the framerate for quake 1 i think is very good, for quake II it is acceptable, but im sure would be better if we had some 3D drivers.
i got quake 1 and 2 here:

Which version of the binary did you use, the Magician "AUX1" one, or the "AUX5" one? I'm having trouble trying to figure out which button is which, and how to back out of the video menu once I've selected landscape mode. (Probably half my problem is that I have conflicting bind commands in autoexec.cfg which override config.cfg. I'm still working on it.)
Can you please post the bind commands you use in your own config.cfg / autoexec.cfg? It looks from the video like you've got it set up pretty well.

o yes i completely forgot about all that.
i used bind AUX 5. this makes it so the camera button is used as the esc menu. pressing the AF will bring up the menu and pressing the camera button fully goes back. here is my files for quake and quake 2. copy them to the ID folder.
. = fire
m = strafe right
n = strafe left
space = jump.
k = switch weapon (or press fn and then the number)
Start menu = console
Camera + AF = Menu and Menu back.
those are the main controls, you can figure out the rest from there.
hope it works.
Gotta get this in the next week. Too many good times with these 2 games. Very nice!
Hm.. i also installed these Quake Versions on my new TyTN II (i got it last friday )
But my framerate is lower than yours :-(
I didn´t installed much programs yet.. hm..
is there a code, to let me show the framerate during the gameplay?

im not sure how to enable framerate. your framerate is slower for which one? quake or quake 2? if it's quake 2 then try these files.

Open console and type "timedemo demo1". Wait for playing the demo to the end and then open the console again. Look at the last Line for your Frames Per Second.
btw. I have only 18 FPS at 240x180 on my Kaiser. My good old Himalaya is faster!
How do you get rid of the bottom bar and make it go into landscape mode?
Ok.. i got 19.0Fps ;-)
But i found out, why is was so slow at mine..
i used the touchscreen while playing..
it seems, that the TyTN II has a problem to draw things on screen, while pressing something on touchscreen..
I read some other posts, they also had this problem on other games (like emulators (snes i.e.))
I hope HTC will release a fix for this and the 3d / OpenGL Problem

i uploaded a cfg file after my first post, use that one, it automaticly starts in landscape mode. i gave a brief description of the main controls.

The phone can change to landscape mode in browser and photo viewer when i rotate it. But i don't know how to change it in other application, any ideas??
I don't think you can without some other addon program.
go to settings, system, screen, and its there?
I have checked there is nothing related to screen orientation under screen setting

According to the guy at coolsmartphone, it only works in the photo and web browser apps.
He clearly said he can change it in browser and photos. His accelerometer is fine. What he wants to know is how to manually rotate the screen in apps that don't support the accelerometer.

And as i pointed out above, it doesnt work unless your in the photo browser or web browser applications.
Im pretty sure given time, just like the Nokia N95 8gb which has a built in accelerometer, someone will program an app that woudl allow you to rotate the screen no matter what application or program you are running. At the moment on my N95 8GB phone, i have a neat little program called rotateme that does that function.

The word manual is crucial here. Windows Mobile devices can have the screen rotated manually, in the settings. The accelerometer has nothing to do with that.
Wow what a mess...
Spawn12: My comment was directed at 'walshieau', not you. He suggested his accelerometer was broken.
Dark Fire: Yeah that option isn't there on the diamond. The guy one coolsmartphone tried to look for it in one of the videos. 'ngod' also can't see it. Thats why i said you'd need some third party hack/program to do it.

Wow...That's quite rare. I wonder if the relevant registry entries are still there, and working. If they are, that's good. If they aren't that's really random.

Just a guess, but maybe it freaked out their accelerometer/flor3d stuff so they just removed it. I'm sure the registry entries and API are still there to do it tho.

Yep your right, i updated mine a week ago and it does come with the rotate function built in...took them long enough to enable it lol.
ok an update, it ONLY works while you have opera browser open, and there is NO WAY to change it at the moment without an application doing it...

Yeah, I've been wondering for a while about what would happen in Opera and whatever else is affected by the accelerometer, if you had the Touch Diamond in landscape mode. Would everything rotate such that it would never be the right way up for you to read it?

AE Button Plus
AE button plus can do it when not in touchflo 3D . tested.
you can assign a hard button to rotate the screen.
ok i cant believe no one knows this but htc have disabled the screen rotation. has nothing to do with the g sensor. its disabled bc touchflo3d has been developed only for portrait and not landscape. other apps like the youtube app have also been designed for that. the manilla keyboard on the diamond has also been designed pretty much only for portrait. it just has a landscape qwerty layout.
its ment to be like the iphone where its portrait most of time. if you can overwrite the files within the windows folder im pretty sure u can bring it back. might be some registry too.
Hi,
I recently bought a program called mobiletide. It enables you to see what the tide is anywhere in the world. Great for watersport/sea fanatics! http://www.mobiletide.co.uk/
Does anyone use this? If so how on earth do I access the program?!? I have it installed but it does not work! This is the email sent from the company;
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Will, you need to find the shortcut command keys with the handset (*) and
(#) on your keypad will action the same command as the conventional soft keys. it does take a bit of research but all the commands are there to navigate/select, etc.
Regards,
Dan

Cheers in advance,
Will

I am confused - It installs it into the JBlend program. It runs on Java. Do you have it working on your device?
Will
oh right, sorry didnt realise it was Java!
no i dont use it
if you open Jblend, it should be there in the window that opens.
My guess is that William is asking how to use the program because Mobile Tide is expecting a normal mobile phone keypad and he hasn't got one so he can't issue any commands to the app
Am I right?
EDIT: @William, It looks like MT uses the D Pad for menu navigation and sets up on screen soft keys (I'd try it but there's no downloadable demo ), maybe you could describe what happens when you start the app.

ctide doesn't seem to have any U.K. locations in the database, not very useful if you do your sailing in England/Wales

I can't it to work anyway - according to the website; 1.1 should have eliminated the bug I am experiencing! Loads and then crashes. I won't bother trying to sort it out anymore but try and resolve my current mobiletide problem! Thank-you very much for all your help.....

Hi Will, I don't have GRemote but from the highlight on your Programs screen it looks like that was also running.
How about a soft reset and look for Mobile Tide again?
Go into to Programs>All Programs, find Mobile tide and run it again.

Seems like every one I find or try, the virtual keyboard won't come up. Either someone with an Eris comments that about our phone, or I personally try it and can't get it working.
So anyone out there find a good app that plays nice with Eris? Or if I'm just doing it wrong, any pointers?

I use 'Android Terminal Emulator' along with 'Full Keyboard' since the Eris doesn't have the physical keyboard. You can find them both in the market.
Sorry if anyone started such a topic, I couldn't be able to find one.
Does anyone have any difficulty with G-Sensor? It act as like it is flipped in games for me. I use Perfect View(er?) to read comic books and its all ok but when I launch a game which uses G-sensor (I mean screen not orientated by game itself but changes depending the Kindle's position). Anyone has any solutions or same problem?
