hey first of all im gonna say that the x8 is not the phone i use for daily phone, i use the lg optimus 2x, just had a x8 laying around.so rooting and installing a recovery was a litlle different
but the problem is when after flashing the nAa ics kernel, and turning on the phone, it vibrates, after a while the nAa logo shows up and glows up one time then shuts of, so i cant acsses the recovery.
the rom i had before was the miniCM10 rom, the flashing went fine their so, does anyone know why the ics kernel does not work ? thanks
when it shows naa logo press the back button some times
Sometimes it'll happen because of the changing of the kernel. Just revert to stock rom and start over. (root, boot unlock, flash kernel, flash rom.

try to full flash your phone, not only the kernel. maybe it will solve your problem. or your custom rom isn't compatible with stock kernel and causing stuck at SE logo.
i have unlocked Bootloaderand i wanna flash nAa kernel while using custom rom.will that work? or flash back to stock kernel first?
need answer as fast as possible
sorry for my bad english
Yeah it will work if the rom supports that kernel.Just wipe the dalvik cache before flashing

Just transfer the nAa ROM into your SD card, flash the nAa kernel and when your phone boots up, open CWM and install the ROM.
i see now... if stuck on SE logo then i'll have to rein stall the rom again?
If You flash nAa kernel there won't be SE logo. It will be nAa logo And don't worry about stuck - there's a built-in recovery in nAa kernel, so even if You forgot to copy compatible ROM to SD card there's always an option to enable USB storage via CWM recovery. But make sure You have backup Your contacts / apps / messages etc before do anything.
oh....i never flashed kernel before...
after i unlocked bootloader then my phone hard bricked and sent to repair for 1 month+
after i get it back i checked whether the bootloader unlocked or not it surprisingly unlocked @@ and i was like
So now go ahead and install kernel and then ROM following the instructions and good luck.

aw...ok...thx for the news
I had recently flashed Gamerz Rom from ICS ROM. I flashed Midnight GB kernel over it. Now when I am trying to flash back ICS ROM, phone always boots into Recovery. I tried flashing different ICS ROMs, still it always boots into Recovery.
I don't know what to do.?
Try all three wipes...
If that doesnt work flash ur phone with stock firmware if u can go into download mode....
If my post helped, dont mind pressing the thanks button
Nopes
I always do all 3 wipes.
And yeah I am considering to flash the stock ROM, but am trying my best to avoid all those steps.
I m afraid but u have to go on stock first..

This "trick" is actually using if you go from gb to ics. I recommend you flash cyanogenmod 7.2 (2.3.7 GB), than go for cyanogen mod 9.0(for ics), than reflash any other ics you prefer.
cheers
I had the same issue two days ago.
I flashed GB 3 Part Firmware with Odin.
I booted into downloadmode, flashed cF-root kernel, reboot to recovery and then flashed Devil Kernel already.
I flashed it, because i wanted to flash from external sdcard. That devil kernel flash was the problem. Copy latest CM9 nightly on internal sdcard, and flash it from gb kernel recovery. While flashing process it should Reboot and continue the flashingprocess. Hope you understand, what i wanted to say ^^
Hope i could solve your Problem

Hi, im using cm7 temasek kang build 128 with harsh kernel.
Some times after a phone call i cant wake up the phone,
The wierd thing is that when i had the cm9 i dont have this problem.
Any idea if it is a rom or a kernel problem, and can i fix it?

Hi
try to restore nandroid or if doesnt work try to re flash the rom or u can go back to stock, in my opinion i think its a kernel fault, tell the clear picture, ur phone doesnt power up or some thing else....
Why flashing CM9 kernel on CM7 Rom?
First, pull out the battery.
Second, pull it back and reboot into recovery by holding Power button+Volume Down+Home button.
Then, make a full wipe and try reflashing the Rom.
If that works, reflash the kernel you want but BE SURE TO FLASH THE RIGHT KERNEL.
If it doesn't work, you should flash back the stock firmware using KDZ Updater, Smartflash or Nvflash.
Stock kernel=Stock Rom
CM7 kernel=CM7 rom
CM9 kernel=CM9 rom
Hope that help.

Hello all, I would like to ask, if the phone is stuck on bootloop on the lg logo, should i just flash another rom through cwm. I was using cm7 before and then i thought of using some modded stock rom. So when i flashed it bootlooped for several minutes. Now my phone is working after flashing the latest kang. Is that the correct thing to do? thx

If you flash a Stock ROM coming from a CM7 ROM it is recomended to do a wipe before flashing, and vice versa, or else it will get stuck on boot loop.

I have to add: that happens due to the different file system. Cm7 uses ext3 I believe and stock roms something else.
