I've tried searching through the forum and the only thread I found was this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041. It appears to have it, but the link is broken and the file is not found on that website. Does anyone else have a back-up of the Fido variant of Gingerbread 2.3.4?
I am currently on [CM9] Paranoid Android [Build 11] at the moment and might want to switch back to stock just in case Fido makes "the modding of software" a reason why they can't help me.
Thanks again for the help!
EDIT: It was a long process... but I did a full wipe by flashing it, then i just restored my original ROM from the very first day when i installed CWM recovery!

hi there every1 this is my 1st post, i been reading a lot and can't find a answer to my dilema.
I flashed a droid to boost mobile , was in metropcs with peter alfonso gp16 rom on it but when i went to get the phone flash the tech change the rom to cyanogen 6.1.2
i don't really like it at all, i like the stock thing(thanks to Peter alfonso) .
i try to update the rom to cyanogen latest and when i make a call says phone can't be validated.
i try gp16 and gp17 and the same thing , i even try the miui rom same thing.
when i restore the back up i did from the original the tech flashed it work perfect
i know it must be possible to change the rom w/o losing the validating thing
why a old rom works and the new one wont?
p.s. did the flashing also in a evo 4g and change rom to miui and no problem.

How did you flash it? What were the steps?
He is most likely using the autostart.sh method and losing his APN when he flashes a new ROM.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
So what is the next step ?
I have my droid flashed to metro pcs and the tech told me that it MAY mess up something when trying to root but he said since he had no hands on proof that he isnt positive.
but i do know that once the phone is rooted then flashed, you can switch to any rom without loosing you prl, esn, all that information.
but in my situation i would have to pay again to get it re flashed if anything does go wrong. so if anyones done this and was successful then let me knw how to and/or what to watch out for.
thanks
I have tried numerous roms with this tab since I have bought it, all 4.0+.
I didn't try any Gingerbread roms much, and flashed cm9 almost as soon as I bought it.
No rom remains stable without force closing every app upon launching for more than a week. Even the stable 9.1.0 CM9.
Is this a frequent problem with ICS/JB? I had the same problem with a family member's Ainol Novo Elf II, which i just shipped back for returns because of it.
Or is this problem hardware related, being that no rom will work?
Also I tried to flash Galaxy Cubed from the latest CM10, but it gave me an error.
Is there a file to restock this tablet? Such as an sbf file like some phones use?
Please don't flame me for not researching, because I tried with google, but it left a lot to be desired, and much of the info is now outdated.
Thank You for your help in advance!!
you can try EF17 stock rooted rom from this one.

Thank You! I will try that tomorrow. My tab is Verizon CDMA, that shouldn't make a difference even though that says sprint correct?
should not matter, but actually I don't have a CDMA device.
Only so far seems like that thread has the working stock rom for CDMA.
I guess you can use it just to restock, put CWM, then you can put Galaxy Cubed
Thread moved. Please post in the correct section in future.
Thanks

Hello, I just got a new i9070.
Since it comes with Gingerbread, I want to upgrade to the leaked Russian JellyBean ROM.
However, before I proceed to flash it, I would like to be able to go back if needed and odin-flash the exactly same stock ROM that it has now. Something like the info in this thread, but with the blocks for the i9070.
Anyone can help me? Thanks!

Note down your firmware version and go to sammobile.com and search it there, I was able to get stock ROM of my country successfully from there.
FYI: They upload files on Hotfile, and downloading is a tough job, be patient.
Hey there,
I have a factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy SIII, international, GT-I9300, freshly rooted and using CWM-based recovery v5.5.0.4::CF - v1.5.
Today I've flashed 2 custom ROMs, by following some guides that I've found (cannot post yet links):
1. Android 4.3 via SuperNexus: URL hidden
and after the SuperNexus this one:
2. Android 4.3 via ParanoidAndroid 3.97 ROM: URL hidden
Managed to flash these two successfully, but with both of them I've faced the same problem during initial device setup: could not connect to my Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi signal was strange too: strong, then suddenly weak. Could not authenticate and connect. :crying:
So, fortunately, made a backup before these two ROM flashes, so I guess I'm back with my stock Samsung TouchWizzy ROM (Android 4.1.2). That I hate. I want something bloatware free, stock-android feel, something like my Nexus 7 tablet.
Can you suggest me a "Wi-Fi capable" Android 4.3 ROM or am I missing something? Maybe a Radio flash (have no idea what's that) but maybe that what I was missing? And if I do that somehow, is that reversible?
Thank you in advance for any help and suggestion! :good:
Best,
sz
**EDIT: Oops, maybe this is not the best place to post, because it's not Verizon, it's international, unlocked.** sorry, delete this thread

Some early 4.3 ROMs for the Verizon S3 had singer WiFi connection issues. They were fixed simply by rebooting.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

Critical you read the first two posts .
If you are in the wrong forum use the report button to ask a mod to move it before you get the wrong information from this I9305 forum
Can someone please give/link me a detailed tutorial on how to flash the original firmware?
I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I've just unrooted my optimus 2x using superoneclick. Also, it's been a very long time since I flashed a custom ROM, so I have no memory of what ROM I'm currently on.
Thank you.

Surely this would help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737. Look for options 6 & 7 (maybe 5 would be useful too). And... use the search engine.
Cheers!
Manuel.
flash original firmware
I suggest you to flash the original firmware with smartflash (p990 edition).
I try all other methods but i found smartflash more easy than the others.
Thanks for the responses guys, it's helped me take a few steps towards the goal
However, I'd like to ask another question regarding the baseband, and yes, I HAVE read over tonyp's brilliant thread about it, but I'd like to clear something up.
My Optimus 2x was parallel imported, but I have no idea what country it was imported from. Tonyp says in his FAQ that he doesn't think it matters what country's stock ROM firmware and BB you install, so can I truly install any country's firmware, and then use the GetRIL app? It's not like I must install firmware from the country closest to mine (New Zealand) or anything right?
Thanks in advance.
