Hi, im using cm7 temasek kang build 128 with harsh kernel.
Some times after a phone call i cant wake up the phone,
The wierd thing is that when i had the cm9 i dont have this problem.
Any idea if it is a rom or a kernel problem, and can i fix it?

Hi
try to restore nandroid or if doesnt work try to re flash the rom or u can go back to stock, in my opinion i think its a kernel fault, tell the clear picture, ur phone doesnt power up or some thing else....
Why flashing CM9 kernel on CM7 Rom?
First, pull out the battery.
Second, pull it back and reboot into recovery by holding Power button+Volume Down+Home button.
Then, make a full wipe and try reflashing the Rom.
If that works, reflash the kernel you want but BE SURE TO FLASH THE RIGHT KERNEL.
If it doesn't work, you should flash back the stock firmware using KDZ Updater, Smartflash or Nvflash.
Stock kernel=Stock Rom
CM7 kernel=CM7 rom
CM9 kernel=CM9 rom
Hope that help.

I had recently flashed Gamerz Rom from ICS ROM. I flashed Midnight GB kernel over it. Now when I am trying to flash back ICS ROM, phone always boots into Recovery. I tried flashing different ICS ROMs, still it always boots into Recovery.
I don't know what to do.?
Try all three wipes...
If that doesnt work flash ur phone with stock firmware if u can go into download mode....
If my post helped, dont mind pressing the thanks button

I always do all 3 wipes.
And yeah I am considering to flash the stock ROM, but am trying my best to avoid all those steps.
I m afraid but u have to go on stock first..

This "trick" is actually using if you go from gb to ics. I recommend you flash cyanogenmod 7.2 (2.3.7 GB), than go for cyanogen mod 9.0(for ics), than reflash any other ics you prefer.
cheers
I had the same issue two days ago.
I flashed GB 3 Part Firmware with Odin.
I booted into downloadmode, flashed cF-root kernel, reboot to recovery and then flashed Devil Kernel already.
I flashed it, because i wanted to flash from external sdcard. That devil kernel flash was the problem. Copy latest CM9 nightly on internal sdcard, and flash it from gb kernel recovery. While flashing process it should Reboot and continue the flashingprocess. Hope you understand, what i wanted to say ^^
Hope i could solve your Problem

hey first of all im gonna say that the x8 is not the phone i use for daily phone, i use the lg optimus 2x, just had a x8 laying around.so rooting and installing a recovery was a litlle different
but the problem is when after flashing the nAa ics kernel, and turning on the phone, it vibrates, after a while the nAa logo shows up and glows up one time then shuts of, so i cant acsses the recovery.
the rom i had before was the miniCM10 rom, the flashing went fine their so, does anyone know why the ics kernel does not work ? thanks
when it shows naa logo press the back button some times
Sometimes it'll happen because of the changing of the kernel. Just revert to stock rom and start over. (root, boot unlock, flash kernel, flash rom.

I rooted my device and I want to flash the CWM is it okay to flash it through ODIN right now? If so can you provide me the .tar file to install the CWM and at last is it correc that the CWM can make a full system backup because I wanted to flash the CM10 nightlies (I do know that to flash the CM10 I must have flashed the CM9 first) and some people said the CM10 isn't really good and I wanted to backup my system so if I didn't like the CM10 I can go back to my stock android
What rom are you on?
You will need to change the kernel to get cwm. If you are on rooted ics, you can install speedmod or philz kernel to be safe and get cwm.
Then you can make a nandroid backup and install the cm rom. No need to change the rom to cm9 if on a safe kernel.

what the kernel you have on the phone?
there is a possibility to use cwm temporarily. so u don't need to flash an other kernel:

Yes but install a rom using that may prove dangerous if the rom has bad updater script. This can be used to install a kernel.

What were you on before flashing the kernel?
My guess is that you'll have to Odin back to stock KK4, flash Corn Kernel and get back to your ROM as per their FULL instructions.

Semaphore kernel has recovery, you should be able to just flash over corn back to semaphore. I flashed a gb kernel over semaphore by accident (fat fingers and not paying attention). All I did was reflash semaphore and wiped caches and all was well. Hope it works out for you!!:fingers-crossed:

I was on stock rom and stock karnel... i flashed the kernal using odin, before that i tried to get in to recovery via a market app "rom manager" booted in to recovery just fine (with very limited recovery options though) i rebooted my phone (it rebooted just fine) and while on stock rom i turn off the phone and turn it back on then it got stuck 1st on at&t screen then on galaxy s screen, then i installed the corn karnal now its not stucking on at&t screen but stucking on corn karnal screen every time and not going onwards...
set is going into download mod and going in to old recovery as well by key combinations but the recovery can't detect the external sd card! thats y i though that semaphore karnel has advance recovery so i could try that!
if there is any way you can tell if i could put the zip rom in internal sd card please do let me know... that would be a thunder help!

When you say stock, which stock are you talking about? Froyo or GB? (2.2 and 2.3.5)
If your phone doesn't get pass the boot screens, you'll need to use Odin KK4 to bring it back. That being said, if you're on 2.2, you'll need to flash the bootloaders, if on 2.3.5, don't flash the bootloaders version.
From there, flash Corn kernel, get in recovery and flash the ROM you want to use.
Btw download mode is vol down + power.

Simply listen to me. Get Odin KK4 without bootloaders, flash it and then flash Corn kernel, You'll be fine after that.

Everything is fine but it should be with boot loaders. Or he can not enter into recovery even after flashing corn kernel. I faced the same problem and installed almost every stock rom but problem was solved after installing kk4 with bootloaders.

How did you get on Sepphi's ROM without it??
Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18370912&postcount=3
Please use the search next time, it's stickied in the Dev section. Also in 4-2ndtwin sig, there's all the links you'll need.

Flashing bootloaders is dangerous and if already on GB (2.3), he doesn't need to reflash them. Therefor, avoiding any chance of hard-bricking.

Hey! I got big problem, I can't open the recovery mode after updating my CyanogenMod to the latest RC4 version. After that i flashed Semaphore 2.9.25 kernel, and today I can't open recovery anymore After using Vol Up+Home+Power i see semaphore boot animation freezes for like 20 sec, then CM starts.
So what should I do to get into recovery mode again? I don't know if installing nightly updates will work (recovery doesn't work so how it will be updated), maybe using SGS Kernel Flasher will help?
Please help me solve my problem
Flash a rom with Odin
Go back to stock, try upgrade to CM10.1 again.
Alternatively if you want to learn how to use it you could try using ADB to force recovery. There are guides somewhere in these forums. But going back to stock would probably be easier...

Today I accidentally dropped my phone, and after back to home... I tried to open recovery CMW again - and it surprisingly worked so I was able to update my kernel
But thank you for future solutions, I'd further try to flash only kernel via Odin
