for the long post and i hope some of you guys can tell me clearly what the heck is going on.

If you were looking for info on the CM10 there is a USER THREAD available for your question.
you should do some reading and find out whats best for you.
if you want something stable and decent i would recommend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038631
make sure you smart flash v28 or v30 BB ril is installed with the rom. and you need to be on the new partition.
i would recommend to install Topo's v28 rom using his NVflash (this will set your phone up on the correct partition system, and will allow you to smart flash your baseband without having to revert to v20 roms.
you should be able to use the tool kit in my sig also to do what your looking for.
Carburano and Topogigi did a great job modding the rom and kernel, its really fast and smooth. i've only found minor bugs that dont effect the usability of the rom. and depending on your BB most folk have not reported any radio issues.
the only problem you will have is a nandroid backup of your current rom (if you wish to restore it) you will need to revert your partition system before hand.
and also make sure you take a Titanium backup of your apps/ games, and use the migration option to restore them to ICS, because, your current data will not restore properly on a stock rom. since i noticed your using CM7.
Necrowakker answered your question very well, I'm also running DjangoManouche and it's awesome! I only know about two bugs that aren't major ones, but I don't know if it has others. The first bug is an audio issue, when you reach the middle of the volume that's actually the maximum and if you keep going up it will start from zero, it is actually not a big issue because the audio is as loud as you would expect, you just have to leave the volume up to the middle, and the second bug I know about is about the radio, I think is only with the King of Birds kernel, when you turn off the screen the radio stops, but I haven't face that since I don't really listen to the radio anyways.
So, as you can see there aren't any major issues here, so I totally recommend it and it's faaaaaast!
You can flash it via the cwm, but you have to be running an ICS rom fist, so you can have the new partition and the new bootloader.
For flashing the v30a kdz, rooting it and installing cwm I recommend you this tool kit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737 But be aware, you must make a backup first (you can do it directly in the toolkit) of your internal sd card since going to v30a will erase your all your data.
This is the method I used to update to v30a: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35193678&postcount=5 with that same Tool kit you can flash cwm and root it, it's extremely easy.
Hope it helps.
Thanks man , i got everything i need donwloaded and even started to do it buuut i have one problme , after instaling a CWM vers for it and following all the steps now im stuck with an internal card (emmc) apparently that i can not mount and since i have my ROM zip there and BB thingy as well , i cant do anything , nor that toolkit so any ideas on how can i fix it ?
I think i have kinda bricked my phone lol.
Heres what i`ve done :
1.Download everything i needed , the ROM , the BB file (V30) , the toolkit (AIO-P990 toolkit)
2.Added the ROM.zip file in the phone ready to install the ROM
3.Changed the partition size for ICS and such with the toolkit , everything went fine , i was excited
4.Gone in recovery to install the ROM and this is where the unexpected happenend , i couldnt acces my internal SD , the phone memory (cant mount emmc) or something ..and now i am stuck :<
Found the soultion , apparently it was me all the time (thats new , right?) my SD card cant be opened for some reason , prolly because i got it from a friend and it just fitted and i was able to add things on it , anywayz i`ve used another SD card from some other phone and managed to put the ROM.zip on it and add it to my phone .. now its installing , yay so yeah , no more help needed , thanks for the reply tho guys , much love ! Oh my god i`ve just installed it and it is awesome !
Thread moved. Please post all your questions here in Q&A in future. Remember asking for help is still asking a question.
Thanks

Which ROM are you currently using? If it's cyanogenMOD than you should know that it doesn't have that feature at all.
im on slim..just want to know if when going back to ics if i do it like i flash any rom? (with recovry) or do i need to reflash threw odin?
I just did this to test something, lost everything including internal sd card. I believe it had to do with the partition differences between ics and jb. Had access to recovery but had to buy an external sd card as the phone wouldn't boot and was seen as an unknown device in xp so using odin was out of the question. Got an ics rom on the external sd and flashed via recovery but said something about the encryption process was interrupted and everything needed to be wiped. Hope this helps some but backup what you need before flashing.
First flash your mobile with 3-file stock gingerbread firmware using odin... then flash a custom rooted kernel using odin again... later you can install cm9 from recovery in cwm...
Hi guys, just wondered if it was possible to get flash working on my rooted galaxy note.
im currently running on rocket rom v2
If i remember rightly, there was a way to install flash and then run it, but i cant remember how it was done.
any help would be great.
For those wondering why i want it, i like to have bets on bet365 and watch the horse racing, but if i go on bet365 via the web, it comes up straight away telling me to update flash, which i obviously cant do
download this
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.36/install_flash_player_ics.apk
and install as a normal apk.
open stock browser and enable plugins.. try any flash website to test or use http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
works on stock browser. not many others

You can install the versions you want from here. Go to Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives section in the page.
