the only thing i see that i am 90 something percent sure isn't possible is the black buttons with white text. the rest of it should be very doable. looks really cool by the way.

first screen shot, in the part that displays the carrier name. while the color for that particular button can be modded to be white, if you have the button images that dark of a color, then they will not be visible throughout the rest of the system where black text is used.

Agreed, the white text on button might not be doable, but rest of it seems easy to pull off. I actually have something with the black/cyan color combo in the works, its not what you're looking for but you get the idea.

I do like that launcher bar you have in your mockups though. Sorta wanting to see how it'd look in my theme with some things replaced and changed around now.
But as far as your theme, I'm sure it's highly doable, just need to get a working metamorph and start editing the included image to your liking really.

Regarding the first response, I think he meant since we have limitations on what text we can change colors of, the black button is possible but the text on top of that will stay black..its not something we can change easily.
As far as metamorph questions, I highly prefer metamorph theme template now a days because it does away with signing and flashing an entire update.zip everytime you change some minor images. The theme in the screenshot is being built using only metamoprh format. Plus theres no need to constantly reboot (unless of course you change something in frameworks) everytime you apply changes. And yes with metamorph you can change top bar into any colors. But the top bar is just an image, you change that and you'll be able to change it anything you like. Just keep in mind all the little icons that go along with it have to change. They're all located in frameworks-res folder.
I suggest if you do go through metamorph method, that you find the black-bar mods theme in metamorph format, it gives you a nice base to start with and it has the white text edits already done for you. This way you don't have to worry about hex editing and such and just focus on changing the images.

My opinion over update.zip or metamorph??

You get a larger group using your theme as to an update.zip.........you limit just to users using a specific rom

last i checked, it is doable. if you change the button to black (status_bar_clear_background or something like that), you can use colorchange to make the clear button text white (clear=FFFFFFFF).
also, as i mentioned in the .Remix theme concept thread. get people to help you in PMs. i'm glad to see that you are willing to take the time to learn themes unlike the other thread. there are many people on here who know how to theme and i'm sure are willing to help you. your theme looks nice and seems very doable to me. good luck to you; hopefully this thread does not become another experion thread.

@Prash i just replaced a few tray/drawer images from Android-2.0-Stock metamorph theme and it worked! im relly excited to see how this turns out. As for changing the font colors i will hold out on that for the moment, i will work around the system font color to make the theme.

if you need any help as to where things are and how to edit/place certain files, i have some time today and tomorrow. PM me. so far you're doing this the right way with actual edits to the theme. good job. also, edit the battery color to match your teal. it would flow better. since you're going for a sleek look, try adding some gloss to your status bar since the one in your mock up seems too solid (kinda like an in and out gradient black-grey-black...not feeling it IMO). however, it may look nice, i guess the notif icons are messing it up since they have a diff background than the status bar.

I like where this is going..........only one suggestion, make the lockpattern cyan too,,if possible...otherwise awesome job!!!!

yeah he did an amazing job on those. however, since this seems like a sleek look, it'd be nice if he could make new icons to match the sleekness. black and teal icons (if you saw a while ago, randumaccess had found a an icon set from deviant art that was white and teal. if you could find those and invert them and colorize them to black and teal, that would look very nice/modern.

With this version you will notice that just about everything has been redone. I have expanded the style scheme with some animations, shadowing effects and reconfigured the font scheme as well. Plus many, many more!
You should notice some overall speed increases, a new UI appeal and potentially less battery usage.
Once again, I strongly recommend wiping your dalvik-cache to get the most from this release.

The lock screen zip from adrynalyne in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10580111&postcount=57 will give you a nice green/gray themed AOSP lock screen to replace the puzzle lock.

Found a small graphical bug, the buttons at the bottom of the dialer are not aligned. They are off to the left.

I noticed that as well. Also on menus where you hit "more" to get more options the second pop-up is still the transparent black that is hard to read.

Theme looks awesome...only thing im not a huge fan of is the popup menu's being green, black would have been better in my opinion but the theme is awesome...good work

You could ask him if you could just include it but its not necessary. If you just flash adryns zip after the theme it will replace it and the theme will take hold for the new lock screen too.

I haven't got around to asking yet but I did take a look at it. It appears the android.policy is the only thing changed. So yes you can flash this over.
I am partial to my puzzle lock but I do have this done and merged into the full theme. After I get his ok I can upload a new zip. This way people can pick the puzzle lock version or aosp lock version.

As you can see, this is my first post here. The work you all do is unbelievable, so thanks for it all! With that said, I have an issue. Hatespawn, you're saying I can flash Adryn's zip after this theme, and it should replace the puzzle lock? If so, it doesn't seem to be working for me. Running DL09 modem, 1230 nonvoodoo kernel. The puzzle lock screen persists. I've tried flashing it via CWM both with and without wiping data/cache. What am I doing wrong?

Wow, this looks great! The only thing I don't like is the font, how hard would it be to change it to something sans serif? At some point I want to learn how to do this myself but i haven't found a good tutorial or instructions yet, although i imagine it's not too hard.

[Q] Themed swype keyboard (Beta 3.0)

Has anyone themed the Swype keyboard since the 3.0 Beta was released?
I am running Phoenix 8.0 and love my current ROM, but lost my Swype theming when I installed the latest Beta.
I remember replacing the Swype.apk and the Swypelibcore.so files last time I lost my theming (Phoenix 7.0), but I don't know if I can just just pull those out of the 8.0 version of the ROM, put them in the system folder and have it work given the new way Swype has laid the 'word suggestion' feature out this time.
Does anyone know of a solution?

I am currently under the 3.0 Beta as well. Is it possible to have the stock 3.0 colors reversed? Like the light blue would be the main theme with the clean gray being the highlight? I am running PaulDiddyRemix1.5 theme with a lot of blue hinted apps as well. Over all theme being Blue-LiteBlue with Gray and Carbon accenting it. I am not looking to mod anything in the Swype3.0 Beta other than colors. I have already gone thru the learning curve and fly once again, lol.

It is a Transparent Black/Blue Theme. Not sure how much help this will be. maybe a dark carbon/white gloss keyboard and a LightBlue/MidnightBlue glow and letters. If you could do a Transparent Smoke Gray(like in the notification Bar pik) Keyboard with LightBlue/MidnightBlue Glow and letters, that would be more on point. But honestly, I dont know how it wil look till it gets wrapped together. lol.

I am looking for something all black, with white letters, a green swype line, green accents, and a green glow (as the Phoenix 8.0 ROM is themed green, I wanted to try and stay with a similar color scheme).
The screen on the far right is similar to the colors I have now.

Can you do one exactly like this but without the little boxes around the letters (essentially all black)
and can I manually remove the russian from the bottom of some of those letters?

Did you see the themed Swype in the PaulDiddy Remix theme in the i9000 forums? You could extract it from the theme and make it flashable for CWM.

I did, but the background is to bright and cannot be changed. at least i havent found the setting for it, if it even has a setting.
but the main thing i am going for is 3.6Beta friendly. Not looking to revert back to older swype.
btw, just got my phone completely installed, now will this work with the official swype 3.6beta? it is called swype 3.0beta but the version is 3.6.something, lol. if so, than i would just delete the swype.apk itself and paste this version in/clear cache/dalvik, reboot, recovery, fix permission.
sorry, long weekend, just when i had my Cappy completely set-up APEX7.2 came out and Talon released updated stable versions. lol. so i am blind now. lol.

good subject. anyone found out if the beta is free to theme or not? what part of beta does this matter? apk? libcore? the entire beta packed together?

found this under blue melody - "themed" swype beta 3.0
looks like very little themed on it though. but what version is it? i think swype is at 3.6.-something.

Will these work with the EVO 4G? Are you supposed to install like an APK or morph it? Thanks.

Bug list: clock widgets not themed, gmail gone (maby my bad) menu list is gray (system settings, help, wallpaper etc) klicking on some buttons in like browser glows up in blue.. some blue lines in frequently called and some in people. (maby right)
what i miss: more purple gapps and purple icons. (like in your black ics theme) purple power control, more glow around widgets and windows (maby?), More purple over all ^^
Other then that you made a beautiful port my friend!! very spiritual color! good for us!!
But i bet you already working on some of that stuff

Just flashed this....looks absolutely great but a few things to mention....the messaging app icon turned grey and phone app icon stayed the same color(blue)..
On a more important note I lost my gmail application...it's in system/app but it said it's not installed..going to flash the backup and see if it comes back
Edit: flashed backup from universal flasher and and gmail came back
Edit 2:...just noticed my led notification...would flash orange on new notifications after I flashed the blackpurple theme for 7.3...flashes green on this version (kind of liked it flashing orange better..know it's supposed to be green tho)

It makes a difference, what kind of notification comes in. Also if it charge or not. The theme cannot change the color of the led. I have to read about that when I come home. Then I can tell you more.
Gmail is a little tricky. For some it works. For some not. Did it work before the theme? And did you flashed over another theme? That can cause that too.
And on the icons I'm working. Not all finished.

I full wiped when I upgraded to 7.4 and gmail was working, but when I flashed the theme the application was removed out of the notification drawer and I had no access to it for some reason. Didn't flash any other theme or anything..
As far as the led...I noticed that while on 7.3, using the blackpurple theme, anytime I got a missed call or something my led would flash orange even when off the charger..I didn't really have time to notice the color before I flashed the theme tho (flashed it right after booting the ROM). I didn't think that the theme would cause the change but it was the only thing I did to mod the ROM..so I was a little confused. I'm not familiar with different notifications causing different color led..but either way it's not too big of a deal..just thought it was a unique change from flashing green all the time

Just installed the T-MOgenta theme and applied it, but I'm not seeing the results as shown above. I wasn't using a theme before, but applied the default one again to be sure. The wallpaper changes, as does some other areas, but to an orange hue instead of magenta.
I did change my DPI to 500 using the ADB shell command. Could that affect it?

The DPI is what caused it. I reverted to a standard size, and the theme applied as shown in the previews above.
@fryingpan0613 Any chance of getting the theme to support varying DPIs? If possible with the restrictions LG puts in place, that is.

I guess my replies yesterday didn't go through... I can mess with the other dpi and see what happens after I finish the theme I'm working on. I've never really touched the other DPI since these were for xxxhdpi.

Awesome I'm glad you liked it! That's one that most don't like because it's "boring", but sometimes simple is nice. As far as the icons, I don't touch any icons because I personally hate when not all apps carry the same theme, and I can only touch LG icons so I just leave them stock on all themes.

Yeah, that's how I feel too. I'd rather the icons just be left alone if they can't all be themed. I don't mind stock colored apps, it's when only a few change that it drives me batty.

Just got the aquifier theme and I absolutely love it. It makes much better use of the oled display than the white default theme does and I love the color blue. (I've always been a sucker for the way that android ics and jellybean looked).
I have the Verizon v30 vs996 and the theme works fine. I had to get the theme from the play store and go into homescreen settings and theme to apply it.

I'm getting close to finishing this theme for the normal resolution, then I'll probably go and do the other resolutions for those that change dpi before I release it. This one has taken awhile because I have to change basically everything for this theme to work.
I actually started this on the v20 but I didn't get it to my satisfaction before turning it in for the v30 so it never got released.

I made a few really different themes on the v20, but they weren't popular. Like I made one that was desert digital camo themed, I loved it but it was a massive flop. I made a really awesome red white and blue theme too.

I like that it's darker than white, but not blacked out. I know there's a "white UI must die" obsession with AMOLED devices, but then all devices just look the same.

Finally the Purple Nights theme is complete and published, including support for other DPI and screen resolutions in settings (settings > display > screen resolution). This theme has taken awhile to complete, I have been working on it since I got my V30, and I spent a few weeks on it for the v20 (it was never released) before that. The lower resolutions have to be manually resized and repatched, so it will take a while before I can get all my previous themes up to date with the resolution fixes since I basically have to recreate the theme 2 more times at lower sizes.
