I've looked all these forums and can't find a thread dedicated to the I500 Showcase users. I'm looking for ROMs for this phone without taking the chance of flashing an incompatible ROM. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've already used the CM10 ROM using CwM 4...and after noticing that it has data drops quite often (every 10min) and having to reboot, I returned to stock 2.3.5.

NEED SERIOUS HELP WITH CDMA HERO ON SPRINT. After rooting, downloading ROM Manager, & applying various ROM's due to rebooting issue finally was able to apply Cyanogen Mod version: 6.0.0-Heroc but now I'm totally unable to REACTIVATE MY SERVICE ON SPRINT! I sat on hold with Sprint's supposed "Tech Support" last night for not resolution to the issue. I came to the conclusion that Hero won't accept any provisional programming codes. Anyone, anyone, ANYONE know an answer to this issue, experienced the same issue, have an explanation for this issue? I am a former manager with Sprint so not a complete imbecile with phones/computers/techy. devices but this has me completely baffled & stuck using my old HTC Touch Pro until this issue is resolved. Thanks in advance.

Reactivate your service? Were you trying to activate it after rooting and loading cm6?? aosp does not support ## codes...why don't you load the sprint ruu and then activate your phone and then root, flash a custom recovery (use clockwork in the rom manager app you have) and then load cm6

Thanks!
I really appreciate your suggestion and was wondering if the ROM was unequipped to do any carrier provisioning after-the-fact. I'im definitely going to do as you instructed, which had struck me as an option, but, was a little freaked out to start applying different ROMs not in ROM Manager App since for the most part of the week my "Hero" has been inoperable, unprovisioned, or buggy in one way or another. Will attempt this tonight and post-up the outcome!
You could try Fresh 2.4, its a pretty solid sense based rom....let me know if you need anything else

"Love it when a plan comes together!"
Funny you should mention that, too because I just got done downloading Fresh App. before going to xda to check if anyomore feedback on my post. Thanks, again, for the advice & are going to start on fixing this issue at this very moment.

Someone else that I was helping with this same thing flashed the liquid sense rom and got all his missed texts, like I did with fresh then came back to cm6 and everything was fine, so this should solve your problem too, but let me know...

Should've replied earlier but was too busy celebrating the usage of my Hero, again! Lol! So, did as advised above & did esn swap before flashing to Fresh & no problems. Thinking I want to go to Cyanogen instead but a little weary because of previous issues, any advise, should I give it a shot?

I'm glad I was able to help you! I would not hesitate to go to CM now that you are up and running again, it should flash nice and smooth! Let me know if you need any more help!

I got screwed up by the stupid AT&T update... it only half finished. I don't know why. I kept telling it NO, not to update. But at some point it must have on a reboot. In the update section it says, "Continue update" but clicking that does absolutely nothing.
UNFORTUNATELY, now I have NO WIFI and NO BLUETOOTH. Can't see any wifi routers now, and can't see any bluetooth devices. UGH! DAMN AT&T! I didn't even ask for an update. SO....
HELP ME PICK A ROM!
I used to flash ROMs on my older PocketPC phones... I flashed a Gingerbread ROM on my Galaxy Tab, and I flashed a ROM on my HTC Aria.
So tell me what your opinions are about some ROMs. Here's some features I'd like to have:
- ICS
- Newest Sense
- HTC's button dial command and voice dial that was left out of ICS (bastards).
- Native wifi hotspot
If there's a ROM that combines that and is STABLE, tell me about it! I want opinions.
There's really only one option and it's not on xda.

Are you just gonna leave me hanging with that?
I'm by no means an expert, but I've recently taken the dive into helping a friend with his AT&T Vivid. After looking around at all the ICS ROMs out there, the one I settled on was Extreme Holiday Dream X2...doesn't have the newest sense version, but it's running 3.6, so it's fairly recent. Also (again, not an expert), I'm not sure any newer version of sense would work on the Vivid.
Now as a heads up, most people don't seem to have issues with the ROM (and it is a very nice one), but we have had some problems that may or may not be related. First is WiFi constantly attempting to turn on and never working, which I think I've narrowed down to the fact the ROM uses the stock kernel, so I'll be attempting to fix that tonight.
Other problem is the ROM Toolbox not working, though I think that may be linked to the way I rooted the device since SU isn't giving permissions to it (set to auto-allow). That I'll be attempting to fix with SuperSU.
I know this ROM is stable for just about everyone else so far (no actual known bugs), but I don't know if it meets your last two prerequisites, since I'm not really all that familiar with Android devices in general yet. I'll ask my friend and see if he knows.
Due to my permissions right now as a new member, I can't link you to it, but you should be able to find it by googling. The thread I found was on rootzwiki.
Hope this helps. If I find out more about the button dial/voice dial and native WiFi hotspot support, I'll let you know.
EDIT: So I asked about the features, seems like it has the button dialer and native WiFi Hotspot, but not the voice dialer. I'm sure there's an app for it, but it's not native.

Except that WC's forum is down. Is there an alternative way to get the ROM and kernel?

Due to Dev no longer being able to continue updates to Hyperdroid ROM. Need to get a poll of where people are migrating to. I'm looking for a similar ROM with virtually ZERO bugs like Hyperdroid has.
Looking forward to seeing where people are going.

Mods don't like thread like this
Oh sorry. If no one goes into the other thread, then how am I supposed to ask my question? I just thought this would be the best. Mods, sorry if not the correct location or proper way to go about it.

I would suggest the new 4.3 Revolt Alpha. Even though it is still in alpha, it doesn't have any major bugs, and even call audio is working!

Hello fellow touchpad users,,,,, can any of you guys tell me if there's any custom roms made for the touchpad(other than the ones listed at webOS nation) that would be usable with the 4g model(HAVE WORKING "MOBILE NETWORK"SETTINGS)? The newest build I've found is android 4.1.2,,,,, honestly it's a pretty good build, but for the life of me I can't get Adobe flash player running on any version, or any browser with this version of android.....secondly,I can't find a upgrade in the webOS archive to upgrade the 4g model....is the 4g model stuck at 3.0.1 for eternity? Thanks for your help in advance....IF THERE'S ANY DEVELOPER HERE THAT'S FAMILIAR WITH THE TOUCHPAD, I WILL GLADLY DONATE FOR DEVELOPMENT ON THE 4G MODEL...EVEN IF I'M THE SOLE SPONSOR, YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY, I PROMISE!
Without a 4G Touchpad, I cannot vouch for whether other builds include mobile data support -- however -- I can help with Adobe Flash Player. Here's a wonderful video created by someone who frequents XDA and has created countless wonderful guides: How to Install the Adobe Flash Player on Any Andr…: http://youtu.be/Eg0vOISEDzY

Thank for the reply....I've tried all of these versions of Adobe, with varying degrees of success, but still no cigar....I think it's something wrong in this particular build....there's just so little to choose from for this model of touchpad and the one developer that was putting some effort into the 4g has stopped or slowed dramatically....what a shame,,,, my options and others with this pad are narrowing.....

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking on the xda forums since I had a pocket pc in 2007/8, but I rarely post at all. Though I think its amazing how prolific the users are on the forums. However, I have been surfing the Galaxy 900a forum for quite a while, reading on updates about the phone's rom, bootloader lockdown and the like. it's a bit unfortunate we won't be able to use the phone, like the galaxy s2 (Still my favorite phone to date).
So I have a question for everyone: Is anyone actually using the modified touchwiz roms found in the android development, or are you using stock with root? And I guess a followup question I'd like to ask is, if you're okay with how the phone's android development turned out. Just curious.
Thanks,
Americo24
I'm just fine running the stock rooted deodex. I use TiB to freeze most of the Samsung/ATT apps and replace the launcher and keyboard to Apex and SwiftKey respective. In the past I had a Nexus 4 and ran Paranoid Android, so I've used both flavors of Android. To me as long as it works good I'm happy!
