Sorry if anyone started such a topic, I couldn't be able to find one.
Does anyone have any difficulty with G-Sensor? It act as like it is flipped in games for me. I use Perfect View(er?) to read comic books and its all ok but when I launch a game which uses G-sensor (I mean screen not orientated by game itself but changes depending the Kindle's position). Anyone has any solutions or same problem?

The only fix i found was to download Ultimate Rotation Control.
Locked mine into landscape mode and now all my games play right side up

well...that's really a clever solution. Thanks!
I should have thought about that.

The phone can change to landscape mode in browser and photo viewer when i rotate it. But i don't know how to change it in other application, any ideas??
I don't think you can without some other addon program.
go to settings, system, screen, and its there?
I have checked there is nothing related to screen orientation under screen setting

According to the guy at coolsmartphone, it only works in the photo and web browser apps.
He clearly said he can change it in browser and photos. His accelerometer is fine. What he wants to know is how to manually rotate the screen in apps that don't support the accelerometer.

And as i pointed out above, it doesnt work unless your in the photo browser or web browser applications.
Im pretty sure given time, just like the Nokia N95 8gb which has a built in accelerometer, someone will program an app that woudl allow you to rotate the screen no matter what application or program you are running. At the moment on my N95 8GB phone, i have a neat little program called rotateme that does that function.

The word manual is crucial here. Windows Mobile devices can have the screen rotated manually, in the settings. The accelerometer has nothing to do with that.
Wow what a mess...
Spawn12: My comment was directed at 'walshieau', not you. He suggested his accelerometer was broken.
Dark Fire: Yeah that option isn't there on the diamond. The guy one coolsmartphone tried to look for it in one of the videos. 'ngod' also can't see it. Thats why i said you'd need some third party hack/program to do it.

Wow...That's quite rare. I wonder if the relevant registry entries are still there, and working. If they are, that's good. If they aren't that's really random.

Just a guess, but maybe it freaked out their accelerometer/flor3d stuff so they just removed it. I'm sure the registry entries and API are still there to do it tho.

Yep your right, i updated mine a week ago and it does come with the rotate function built in...took them long enough to enable it lol.
ok an update, it ONLY works while you have opera browser open, and there is NO WAY to change it at the moment without an application doing it...

Yeah, I've been wondering for a while about what would happen in Opera and whatever else is affected by the accelerometer, if you had the Touch Diamond in landscape mode. Would everything rotate such that it would never be the right way up for you to read it?

yes it does, when closing Opera it reverts back...
AE Button Plus
AE button plus can do it when not in touchflo 3D . tested.
you can assign a hard button to rotate the screen.
ok i cant believe no one knows this but htc have disabled the screen rotation. has nothing to do with the g sensor. its disabled bc touchflo3d has been developed only for portrait and not landscape. other apps like the youtube app have also been designed for that. the manilla keyboard on the diamond has also been designed pretty much only for portrait. it just has a landscape qwerty layout.
its ment to be like the iphone where its portrait most of time. if you can overwrite the files within the windows folder im pretty sure u can bring it back. might be some registry too.
so I downloaded the latest diamond album to my kaiser to try it out and I like it but I can't rotate the picture the same way I could with the htcalbum... So I looked at the help file and saw that to rotate the picture all I had to do was turn the phone.. WOAH.. but didn't work... obv. I've been doing some research and it seems possible that we could trigger the screen rotation by turning the phone. It uses the camera to figure out your position.. Now I'm not nearly good enough at this stuff to figure it out on my own, but I did find a little game that is supposed to move the snake based on the movement of the camera, this might be a good place to start, but I couldn't even get the game working.. it's called "CC snake" (attached below) Looking for some ideas, maybe ripping out the controls from the game is a place to start?
http://www.clutch-productions.com/ccsnake.cab
I can confirm that this program runs on my old SDA (wm5 smartphone)... still get an error when trying it on my tilt
Dunno if this is relevant or not but a short while ago, i saw a website where someone had used the camera on a Nokia mobile (i think the phone was a 6600) to create a wireless optical mouse. You had the screen in the palm of your hand and the two hardware buttons were left click and right click. I believe the data was sent over bluetooth. It probably uses a similar technique to work out the direction of travel as you would use to work out orientation.
I haven't been able to find the original website but i did find this
www.comp.lancs.ac.uk/~sheridaj/publications/2005/PERMIDPointingDevices.pdf
which seems to be a paper about using a mobile phone camera as a pointing device. I haven't read it through as i'm at work but it could be useful?
I seem to remember the original site having code samples. If i find it, ill post the link.
(Tried to upload the pdf but the file is too big, sorry )
Edit: I believe i found some more info
here are some more links:
http://www.pyrofersprojects.com/blog/?page_id=41 - This guy reckons he's done it but he's not giving out the code
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT1h_ITR0G0 - The video i found, the related videos section looks like it might have some answers.
Please stop me if this isn't helpful!!

you can control via motion - that's unquestionable. The problem with the 'mouse' concept is that the cam is right up against the table, so there's no light and hence no contrast, so, you can't lock.
if it is true though - i's cool, but in my mind, pointless. why not use a Mouse instead?

according to the guy's site, its for replacing a travel mouse or if you need a spare! pretty cool imo but i agree about the light source. Theres something not right about that video, did you check the others?

ok, here's what he says.
"Things didnt go entirely smoothly of course. The first thing everybody is probably saying is, but the camera only shows black when its flat on the mousepad! You are of course right, Light is needed. My temporary solution is to hold the phone about .6cm above the pad, letting light in the side. My camera picks up enough to see at this distance."
don't see him do that in the video, and the window which he moves on the screen stops for a couple of seconds right before the camera points at the phone. that's why i said it's bullocks. i'm no programmer, we've done a couple of games for eyeToy, so i know you need light and contrast. (that's obvious) notice in the link i posted the guys were wearing contrasting, flat t-shirts. (Blue t-shirt/yellow block etc) not sure that Monster of a camera on that Nokia can handle patternless black surface (mousepad from the video, even at 6cm).
EDIT : Ok - just noticed he sais .6cm , not 6 .
so, half a cm... .. i don't know...
anyway - i'm open minded... might as well be true.
so has anyone been able to get the game ccsnake to work on their kaiser? might be a place to start.
what about using a glow in the dark material as a mouse pad ?
Any ideas about this?

Do you know which version of MAME it is? ive tried Techmasters MegaCE3 but I did'nt see any option to map the keys to the screen as in the video
No, sorry. No idea.
Edit: Could try PocketCult though. It is a possibility as it allows control redefinitions.

With this application "emulator NEOGEO and CAPCOM for PocketPC" you can set the commands on Display. We put the name because I'm not sure that the regulation allows Link to external sites.
On that site where you will find the emulator, and also a link to another site for ROMS free.
This emulator uses ROMS (cps1, cps2 and neogeo)
i've tried pocketGBA but the game is too slow. Maybe with PocketSNES..
The problem is that the youtube type seems to be very good emulator...
and "final burn"?
Anyone else have the issue where no matter what I set as my default calendar view, when I open it up it automatically goes to "Agenda" view?
It opens in Month, but ehn immediately changes to Agenda...very annoying I think
Anyone else experienced this? Any solution?
Cheers
Not something I've come across myself, but I'd advise setting the preferences the way you want it then making sure the Calendar app is properly closed (as opposed to just minimised) using the Task Manager to try and get your preferred settings to 'stick'. It's probably worth doing a quick soft reset at that point as well just to be on the safe side.
I must have changed the settings a million times - like I say though, the weird thing is it starts in month mode but changes then to agenda...
Also dont seem to be able to get the phone name to stick - keeps changing to htc_593 or some numbers...
ah well!
Actually, I've just noticed if I open it through programs it does stay on month, it's only if I open it from the today screen...must just be the way it's set up.
Try a search because this topic has been covered before and a tweak was suggested

I do not have any problem with this so don't need a tweak. However I can remember a few weeks ago reading about somebody else who did suggested something that he said solved it. If I had tried it or remembered it I would have explained it in my post
However you seem a keen and helpful poster ever willing to help others so why don't YOU try it. Or maybe come up with some other really positive suggestion
So i installed and open AOE, but the game rotate to the right side. I cant play the game with the keyboard slide out because when the keyboard is out, the game would be upside. Is there a way to rotate the game to the left side like normal? thanks
In alot of games and apps for PocketPC they have settings to sontrol which way it flips, in fact, it would be really stupid not to, because alot of phones flip the other way as well.
If all else fails, try looking for a settings file to edit the screen rotation and display resolution, or even attempt using WVGA fix if your that desperate.

Well, ive used a few ppc before i use x1. They all had the option to rotate both ways. On X1 there's only rotating to the left. Ive check every options in the game itself and theres no such option. That's why i post this question here.
