No. It will make your SD a total brick. That's why people make Apps2SD scripts and such so you can partition it and break it on purpose.

Sorry Fot The Guy Above He Kind a Nows It All
Welcome To XDA Lets See
Make an sd-part. its not harmfull of course it shortens a bit his life But They All Die Some Day You Can Partition Without Problems And Start Enjoying Extra Memory On Ace

Totally safe.....Nothing will happen to it....Using swap is harmful for your SD Card, partitioning it isn't...

Backup your sd card to your computer before as you will need to format it.

SD Card not detected...

Hallo...
I've installed 2 different custom ROMs with Stock Kernels by 2 different methods (xRcvry and CWM),
On both ROMs, the SD Card is not detected as if it is unmounted, even though physically it is, and I couldn't mount it even by xRcvry nor CWM..
When I connect the phone to PC, there is no options to connect, or charge, like it usually is.
What have I done wrong..? Can anyone please help me..?
I'd be really grateful.
I tried that multiboot a weeks ago...but my original Rom, the Rom installed to the phone, it mounted my as card...but the problem was the other Rom didn't mounted it.....i couldn't fix it...
Seems like u got a wrong step....
U partioned a swap ?

No, I didn't make any partitions...Should I..?
I didn't make any, because it's not part of the requirements for installing the custom ROM.
Btw, should the SD card be formatted into different file system, such as FAT, and not FAT32, prior to installing the custom ROM..?
From what I found here , the problem seems to be on the SD card class that we're suppose to use.
Mine is the original, which I believe is, class 2.
Could that be the same case as this...?

use card reader to check the format,,your sdcard must be FAT not NTFS
backup(just copy past all your folders) your sdcard then format it
turn on your phone WITHOUT sdcard..than turn on again WITH sdcard
now look..is it still not detect your sd card ,,

I've tried what you instructed (to format it from FAT32 into FAT), but, it's still unmounted (not detected)
Should I format it back to FAT32..?
What did I do wrong...?
Could it really be the card's class...???
Because, every time I flashed it back to Stock ROM by using SEUS, it always detects it.
I think it's sd card class....try a another card, don't buy a new... Just find a one from a friend or

can we use 8 gb sd card in our sgm & how use it?

my sd card fully filled.then i want 8 gb sd card.can we used? how used?which sd card is best for our device.
sent from sgm s5570.
yes, of course.
you will need to buy it first.
when you got it, you may need to turn off your device (if you're using app2sd which can't unmount your sd card) or unmount sd card from the settings. then open the micro sd card door on your device and detach your current micro sd card by pushing it in. It will bounce off and you can take it off.
put your new micro sd card there and push it. when it's in, close the door.
turn on your device or mount sd card from the settings.
done.
you may need to re-partition your sd card if you are using app2sd.
how hard is that?
Are you? .. retarded?

The most recommended partition table is:
First partition: FAT32
Second partition: EXT2 or EXT4 without journaling (usually 500 MB should be enough)
Third partition could be for swap, but I think nobody is using in our phones (we have enough memory and zRam helps a bit more).

View this video clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3jX3ARSOi4 for steps to format and partition a SD card using Amon RA recovery. BEFORE YOU FORMAT YOUR SD CARD, YOU NEED TO BACK UP THE CONTENTS TO YOUR PC FIRST BECAUSE EVERYTHING WILL BE WIPED OFF!!! You only need 1GB for your sd-ext partition and no swap. Once you have partitioned the SD card you need to upgrade the ext2 to ext3 then ext3 to ext4.
or install 4ext recovery. using that you can easily partition ur sd. thats the easiest way i guess

Yea. Totally agree with n1newbie. 4EXT Touch is the best recovery out there. I tried partitioning before using CWM, and it was a mess. 4EXT is way more reliable.

[Q] SD EXT problems

My phone is aging. Nowdays it keeps losing the sd card and since I'm using INT2EXT, the moment this happens, I have to wipe data. Even after getting the SD card back, it just doesn't boot after this happens.
The question is: Is there a reliable sd ext script that is compatible with every ROM and survives SD card loss? S2E is not compatible with many ROMs, Link2SD moves the apps, but when installing a new one, it still says out of space.
And I'm using EXT4 on a UH1 16 gig card.
And I've been using this script for over a year without a problem. The reason I'm sure that it's caused by the loss of the card is that when the phone is booted and I remove the card, it goes into bootloop just like when this random loss happens. And I'm using Badass 1.9, so no logcat.
You can use cron mod.

Cronmod INT2EXT. That's what I'm using now.
Best choice is Link2sd plus because it links internal data too so you solve the space error problembut unfortunately you have to pay for it.

If there is no other way... Or maybe I will just keep a backup and try to hold up until I get a new phone. It should happen around x-mas which is not exactly now. I think I will end up with link2sd plus. Thanks for suggesting.
Here is another script for galaxy mini and I don't think that it's INT2EXT and did you partition your SD card with CWM partitioning?
