FYI, its here, and stable!
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=quincytmo&type=nightly
When I say stable, I mean no reboots or lockups in the past 24 hours. No problems with the menu in Titanium Backup either.
Edit: got my first lockup (lightblue screen), shucks!
In order to flash this, you must be using the twrp recovery, not clockworkmod. I also format my partitions first using the Darkside Super Wipe Ext4. I'll attach both.
Don't forget to get the Jellybean gapps from http://goo.im/gapps for CyanogenMod 10.0.x

The super wipe clears everything and formats the partitions as ext4. Im not sure if its really needed, but CM10 hung on its spinning boot logo until I used the super wipe and reflashed.

Hey guys,
I have a nexus one currently running cm7 rc1.
I heard that rc2 came out.
Is there anyway that I could upgrade to rc2 without loosing anything that I currently have on rc1?
What do I do? Could I use rom manager?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Just flash it over but do a backup first just in case.
Yes, just use ROM Manager to flash to RC2, just don't do a factory reset / wipe and all your settings and apps will carry over.
Depending on what kid of user you are, you may also want to look at Titanium Backup, its a pretty amazing tool. It has a slight learning curve but it really lets you take control of what you want to carry over from one build to the next, specially when you are going between different rom products that require a complete wipe
Soooo, all I have to do is to download the rom and gapps, and only do a backup- no wipe. After I do that will I have the same layout as rc1 but it will be rc2?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Yes, but be careful, flashing can be habit forming and RC's are a gateway drug. You'll be a crackflasher in no time.

Should we wipe to move from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
You shouldn't need to wipe whenever you move minor versions, but it doesn't always work perfectly, and sometimes you end up needing to wipe anyway. Always nandroid, just in case something ends up going wrong on the new install.
I am generally new (noob) if you will to dev for androids. I am rooted, over clocked, add free and other thing but what I haven't tried yet is getting new roms, kernels, etc. I would like to learn these functions so I can upgrade my phone. Does anyone have and material, websites, etc. on flashing or installing different roms that I.can look over to learn about the process and how to do it exactly? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can use stock kernel and overclock at the same time.
I finally tried it last night but I.got stuck in a loop I believe.. I tried flashing thriller.. lucky I installed cwm recovery and had backed up my last phone. When I flash a.new Rom do I have to return the phone to factory settings? The tutorial I was using was for the old version on cwm recovery and didn't translate to the new one so I basically had to make an educated guess.
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
This is exactly what I did. I installed cwm recovery. I.backed up my phone. I downloaded the thriller zip. Connected my.phone to computer and cut and pasted the thriller zip folder onto my SD card. I booted in cwm recovery. And clicked install from SD I found the thriller Rom and downloaded it. Once it was done I clicked re booted normally and when I did this it only showed a bunch of colors coming.g together into and x and did that for 10 minutes until I booted into cwm recovery again and restored from my latest back up. Anything I did wrong or didn't do? Any help would be appreciated.

Extremely unnecessary wipes.
Factory reset does these three things.
Wipes /data
Wipes /cache
Wiping dalvik-cache is useless in a factory reset as "dalvik-cache" is stored in "/data".
OK so from your experience am I doing it right except for the factory wipe? Or are the wipes unnecessary? Thanks for the print responses too!
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Its important to know what version software your running. I believe the thriller rom only works on android software version 2.2 aka froyo. If your phone is running 2.3 gingerbread that would be the reason why the rom didn't work. Check in settings>aboutthisphone>androidversion to see which software you've got. I'm relatively new to all this also but I hope I helped

I'd suggest always doing a wipe when going from ROM to ROM.
This is how I do my wipes.
NANDROID current ROM
Flash new ROM
If I even see one force close, I factory reset.
@lestat.. but when I do wipe it.. doesn't it wipe the SD card too? Like when I hit factory settings does it clear SD as well?

You'll have to try the ROMs for yourself. I can't say for myself as a dev.
I personally like thrill seeker. The original developer had to give up on it because he's been busy, but another dev (Bdadd34) has picked it up and is continuing to work on it. I like it because its stable and very simple to flash and I don't have to flash to a different baseband (which I've never tried). Also from reading on here for a while I know lestat's acidhazard rom is a favorite among most not only for the thrill here in the US, but also for a lot O3D users. His is a rom kitchen so you pretty much build the rom with features you want. its still a little over my head but lestat has a great reputation on here for being super helpful. I'm sure he'd explain it much better or just check out his website which I'm sure a link is in the post for his rom.

I'm using Dark's acidhazard rom with acura's beast 1.3 extreme low voltage kernel. I have no complaints and the support from dark is incredible. I'm on v20p too and I haven't experienced any ghost calls yet. *knocks on wood* I would definitely recommend acid hazard..

Check the development section. Im working on CM10 now (the 31-10 build), which has JB. No problems. I just wanna say, read before you do, just to close out some problems.
Maybe its easier if you ask your problems and someone can answer

I so depend on my tablet that I don't want to try it without knowing what I'm doing. If I run into problems and can't use it I'll be screwed.
I have an i957 so the steps are a little different I think. Is that what you have?
Hmm, i just followed the steps in the CM10 and its working. I have a p7310 model...
The steps are the same. I have an i957 and am running the cm 10 from nrvate. Just make sure you have a Rom specifically for the i957. Very happy with the Rom. You can find it in the i957 development section.

I must be dense. I don't see the steps!
This is all I see:
Use TWRP, factory reset and wipe /system if you are coming from another ROM. Don't forget to install google apps http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.ph...on/Google_Apps
And that doesn't tell me enough.....
Start by looking for instructions on how to install a recovery and root your device. CWM and TWRP are two recoveries, you'll use one of the two. These are flashed through Odin. Once you have a recovery installed then you can flash a rom through it. Make sure the Rom is specific for your device. Not any Rom will work and the wrong one will brick it. These are basic instructions and are only meant to show you what to look for on the forums. The forums have "stickies" where a lot of this basic information can be found.
The galaxy sII General forum had some good stickies that can help. Read and 're-read them until you'll comfortable.

Oh boy. I think I did it. I flashed TWRP through ODIN. With CM10 from nrvate do I just point TWRP to the file and that's it?
Wipe system, cache and dalvik cache. Then point twrp (install) to the rom. Then install the gapps and then reboot.

When I wipe does that remove all of my apps and info??!?
No it doesn't remove your apps, but I'd back those up first just in case. The gapps package should be found where you found the Rom.
Ps factory reset will delete your apps.

Ugh. I just flashed and rebooted from TWRP. I get the Samsung screen and then a black screen and then nothing......
Just posted to to CM10 thread. Hopefully, it's an easy fix.
Give it sometime and then try re booting. If you can still get to twrp you can restore, you did a nandriod back up,right?
If that doesn't work you may be soft bricked. If so go to sammobile.com and down load the stock Rom and flash it through Odin. Hopefully you don't need that but it'll bring you back to where you started. But I hope you backed everything up. Because your tab will be like New again.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I tried rebooting again and now I can get to the Cyanogenmod splash screen. It just sits there though....
That's a good sign, your not soft bricked. What version of twrp are you using? I'd try going back into twrp and wiping the cache and dalvik and then under advanced, fix the permissions and then reboot.

---------- Post added at 02:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:56 PM ----------
If that doesn't work then you'll have to do a clean install which means a factory reset. Back everything up first though with something like titanium backup pro.
Then do the factory reset, the wipes and install the Rom and gapps. After booting you'll have to resetup your Gmail account and then install titanium backup again Then you can restore your apps and data.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Dang. That didn't work. I'm using TWRP 2.1.4.
Ok, I'll restore, then back up with Titanium and do what you said.
Thanks.
I know you can get this running on your i957 because I did. But I went through what your going through too. I'm using twrp 2.3.1.1. If you Google twrp i957 you see a goo.im download, get the .tar file. It will install over your twrp version thru Odin.
But I'm pretty sure the factory install will do the trick.

I read all that last night - also droidforums.net. There was never a solution beyond reflash, and nobody ever reported back if they were able to solve it. I don't recall having this problem with Safestrap 1.08 when I tried Liberty before.
Oh well. I'll keep playing around. I tried the vending.apk from Maverick 4.5 but that didn't seem to help either. I also tried turning ads back on in ROM Toolbox. It may be time to go through build.prop or something.

Ok, I got it working. What worked for me is to skip the initial setup of Liberty by doing the four corner trick (i.e, on the "touch the Droid to begin" screen, touch the four corners of the touchable display in the order upper left, upper right, lower right, and lower left; this will skip the setup steps and bring you straight to the home screen). Touching the market after that asks you to log in to a Google account, and this successfully starts the market/play store without a force close.
Breaking my usual rule of not changing two things at once, I also switched from the first ROM slot to my third (I have three slots.) I doubt that made a difference, though.

Hmm, that could be why. I always skip setup via 4 corners, although back when liberty first came out I probably didn't. Although it could be coincidence, as stated in the thread, it seemed kinda random, appearing for some, and being fixed via multiple reflashing.
I've been giving some consideration to going back to liberty for awhile, switch it up. I'll put it to the test if i do

Nice, thanks for the info

I read all that last night - also droidforums.net. There was never a solution beyond reflash, and nobody ever reported back if they were able to solve it. I don't recall having this problem with Safestrap 1.08 when I tried Liberty before.
Oh well. I'll keep playing around. I tried the vending.apk from Maverick 4.5 but that didn't seem to help either. I also tried turning ads back on in ROM Toolbox. It may be time to go through build.prop or something.

I flashed it with safestrap 3.5 and everything works perfect for me. Are you sure you guys used the right gapps? Everything works on my phone.
P.S.......And thanks for updating Liberty to work with Safestrap 3.5..........

Oh, cool. I'm just used to flash my own GApps with Liberty, like before.
Weird, not sure why people are having an issue with it then?

You only need to flash GApps on aosp based roms like cm and aokp. This is due to legal issues, android is open source, gapps are not. Since liberty is heavily modified blur base rather than being compiled from source, gapps are included.

Thanks, I'll have to keep that in mind. I'm not sure if there's anything in a CyanogenMod Gapps that would be bad for Liberty.
Anyway, the four corners trick works, and everything else in setup is easy to re-do. Restoring apps and WiFi access points I do with Titanium anyway, so I don't need to restore from Google.
I have to say that I set this up but went back to Minimoto because I was traveling and I wanted to have a known-good setup. I'll restart with Liberty in a day or two and see how things go.
Hi all,
I've been using AOIP on my Exhibit since June... and have loved it, but I've recently had some reboot/crash problems.
Upon uninstalling an app or toggling cellular data off (and only off... turning it on has no effect and if the wifi turns data off I still see the same effect), the phone crashes and reboots immediately. There may be a couple more causes, but I haven't pin pointed them.
This had first occurred when I installed the 8/3 release without a full wipe. I performed a full wipe, flashed 8/3, and still experienced heavy crashing. I reverted to the 6/3 release and didn't have problems. I tried the same sequence with the same results with the 8/10 release a couple of weeks ago. I've again reverted to 6/3 without problems...
Then this morning, I noticed that my wallpaper had been reset over night (suggesting a crash) and now the phone crashes under the same scenarios mentioned above.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated - I've enjoyed the ROM and hope this has been addressed with other folks and has yielded a simple solution...although I haven't seen this problem in any forums.

Currently, CWM 6.0.3.6 touch - installed a few days ago, but crashing began today. Previously, CWM 6.0.3... something.... which ever version was available just before this latest touch version.

First, only wipe cache partition + flash the new ROM. Then, once I saw some crashing, wipe data/factor reset + wipe cache partition + flash new ROM.
I had a wallpaper reset, too. I didn't know what it might mean. Why would that indicate a crash?

I see... so I'm off on my definition. Would you suggest doing so and flashing one of the AOIP releases? If so, which release and which kernel would you recommend?

I'm running the ocuvhm kernel and it works flawless stopped most of my problems.
If you've been here long enough you'll know that some of our phones work well with OC kernels and since don't. As suggested, I recommend flashing the stock kernel (white screen) and see if that solves your problem. If it does good, if not try a different thing. Make a nandroid first.

I've now flashed the 8/10 AOIP release and have tried both OC kernels and the stock kernel (white screen)... but this hasn't solved the crashing. Any other suggestions?

Then try another rom and see if it does the same thing. If not, I say backup your external SD card to your computer then wipe everything including your SD card and start fresh and see if that helps.
Try TWRP instead of CMW just for the heck of it. I would try downloading everything again just to be sure

I've flashed camory's CM10 for the phone, and things seem to be running smoothly, although the new Maps (7.0) freezes up things.
I supposed I'll stick with this ROM and try out AOIP again if another version is released. Thanks for the help - try to keep me posted if this problem turns out to be repeatable and addressable...
