Hi Everyone!
I'm kinda having problems going back to stock ics from stable cm9.
I wanted to get back to stock just so I can try speedmod k3-13.
Whenever I flash stock ics through pc odin, I get stocked in the blinking Samsung logo, and my note never boots up. I am now back to cm9 and everything is ok.
Any thoughts on what steps I should undertake to get it working!?
Thanks in advance!

Why you are using kernel to get back to gb???no need to do.if you are doing this for going back to custom gb rom then i would suggest you to first flash a pre-rooted gb rom from dr.ketan's guide.try to flash it through pc-odin.

You need root to install speed mod kernel so quickest way is to flash a pre rooted rom.

it depends what gb rom u download. There are wipe as well as non wipe roms. it's better to do a non wipe rom and reset from recovery

Just flash stock rom with pc Odin, simples.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Will that unroot it too? Or do I not need to unroot to get OTAs and Kies compatibility?

If you flash stock rom, it will unroot and remove cwm also.

Hmm, and I can use Odin to flash a stock ROM over cm10? I've never used Odin before, why cant I just flash the stock ROM over cwm?

because stock roms doesn't come in the form of cwm installable zips.
Thanks for the advice so far guys, just a few more things:
do I need to go back to a GB rom before flashing a stock ICS ROM via Odin?
I saw in this thread that says it's optional: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
And just to make sure, if I do flash back to a stock ICS ROM via Odin, it will overwrite my current kernal/root right?

You can flash straight to ics but remember you'll then be on unsafe kernel. Do wipes before flashing.
Yes, flashing stock will overwrite kernel.

Depends if your backup includes the boot.
If it does then yes, if not then no
But its not a problem, if your backup does not include the kernel then just flash the kernel you are on now...you know which one you are on,
I guess I am on stock as its the rooted stock rom I am on, where do I find just the kernel?

Just flash a stock ftf and exclude everyting except the kernel...I have one backed up somewhere, but not here...I can post it another time, but you can just do what i said.
Also, look in yout backup file. If it includes a boot.img you should be fine to flash that recovery image and it should restore the kernel

http://goo.im/devs/cdesai/mint/sony/boot-20120224.img
thats a link to a stock kernel, its not mine, but it says its stock unmodified...
Hey guys I'm trying to help restore my uncle's phone back to stock but I'm not sure what I should be using to flash over it. Right now it's running Slim Bean 4.2.2 (Build 8). He bought this phone second hand so I'm not sure where this phone is from originally.
The baseband says N7000XXLR1 and I couldn't find that anywhere, would I be able to just flash the official XXLT9 4.1.2 firmware over it using Odin?
You can flash any rom you like, but might be better to stick with one for your region.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You will need to do data wipe. Do it while you have Cwm recovery. And then boot into download mode and flash the stock rom. This may save you a factory reset after flashing.
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda premium
Alright thanks guys. So to clarify I can flash any of the official 4.1.2 firmware and it should work fine (I won't have to worry about the baseband)? I was planning on flashing the unbranded stock rom I found here.
Yes u can flash the unbranded rom
Its latest xxlt9
N its unbranded u don't have to bother for baseband..
U can flash n go on..
