Hello everyone.
My problem is, upon connecting with any of the PC/Laptop USB port, the phone is not showing the options of USB connection (like USB Mass Storage, Charge Only etc.) I have installed ADB Drivers, HTC Sync 3.0, and with my own Laptop, other mobiles like HTC Wildfire is being detected with ease.
This problem started occurring after I flashed CM7.2 RC2. Then I installed RC5. No luck. After that I've flashed 3 new ROMs from Nik. But none of them managed to give me that option.
I'm learning android app development and want to access my phone camera from the application. Emulator cannot give me this access. So it is a must for me to be able to see the logcat messages of the real hardware (i.e. HTC Incredible S that I own) in order to see the exception etc.
As I mentioned before, this is a problem of the device itself because the options are not available on any computer at all. I myself have 3 systems and none of them detects my phone. Yes, windows7, Linux none of them detects that a hardware is attached to it.
Upon launching "adb devices" no phone is listed. I tried google but no luck.
This problem is preventing me from developing my app. Please help ASAP.
Thank you for your time.
Works Mass Storage?
Tried another USB Cable?
Maybe delete HTC Sync. And if that not works, reinstall the drivers.
If nothing works, maybe you USB Port is broke...

does it charge OK, with USB to PC, or with battery charger?
mine has played up a couple of times recently, I was down to 3% battery and I could not get the phone to detect the charger, either with phone switched on or turned off. I got a bit worried!
all I done was give the USB port a good blow out (with my mouth, lips just away from the port), assuming there was fluff or dust in it - it seemed to work! it connects first time every time now.

Tried 3 cables, Removed and reinstalled HTC Sync.
USB port may be broke is a good option but, how to make sure that is the problem?

Yes, Charging as normal, battery works normal.
Gave a lot of blows. Didn't work either.
I came across a page from cyanogen mod which displayed the same problem but there was no answer. All I could read was "change to RC5". As I have already done that, that doesn't seem to be an option.
I have the same problem. Tried different PC's and cables but no luck. I don't even know exactly when it started.
So you are not alone

I've already void my warranty by S-OFF. And now can't do anything to get S-ON again. As USB port is not working.
I was thinking to try all the possible solutions before I go to the customer care which is 500kms away from where I live.
Just a shot in the dark, but do you have USB debugging enabled?

I had the same issue. I uninstalled my drivers for the phone, then reinstalled them.
Just had my phone sent to the LG service center last week because it bootloops everytime it is removed from usb port. Started awhile back with random restarts then suddenly phone turns off everytime someone calls and finally only usable if connected to usb.
had it repaired and the service center replaced the motherboard + battery. They told me it was a result of either flactuating or overcharging, but I havent one of those. Could it be because of my different usb cord? I use a nokia mini usb cord because the original LG cord got lost.
Now i'm afraid to use it until I buy a new usb cord.

Im using the one that came with my optimus and I have the same issues. Its rated 150W ( Speaking from memory ) but when charging it through Computer USB ( 75W ) its fine.
As your battery doesn't get to hot I can't see how it can affect your phone. I'm not a a guru on this so I might be wrong.

I have the same issues too! When I charge my OB the touch goes crazy :| and when I try to write a SMS for example, it writes letters by itself for a couple of minutes. Why it is happening this? Why is the phone acting weird? :|

Anywaays, i figured it won't happen again so i bought a new usb cord, Hytac USB 2.0 to be exact... i'm not sure if it really works, but so far so good. It says in the box that it supports data transfer AND charge soooo. it's okay then?
The head office of LG also told the service center said that it could have been the result of charging while the phone has a case on (i usually had a rubberized case on it)

Hi everybody,
The Micro USB of my Galaxy Note is broken, I can therefore no more use it to charge the battery and no more connect it to the computer. Thankfully I can charge the battery using an external charger. The problem is that I have no operating system loaded in the device and I can no more boot to the custom recovery (CWM). The device is rooted, I can only start the bootloader of the device.
So, my question is: Is there a way to flash a custom recovery or anyway to flash a ROM from bootloader without connecting to the PC? Is there a way to use SDCARD to repair the device? Anyway to resolve the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Your only choice is to replace the usb port. Without recovery you can't install custom roms from the micro sd and without pc connection, you can't install stock roms or connect via adb.

Thank you for your answer. Do you think I can link the 4 cables that are inside the USB cable to the Micro USB port pins of the device ? I mean to do it temporarily to connect the device to the PC. May it work that way?

Here is a cut and paste of my post from another thread. it will be useful to you.
take a look at your original usb port and put it next to the imitation cheap board from ebay. you will see that it looks exactly the same at first glance but at close inspection you will notice different labeling. I have bought 6 boards from ebay from different sources and all were bad. some with no sound, one wont charge, one will turn off the phone when I connect the charger.
Now I have established what a real usb port looks like with the conductive tape covering the back antenna. I have ordered 2 parts from 2 sources who have confirmed all the original marking and labels on their parts. they claim its original and OEM. so give me time so I can receive the item, install and test it. then I will give my review.
meanwhile you can look at these 2 different sellers. I think they have original parts.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261224231849...84.m1497.l2649
parts4repair.com has working ones for sure. Lot of ebay sold are found faulty, if you search the threads.
Also make sure you get the proper revision
yeah... make sure no get a low quality Charger port flex cable. THe low quality one really troublesome i just waste and replacet 2 useless port in half year due to purchase low quality one....
NOw hoping the third one dont fail me in short time.

If you have tried different cables, different usb sources, then the logical conclusion is your data port / phone is bad.
Id start to contact HTC as most places wont mess with a data port..
OR try to find a local reputable repair place and see if they can diagnose / fix it.
Did you have a custom recovery on it? (If so, which one?)

My HTC One stopped charging.
I am unsure what is wrong, but it will not charge from the wall, USB, and Power bank.
What is bizarre is that USB OTG is still functioning properly. I was able to back everything up using OTG before it ran out of battery.
Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
Edit: So it turns out, it will charge when it is turned off, but very very slowly.
when i charge it while its off, the charging LED cycles from red to orange and then it turns off (which triggers the charging animation).

I'm currently on MaximusHD, with its supplied kernel.
I've tried all sorts of charger, and none of them will charge it while its on.
The odd thing is, i haven't changed any settings. So I don't think its related to me messing around with ROMs and such.
This is odd... fastboot from the bootloader is working fine.
On my mac side, 'fastboot devices' is seeing my htc one and is replying with the correct S/N. while still in the bootloader my htc one is being displayed as 'Android 1.0' under 'system information'.
I honestly don't know what is happening, and I am currently in the middle of my exam week, so I'll be digging a little bit deeper after I'm done with my exams.
I haven't found anyone with a similar symptom as me on xda yet... so if anyone's got any suggestions, please chip in.
Thanks.
Sounds a bit odd. You said you tried different chargers. Did you try a different cable as well. You may have to try another Rom just to rule it out. Might be hardware related...

Yep, different cable as well.
Seems unrelated to the rom tho. As it will not charge in bootloader and or recovery.
I'm going to try to flash a different ROM when i'm done with my exams.
Also, would you think it would be safe for me to try and achieve s-off with only fastboot working? As i would need to remove the 'tempered' sign from the bootloader before bringing my phone to repair.
I don't know if this will be useful...
But here's the readout from fastboot getvar.
Yes absolutely s off your phone to remove it. Rumrunner or Firewater should work on that. Personally I'm not sure if changing roms would make a difference but probably worth trying

Would Rumrunner or firewater still work? I currently cant establish any adb connection... but fastboot is working tho.
Edit: I looked into firewater, which seems to be 100% adb dependent. So I guess firewater wont work.
I'm not sure about rumrunner tho... it seems to indicate that it'll check for an adb connection... but im not sure if it utilizes adb.
I recently had the same problem running Android Revolution 62, i didnt plug in my phone overnight and it completely ran dead and wouldnt take a charge at all, all i basically had to do was plug it in to the wall charger for like 10 minutes and hold the volume up and power button for a few seconds and BOOM! the little battery icon popped up on the screen and i was all set.
One thing im wondering about though is do you have to somehow reset your battery stats after this happens ??

Hey, thanks for the input.
My phone started having this issue on sunday. And i'm still able to use the device. The Issue i'm experiencing is that it will not charge while powered on, even in safe mode, bootloader, and or recovery. It just flat out won't charge. to make matters worse, fastboot is working fine in the bootloader, the pc is recognizing it. But as soon as i boot up, my PC and mac will not even recognize it. nothing is showing. The only time that its being recognized by the computer is when its in fastboot mode and for a few seconds while booting up, it'll be recognized as MTP device.
Have you checked that the drivers are installed in device manager. If fastboot works it's likely a driver issue

To be honest with you, i'm not sure if the driver is working (mac user). But even if the driver is installed incorrectly, wouldn't windows device manager thing still pick it up as a generic device? and from my understanding, the phone should still charge even without the correct driver.
Not for charging I was talking more about getting adb working to s off your phone. I think you should probably send your phone back

Well, the thing is, non of my computers are recognizing it via ADB (Macbook, Hackintosh, and Windows), so that pretty much rules out the driver issue. I am planning on sending it back, but I really should get rid of the UNLOCK and TEMPERED sign in hboot...
On another note, if i do bring it in for repairs, what approach should i take? Bring it in without any charge left and tell them it won't charge? or bring it in powered on, and use some other excuse (dead pixels, and or the purple tint) to get repaired?
Also, i've noticed that when I'm charging it while its off, the whole phone would heat up quite a bit (similar to medium/ heavy usage temperature| my estimate would be 40-45 celsius). And it charges really slowly, I would say around 10-20% per hour, while it would make sense to charge slowly, the charger(s) are also heating up quite a bit as well, almost like they're supplying 800-900mA of current.
I've just loaded the stock rom, and sadly, charging and adb is still not working.
any solutions to this? i am having same problem. its barely charging in adb, fastboot, or whether its on . somehow phone isn't charging at all.
