ROM manager and Installing Darkys ROM

I have Samsung Galaxy s i9000 Froyo 2.2, Rooted with Z4root and lagfixed with OCLF. I have downloaded the Darkys ROM 9.2extreme Edition and also the Darkys ROM configurator from market. I have flashed the clockworkmod recovery by using ROM manager. And backed up the data by titanium backup (free version) . Now if I have to flash the Darkys rom from SD card using the ROM manager will I have a problem with recovery 2e? Or it is better to flash the Darkys ROM by Odin?.....Really confused and want to make decision...don't want a brick and data loss...

Either is good. Flash the CWM version using 'install ZIP from SD Card' in CWM (use the three button recovery to get there). The other option is to flash with ODIN using the 512 PIT and the ODIN version. The ODIN version requires first flashing with ODIN, the flashing again with the CWM version, but produes a 'cleaner' install.
Make sure you undo your lagfix first
Thanks guys

Yeah resurrection seems to be better for moving from the stock rom to darkys. I have decided to go for the cleaner Odin flashing. Can I flash clockworkmod recovery by using ROM manager? The official Darkys site has mentioned rom manager as an option to installing CMW in their prerequisites section. But in the custom rom installation guide they have given the steps to copy the update.zip file, enter the recovery mode by 3 button combo and then manually flash twice to get CMW. Which one is the better? ROM manager seems simpler for flashing CMW.....

If you flash Resurrection you have no need for ROM Manager as the ROM includes Clockwork Mod already.

OK if I flash darkys resurrection, then would I have to root with CF root to get recovery 2e?or I can skip that step? I think the resurrection tutorial at xda has not mentioned it.

Is it because of the 3e recovery? Do I need to flash some kernel like speedmod or CF root to get recovery 2e?

[Q] HELP, How to flash CMW Recover using Odin on Samsung Galaxy S

I've been searching around on xda and i can't seem to find a guide on how to Flash CMW recover using Odin on Samsung galaxy S?
If anyone can make a such guide or send a link to me, it would be nice.
- Thanks
If you're rooted download rom manager from the market and use the app to flash cwm.

Download SpeedMod Kernel and flash it. You will get CWM direclty.
If not, flash CFRoot (which is a 3E Recovery Kernel). Then install ROM manager from Market and follow the instructions to install CWM.

Help ::: samsung cappy custom flash

I just get replacement phone from Samsung
FW : 2.2
Baseband I897UCKB2
Build # : froyo.uckb2
I use Heimdall to restore back, noticed that is ROOTED e
install ROM MANAGER, and flush it with samsung captivate.
Now when I do the recovery and choose reinstall, to get to cwm menu, it is failing with some kind of signature error message.
please help
Easiest way is get sgs kernel flasher from market. Download a kernel with it baked in and flash it via kernel flasher. I use one of existz's kernel. Most modified kernels fix the 3e error.

that screen is becuase that is a gingerbread kernel, so gingerbread bootloaders are required for cwm to function.
either use heimdall to flash gingerbread boots, or flash a froyo kernel like speedmod...

[Q] [Galaxy Note n7000]Stuck on boot screen after Flashing with SpeedMod kernel k2-12

Hi guys,
My galaxy note had stock ICS (indian version), I rooted it using rooting only instructions from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26455511&postcount=2475
Rooting worked fine, after that I flashed my device with speedmod kernel k2-12 using mobile odin. After that it just rebooted & got stucked at boot screen.
Any suggestions? what should I do next?
Well you did an amazing thing.
You flashed a gingerbread kernel on a ics rom. That will never bootup.
Download on pc k3 the ics kernel and stick it on your externalbsd card and flash that in recovery. Then all will be fine.
You need the zip one for that

Okay! Thankz 4 info but anyway I managed to do wat I actually intended to do.
After getting trapped in boot loop, I flashed stock Ics kernel using pc odin & then rooted with same dr ketan's method. Finally flashed speedmod kernel yes this time k3 one using mobile odin. . .everything seem to work fine now.
Just for a note while i was flashing stock kernel using stock kernel, it dint work some yellow '!' came up on screen saying connect to kies n blah blah!! I simply tried same procedure again n it got flashed.
P.S. Happy flashing

AW: Stuck on recovery
Can you get into download mode? If yes try flashing stock firmware via odin again and then flash the cf root kernel.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Flash Devil Kernel (the .tar file) in Download Mode via Odin and then when you see on the phone the Devil Logo, pull out the battery, place it back in and boot into recovery using the 3 button combo then you can wipe everything again and flash the rom you want from external sdcard or internal and the bootloop will be fixed
