MOTO Change ICS rollout date AGAIN!!! - Motorola Droid Bionic

Motorola just update the ICS time table, and they change the time AGAIN!!!
Now is "ICS Upgrade (Android 4.0.4) rollout to begin in Q4."

I imagine soak tests are part of the roll out process ... so I guess someone, on December 31st, will get a test version to soak. Done, roll out process starts Q4.

I would expect closer to end of the year versus early October.

I've given up and have flashed back to 905... I wanted a last bit of speed and stability for a short while yet before the ota comes. I've had it wih ics 232. I couldn't stand the incredible lag across the board, but especially in the stock email client. I truly hope they've optimized speed and efficiency in 244+.

I've gone to the .232 leak for the first time because of this announcement. I doubt it will be out in early Q4, but I hope I am wrong. However, I am loving this leak! Not experiencing anymore lag than before and absolutely no data drops so far.

I may finally stop waiting and go for .232.

Ah, yes. But have you read what Punit Soni said about all of this nonsense?

Where is the early July update for Bell's Galaxy S?

So where the hell is the early July update for Bell's Galaxy S?
Sent from my GT-I9000M using XDA App
Hey man,
Great news, the update is out. In fact, it has been out since over a year.
Its called rooting your phone to install a polished, stable and overall superior rom.
2$ it'll be out tomorrow morning!
The SGS2 came out on july 14th and they probably didn't want to kill sales by upgrading the original SGS to GB first.
Now that it's available, I would expect the update anytime soon...
I live in Canada and bought my Galaxy s from bell also last year.
Whats wrong with you, root your phone.
Man, the experience is incomparable. Samsung takes an average 6month before dropping a new minor update that adds bugs of its own. Root your phone and you'll thank me later.
I mean i was planning to buy a sgs2 to resolve many of the major problems i had with sgs. At a point i thought it was hardware, since no matter how many times i exchange my phone at futureshop for free, or no matter how many application i installed, my battery would only last 3 hours. And when it reached 10% left, it would freeze, lag and become unresponsive. After installing a rom, my phone now last over a day from extensive use.
Non rooted users are dependent of samsung and their carrier. Rooted phone have unlimited possibilities and their request and want are usually answered rapidly by the community.
What rom do you use?

Sadly, 80% of the rom available is faster and more stable that samsung firmware.
I used to use f1 galaxy s v6. Im testing many here and their before coming to a conclusion.
Anyways, this should be interesting for rooted users,

If and only "if" Gingerbread doesn't kill my i9000m internal SD like Froyo did, then I might stick with the i9000m...

I'm pretty sure those were hardware or manufacturing defects, that were blatantly exposed by Froyo.
Complaints nose-dived in January and all but disappeared after they finally started getting properly repaired/built units out.

Actually it was a combo effect.
People that had the October and November Internal SD's, plus the original launch of Froyo were the main ones affected. Too many threads to post about this, but most are around here.
The Original Froyo FW was pulled for a reason.
All I know is that I had a "Perfect" and "Mint" November i9000m. Sadly the original Froyo upgrade didn't even 2 days with me. I had the *stutter vibrate* and then it was "Boot loop game over"...
i hope it out by friday. Knowing Bhell they will not release it till the end of the month or even later.
Hi, the sg2 will be available tomorrow with bell & virgin
So, for the room I agree, try a new rom. I had around 800 point in quadrant and now 1700 with a custom rom.

That wouldnt make any sense from a business perspective, they would be effectively ending the bionic's life before they've even earned back the R&D costs, and that they had to have been developing the RAZR before the bionic released, so it wouldnt make any sense to release the bionic, only to release the RAZR later. besides, it was ANNOUNCED today, far too many people neglect the difference between announced, and released. The bionic was announced in January at CES, it launched 8 months later...

droid 4 ics/cm9 coming soon...just fyi

ICS/CM9 will be coming to the droid 4 sooner than expected. Hashcode0f : the dev that develops for the d3,razr, and bionic is getting his d4 on monday and will be porting his work over to the d4. I just wanted to throw out this info for the people that don't follow hashcode on his twitter. if you want to follow him on twitter his name is Hashcode0f on twitter.

Check out his blog for more info on his work.
HASHCODES BLOG
Per HASHCODE's twitter
Droid 4 will be fully supported. My device will be here Monday.
all of the devices we support are getting close to needing just the camera. It'll be the same with D4 fairly quickly.
UPDATE PER HASHCODE:
D4 came in. Im a few days behind getting it setup for CM9 and AOKP. Wanted to iron out the RAZR build. #comingsoon
CAMERA FIXED!!!!!
Thanks for the heads-up. This is a fairly big deal to me, and I was hoping for good news.
No worries man, i came from a droid 3 and i was running his ics/cm9 rom and aside from the camera (which is very close now) issue everything else is pretty solid and stable so hopefully by the time he gets it ported over the rom will be in beta and camera will be working. He does awesome work.
THANKS HASHCODE.

NICE!
I had been wandering since the RAZR and the D4 have the same innards if the roms could simply be ported back and forth with some minimal optimizations.
However I do love my camera, so I'll be looking forward to this ROM only after the camera has been implimented...
I'm not worried about the camera lol i could flash ICS and wait for a camera after an update

[Q ] Rezound to Bionic.

So I recently shattered the screen on my Rezound
Thinking of getting a Bionic since Big Red has them for free. What do you guys think of the Bionic? Is development going strong? And do ICS ROMs exist? Are they stable enough to be a daily driver? Any input is welcomed
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
If your warranty allows it, get another Rezound.
Development is not that active. Eclipse is the only active Gingerbread-base ROM available. Team Gummy & Hive Dev are doing ICS ROMs but since the locked bootloader of the Bionic prevents kernel changes, ICS is not 100% functional.
Well I have insurance on my Rezound but I don't have the $99 for the insurance claim and I have an upgrade on my plan now. Anything is better than the DX I'm using right now haha

I agree. I have the Bionic and my wife has the Rezound. I feel like I got the short end of the stick here.
You're better off to stay with the X and save up the insurance deductible, IMHO.
That being said, the Bionic ICS ROMs are nice, but they all have the silly camera issues. Those might not be resolved until an official Moto ICS is released. You can take pictures using the cameras, but no video, and no barcode scanners, etc.
Eclipse is a nice Gingerbread ROM. It's what I'm running now.
What if I could have both? Haha the upgrade is my moms, so it won't add time to my line. And later I can send the Rezound in to the insurance and get it fixed. Then I will have both. I don't see the downside in trading this DX for a Bionic for free. Because I cannot stand this phone after having my Rezound.

Personally I'm a big fan of the Bionic. I got mine on release day last September and haven't had any major problems in all that time. I'm rooted and stock, with about 45 bloatware apps frozen. Each time there's an update I just unfreeze, update and refreeze with TiBu. Works great. If you don't want to spend the money for another Rezound I say go for it.
Unfortunately this is no longer an option for me. My girlfriend decided it would be a good idea to dump gatorade on her uninsured Rhyme. So now the upgrade will be going to her. Looks like I'll just have to bite the bullet and make an insurance claim

Lol phone 101 class? ?? I get my phones from Verizon . I cant help the data drop issues ( which is a KNOWN issue with this phone ) do a google search on the data drops and you will clearly see its not just me. If it dont bother you that the data drops off multiple times a day and you are used to sub par performance and you dont mind paying for data droppage thats you but I personally want my phone to work . The 905 update is rolling out to try and fix the DATA DROP ISSUE. There you have your first phone 101 lesson.
