i have 2 questions:
1. I have the Stock/Unrooted Samsung Galaxy Note N7000, and recently, the Software Update Widget Icon, has the letter "N" on the top right corner.
I thought maybe there was some update, but I checked for update, and it says that the device is up to date.
Any ideas?
2. Usually when I flash with Stock Os for another region, i could still update from kies if there's any available update but currently i have
PDA: N7000XXLRQ
PHONE: N7000XXLRK
CSC: N7000DBTLRQ
Build Info: Tue Aug 28 15:48:42 KST 2012
but when i connect to kies, it says software could not be upgraded via kies
any ideas?
When Kies says that it's because you changed your phone's country original rom and you didn't change the csc.. Safest way to change csc its from gb at it does perform a full wipe and wiping from ics stock kernels its not safe. This means that your csc and rom's country must match.. Eg. If you flash a German Rom you gotta change the csc to dbt

Hello! Last week I tried many firmwares but I decided to restore the original one using KIES.
To restore the stock firmware I downgraded to JF3, than used Kies's test mode to update.
After having turned the phone on I went in the info section of the settings and I get these data:
2.1-update1
I9000XXJM2
Kernel version 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
ECLAIR.WXJM3
How can be possible that after 2 odin flashes and a kies upgrade I still have root? How can I remove it if I have to send it back for warranty? Thank you very much... have a nice day!
I forgot to say that I used the CSC CSC_I9000HUIHUI that I have found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7822645&postcount=167)
Where are you from? i didnt think JM3 was available over Kies anyway? try flashing again and check re-partition in Odin.
i used the JM1 from here:
https://www.wuala.com/Samsung Galax...ginal Firmwares/Europe/July/?key=AfzUZSU4SpKU
and it worked fine with no root, make sure u flash CSC, PDA and MODEM
I am Italian... and I updated using Kies_1.5.1.10071_32
you cant have flashed properly, read the steps in the BIG FAQ under app development in this forum. or just do what i said above
I flashed using re-partition, with
s1_odin_20100512.pit
CODE_I9000XXJF3_REV03_LOW.tar
MODEM_I9000XXJF3.tar
CSC_I9000OXAJF3.tar
than I updated via kies
I don't think the "root" in the build details means you have a rooted phone - I believe it's because it was compiled by someone logged in as root on a computer at Samsung. Root on your phone is really just a matter of having the su command and the Superuser Permissions application.
Do you have that application? If you run a terminal emulator and type su, does it work?
I didn't try the su command also because I didn't have the the app in the list. Anyway this is very strange!
I agree this isn't strange at all really, you should only be worrying about this when you actually need to send it in for prepare anyway

What is your kenel version?
Does anybody know how can I change it?

is your phone rooted too?
Rooting your phone has nothing to do with that '[email protected]' string. That is from the firmware developers, probably was there on the JF3 firmware you put on, or was given because you used the test mode.
Rooting your phone doesn't change that [email protected] or [email protected], it is absolutely irrelevant. Your phone is not rooted unless you did it yourself.
is that a problem when you send it for warranty?

Probably. You have installed an experimental beta firmware. But again, it always depends on the guy at the shop.

Happy now?
Close Thread this is winding me up repeating over and over
thank you!
Hi people. I unrooted my Note using one of Dr Ketans stock roms and PC Odin. All good. Next connected to Kies to see if I could update. Kies recognised the phone but said that by phone can no longer be updated via Kies. Is that how it is after using Odin? Or is there a work-around for that? Or do I have to update with Odin from now on? Or flash myself when the Note update is released. Advice please. Thanks in advance.

If your CSC is not set according your region N/OR Your installed ROM is not yet released for your region, Kies won't recognise it.
e.g. In India Kies released ROM is DDLB2, N previosly it was XXKL3, N before that XXKK3
Now
If at present my Installed ROM is one of abve 3 N my CSC is different
OR
My CSC is set to India but Installed ROM is not 1 of above three
Then Kies says same msg as you said.
So to get update via kies /OTA then
My ROM should be 1 of three (DDLB2/XXKL3/XXKK1 for India) as well my CSC should be set to India(INU), Then only i can get it.
Thanks, I'll check and see.

Baseband
N7000XXLPT
Kernel version
[email protected] #2
Build number
GINGERBREAD.XXKKA
Help as i just wanna have the OTA update of ics n root access nothing else
Bump
You need full stock to do that, and all matching parts of a stock version. And the same csc, in plain words the same setup your phone came with.
Anything else and no ota lol

So just a stock gb flashed through odin would do the trick? :victory:
Yes, as long as its same csc, efs is not corrupted.
Sometimes its needed to try different roms. Had it once one version didnt ota, and earlier did.

I heard 4.1.2 official Samsung update is rolling out.
I connected my N7000 to the computer and opened KIES after a long time i didn;t opened Kies. It said that a firmware is available, and also said a new version of KIES is available.
I thought I should update Kies first, so I did.
After Kies updated I connected the G Note again, and this time Kies said:
"Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies"
Current firmware version: PDA:LPY/PHONE:LPT/CSC:LPY(KOR)
my device information is:
4.0.3
N7000XXLPT
kernel version: 3.0.15-N7000XXLPY-CL474507
Build: IML74K.XXLPY
Does anyone can tell me why KIES doesn't let update firmware via KIES?
I bought my phone few month ago from somebody and he said that the phone can get official updates.
Is the phone info and firmware/build etc. is an official firmware?
I don't want to put non official ROM or 4.1.2.
Thanks for any help!
Probably because you have a non-stock kernel. Flash the stock kernel that goes with your stock rom and try again.
It's because you probably have a German rom and the csc is set to Korea. Dial *#272*IMEI# and choose DBT.
Doing this will wipe your phone. So make sure you are on a safe kernel and backup your important data.

How do I find the device IMEI?
and what do you mean by " make sure you are on a safe kernel"?
thanks again!
all the data is backed....
You are on ICS stock. But i dont know what kernel you are on and what info about the kernel you have mentioned, seems to be stock. Stock ICS kernels are not safe to do a reset.. so to be safe you need to install a safe kernel ... I would recommend flashing Philz kernel LRT zip from stock recovery..
IMEI is either by daialing *#06# or its in about device > status section
Hello everybody; I have a Galaxy Note N7000 with android 4.0.3 with the following characteristics:
- PDA:LPY / Phone: LPT / CSC: LP5 (PHE) (unbranded from spain) and band version is N7000XXLPT
Two days ago i checked if there is an update via OTA and i have found a new one with a download of 549.02 MB. I accepted the install and after the rebooting it says that there is an error and advised me to update it with Kies. But in Kies there isn't any proposed update.
I tried twice without success. What should i do ?
Thanks an advance.
if your phone is rooted and has a custom recovery then it wont install the OTA

No isn't rooted and have never been rooted before
in that case download the latest rom from samfirmware.com and flash it using Odin if you want to update.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
My question. Why i'm in this situation? Usually when there is an update it occurs in Kies and OTA in the same time, or only on Kies but never in OTA only
recent update may be. not yet released for kies. should be there in couple of days
Thank you so much
always on OTA and nothing in Kies for a week now !!!
is it normal?
I can not update via ota too.
My note has an official 4.0.3 android.
Don't u think that maybe a software (for example my avast anti virus) prevent my note to update?
Should i factory reset?
As per Sammobile.com your firmware for PHE is not updated to JB.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-N7000&pcode=PHE#firmware
There is no JB update for Spain yet. If you really want JB I suggest use Germany LT4 and flash it using ODIN. Or
Try this:

Not completely true: the new XXLT5 from today has PHE as CSC for Spain and as default CSC Portugal (TPH).
I confirm, finally the update on Kies is online.
I'm updating now my Note.
However i don't know if it's a good one.
According to Samobile the version is PDA: N7000XXLSZ CSC: N7000XXLS4 Is it the good one like German?
It don't want to update nor in OTA nor in Kies. Should i reset my phone?
No Idea ?

Hi, i finally successfully updated my N7000 to JB 4.1.2
I used ODIN 3.07 and downloaded from sammobile the new firmware of my region.
Updating took about 25 minutes. It's not hard at all and all my data are there after rebooting.

How can i acheive the update file to use in odin.
Please put the link whrre u download the update file from.
Hello, it's from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
1- you enter the reference of the phone model, in our case it's N7000
2- According to the region of your phone firmware you should choose the exact firmware (be careful when choosing, it's very important)
