Hey everyone,
Sorry if I'm a noob. I'm a newbie, so I'm not too firm on the rules.
I'm running:
Base: CM10
Kernel: Semaphore
Rom: C-RoM BeaN v1.9.0 ETA
I flashed the latest version of C-RoM BeaN this morning and then restored everything, etc.
I opened the Google Play Store and it told me to update the YouTube app to version 4.1.23, and it didn't work, sending me an error message.
I then attempted to install an apk of the latest version, and that failed, giving me the message "Application not installed. An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed."
However, the correct solution to this that I found is:
- Delete the Youtube.apk file from \system\app
- Reboot
- Install YouTube from the Google Play Store.
I'm very new to this, and I just wanted to share my findings.
Thank you. This was a big help.
To replace the youtube version with the one that still had the touch option to maximize screen. As well as to upgrade a system installed app.

I updated to the Leaked ICS and flashed Gapps, however I'm now unable to update to the latest Google Maps. The error message is:
Package file was not signed correctly
Anyone got the original apk file or is there an easy way to resolve it.
Nook Color firmware: 1.2
Clockwork mod 3.0.2.8
Manualnooter 4-5-6
I recently installed the amazon app, I had no trouble downloading some apps like Netflix, Pet shop story and another that I can not think of at the moment. The problem I am having is that I am unable to install them I keep getting an error that says "There is a problem parsing the package". When I click on the app to intall it gives me an option of App Installer and Package Installer. When I click on Package Installer it gives the parsing error and the app installer does not do anything. So my question is how do I get these apps to install and what may be causing the issue?
Thank you for your time.

MN 4.5.6 was one of the early versions, I recommend updating to version 4.6.16, LINK. A lot of the download issues were fixed in version 4.5.25. You do want to select the option for “Package Installer” when you are asked.
Thank you so much for your response, it worked and did fix the issue. I decided to delete the amazon app it was doing the same thing as before. The andriod market is working perfectly. Thank you again
i just flashed 4.0.4 ics to my A855 milestone, at first it seems that everything is working fine, but boy was i wrong
the phone feature won't work. so i assume text doesn't either. when i try to call it says "mobile network not available". in the stock froyo i remember on the lockscreen and notification pull down it would tell me my network at all times (telus canada), now there's nothing about it there.
and i tried to install the latest google apps which i found in rootzwiki, the download page was goo.im so that's legit right? i can't post the link to it because it won't let me..
all it installed was gmail, google talk, and google search. no play market. what are all the apps that come from the gapps zip?
anyways i tried to download apk installer from the browser play store, then get the play store apk file into my sd and install play store that way, but apk store just won't download for some reason, it says something like "this app will be downloaded to your device shortly" but nothing happens.
1. set Canada(Telus) baseband under Settings>Device>Advanced>Baseband selection and reboot
2. Use the gapps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445209
Regular gapps won't do any good to Milestone because of the limited space in /system. That's why I have to provide special gapps package for Milestone - most of it is installed to /data/vendor instead of /system (as mentioned in that post I linked).
Note that if you applied the gapps from goo.im, you will have to re-apply the CM9 update zip first, then install the gapps I mentioned above.
I've gotten my Kfire worked out pretty well and everything works as it should except one glaring problem:
Every rom I try based on 5.1 Lollipop is unable to install the Google Play Games app from the Google Play Store or by means of apk. The "Unkown Error" it gives is "Error -505".
I've been looking all over the internet over the course of a few weeks and I can't find a working answer anywhere. The closest I could find was that in 5.0 some adobe air based apps would give you a -505 and clearing your Google Play Services cache or updating your rom would fix it.
Right now I'm using the last available nightly of CM11, but I would like to continue using the current nightlies of CM12. Seeing as how I have this tablet to play Android games, it's very important I find a fix for this.
Solution
Installing from the store will not work. Neither will installing from adb command line or installing an apk file.
I ended up selecting a gapps package that contained Google Play Apps in it.
I prefer a slim package, so I used the aroma graphical installer to only install the ones I wanted.

Can Google Play Games be installed on it's own from that package or would the entire gapps package need to be flashed? Additionally, any know issues with the latest CM12.1 nightly?

Yes. That's what I did. I already had the apps I wanted installed so I only selected the Google Play Games app from the package. It's all graphical so it's easy to use. You can also use that package to remove default rom apps and bloatware.
I had no problems with the most recent CM12.1 nightly but I didn't test extensively before switching to SlimLP (for preference).

Perfect. New to this moding stuff and was about to give it up. My KF now has life
Many thanks!
Tried asking this in the newbie Q&A, but no response.
I have updated my Fire 2015 tablets with the custom ROM CM12 (from 5.01). My sincere gratitude to GGOW and those involved.
The problem arises when I try to sign-in to my game (Clash of Clans). It states I requires an update to Google Play Games. The tablet downloads the update but then returns the message: Can’t Install App.
I have installed supersu# and according to Root Check the tablet is currently rooted. Per suggestions I found in this forum, I tried to install an older version of Google Play services using the apk from APK Mirror. I downloaded it to the SD card and tried to use the CM FileManager to run. I granted all the permissions it asks for but it states “App not installed”. The same occurred when I tried to install Google Calendar. It seems that other non-Google apps install just fine.
I am admittedly very new to the Android scene (we all have to start somewhere). Is there some method I can use to uninstall the version of Google Play services on my tablet and reinstall? I appreciate any suggestions.
I ran into a problem when i didn't have Google play games installed, trying to install play games from the play store would result in a fail so i installed an older version , try searching "com.google.android.play.games-2.2.09" they should be dated 28 Jan 2015 they should then update from the play store fine, it seems there's a couple of apps that we have to install older versions first but they update ok.
I have downloaded Google Play Games from an apkmirror and problem solved

Best solution
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-games/
Google Play Games 3.5.17 (2463965-070) (x86) (nodpi)
Download the APK
put in a folder call it "GooglePlayGames" or whatever you want
Copy it to system/app/
Change permissions to one match of the other system apps so they are the same permissions on the folder and apk
Reboot and google play games will be installed

Thank you Ownster! It worked perfectly - still not fully sure why - but I am very appreciative.
