I ve seen there are 2300mAh batteries on eBay and there is also a 4600mAh battery that comes with a different back cover to compensate for the bigger size.
Do you think any of these 2 are worth it?
So far I ve bought a micro usb battery charger with a capacity of 1900mAh which should be plenty in case I run out of juice.
I've seen those before, where they provide you with a "fatter back cover". However, in my opinion, don't get a battery with a bigger capacity. Just get a portable charger. There are some with up to 10000mAh somewhere. Any other questions?

Maybe I'm not smart enough...
Depending of what kind of charger we use it will be the charge performance.
The heat problem... we can use bigger cable, I think...
The phone should run with 0.5A (USB output power)at least, the same than the "Chuck Norris unbreakable Nokia7660"
The suggestion was just that, a suggestion. Each one knows how, when and under what conditions they need to charge the phone. Its up to each one decide whats best, solar, car, normal, batteries, whatever.
The one from the picture (I choose something bigger than the "Chuck Norris" one), have 0.75A output and its not even very big...
How much did you pay for that? And whats the capacity?

Aye, I understand your intentions, however, I think that a solar charger might not be able to provide the smartphones of today with a fast charge. Perhaps it will provide an above USB current kind of charge, but in my opinion, slow charging doesn't sound pleasant to me. The save in electricity cost might. XD

Ladies and gentlemen, if you want a fast charge, I recommend the normal indoor charger. If you don't like to carry another device attached to your phone, I recommend an extra battery or a high capacity battery. Miracles... sorry, don't know how to do them. I give you all the freedom to choose, one thing I'm sure, I'll never be able to pleasent to Greeks and Trojan at the same time. Choose wise and be happy

I'm looking for a portable battery charger to go with me on longer trips/travel.
The external battery pack which lets you charge your phone a couple of times.
There are som on ebay, but does any of you guys have any special recommendations?
Not to expensive, under 50$ would be nice

why not just get a spare second battery (its what i do )
Imho its easier to just plug in a battery pack. I.e if you are watching a movie or listening to music you don't have to turn off your device..
I use the Just Mobile PP-08 Mobile Power Pack which is 4400 mah and it is very wonderful and not so heavy in my pocket.
PP-08 Mobile Power Pack looks great. But a little expensive I think. 59$ + shipping..

I think will give this one a try, Sanyo eneloop KBC-E1S. Should be able to get at least one full recharge cycle from it.
That way I can also bring my additional eneloops if I'm away from power sources.

Since the Motorola Defy uses the same battery as the Droid X, you can order a 1750 mah battery here at http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi17mtdx.htm for way better life.
anyone tried yet?
Theoretically, then we could also use battery from Motorola Atrix which uses a massive 1900mah. No?
The Droid X battery is a BH5X
The Defy is a BF5X (at least the uk one I have is)
I'm not saying they wont fit the Defy, but it would be nice know from someone who has tried if they do,before stumping up the cash?
There is a BH6X Motorola extended battery
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTbb2f81_HI
This might fit also?
UPDATE
OK it looks like the Droid X battery has flat contacts,
and the Defy has the blades that fits into slots in the battery.
So even though its the same physical size and shape it
won't fit without a bit of serious hacking?
So clever of Motorola to make each of their products so individual and different. You cant help but feel a little special
in owning one. ;-)
BH5X
http://www.trait-tech.com/product/T-BH-5X/
that would be very nice as battery life is allready quite tidy on the defy, dont see why it shouldnt work tho might give it a try

I have this one, arrived in a few days, charger seems to work fine, batteries fit and work but build quality is lacking (pushing battery into charger causes the end of the battery to flex and come away from the inside).
As for time, I've only tried once since I received it the other day and it seems to last about half a day.
Good and cheap for backups, but no good as replacements.

Yes. Very reliable and quality batteries. The do what they are suppose to. They say if something can be done or not, and that is rare. I've seen them say a Desire HD 1800 battery was in the works (like the ones you can find on Ebay), but after trial and error, they scrapped it because it didn't meet their standards. They could have just made it, and made money off it, but they took the high road. I would buy from them anytime.

Firstly, thanks for the link.
Secondly, has anyone ordered/tried one of these yet?
Whilst it's not a huge increase in capacity, an extra ~10% if it doesn't require a larger/distended battery cover wouldn't be too shoddy.
And I'm guessing that since the product page states 'Battery Door - Not Required', that means it uses the standard battery cover?
Just wanted to point out that the original battery is now available on the Motorola EU store online http://www.motorolastore.eu/de/p_motorola_product.aspx?i=207650

We received an interesting tip today about a new LG Android smartphone named Optimus 4X. While the above render is not that conclusive, the thir screenshot reveals some rather interesting hardware specifications.
If this tip turns to be in some way true, LG Optimus 4X smartphone at its 8mm thin will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, boasts a 5.3 OLED HD touchscreen (an outrages 2650×1900 pixel resolution i would say), powered by a 2.2GHz processor, Mali T-604 GPU, 2.5 MB of RAM, 64GB of ROM (built-in memory storage), 4G LTE technology (up to 75Mbps), microSD card slot up to 32GB and a 3200mAh battery.
LG Optimus 4X also could sport an 18MP camera on the back, NFC-enabled, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and more. The whole list of specs looks out of this world for an Android device but in a world where the first Android tablet runs a Quad-core CPU since 2011. Who knows what 2012 has in stored for us. Anyways take it with a pinch of salt until get any kind of confirmation.

LG needs to establish itself as one of the top phone manufacturers. This is the kind of phone that would put them on top.
Sounds like somebody just added all his wet dreams into one model and then just doubled all values for good measure going "teheeheeeee". That phone is physically impossible to build atm inside a reasonably small and thing phonesized case, I'd say. Plus, a way to large jump. Why would a maker give up all the sales he can do with minute little improvements from year to year? That Mali GPU must be a wonfrous chip, if it wants to beat all other phones at 3D speed at that resolution. But who knows, maybe the pictrues are misleading and it's actually a huge brick

But yeah... definitely a fake.

I guess it is fake about the spec..
The one who post that comparison make a mistake, or a joke to us.
but, who knows? only LG does..
But one thing I'm pretty sure, LG would name one device called 4X in the future.

This is my review of the Tronsmart USB rapid car charger. This is a Qualcomm 2.0 rapid charge charger with 2 ports. It comes with 2 USB cords as well in the box, which was a nice surprise. The Note 5 does recognize this as a "rapid charger".
I got the rapid charger to try out and compared it to an OEM Samsung USB charger. I found that the Tronsmart rapid charger charges at a rate of about 1% per minute. This is pretty good. If you take a 10 minute car ride, you will gain roughly 10% to 12% charge. This can be very useful to get a quick juice-up when needed. The Samsung charger charges at a slightly lower rate, about 7% charge gained over 10 minutes.
I should clarify that this testing was done with the phone around 70% to 80% charged already. I still plan on testing out the charge rate with a more drained battery (under 50%) and will report back as to how quickly it charges then.
The charger seems well built. It is nice and compact, and gives you not just the one rapid charge port, but 2. I highly recommend it. 10/10 here.

UPDATE: Just to let you all know how well the rapid charger works when the battery is low. In 15 minutes, my phone went from 19% to 41%. That is a 22% boost in just 15 minutes, which is about what a short drive around town would take for me. I am more than satisfied with that.

Added an update to the OP regarding some further quick charge testing. Really happy with the results.

I use this one for my edge plus and really like it. It charges fast when I have the navigation on. Reason I bought it, of course beside the great reviews on Amazon, is both outputs are rated Q 2.0

I have this charger as well and I confirm that both are rated QC 2.0.
Also, I can definately confirm that both USB cables are big-gauge (20 AWG!), high-quality cables.
I bought two of these off another review and they're great
