Basically yes. You must unlock your bootloader and flash custom kernel like LinuxDX or FXP. Then use market apps like swapper or swapper 2. And there was a bunch of posts about swap. Use the search function, it won't bite

So whose kernel is the best?

All kernels have their advantages and disadvantages. If you're using GingerDX and don't want to overclock your phone use LinuxDX. If you care about OC use FXP.

Hey there Xperia X8 felas.
I just wanted to ask a little favour. Could you please suggest me best looking, best performance, most fun, fastest and most enjoyable ROM for X8.
I'm using Ginger DX v022 with alfs kernel i think v6 or smt.
And it often freezes, lags a bit, not so responsive, and very often gives me Force close programms. Mostly "call log" extension force close.

I'm using gingerdx with alfs kernel ics and it's so fast and smooth, and i get about 2200-2300 score in antutu. Try reinstall it or smth else, it's great rom and kernel and it should work great without lags...

I recommend to use FireDroid 1.1.
It's fast and smooth, no lags, no bugs and has awesome 3d-> over 750 in antutu.
+1 i can play games like pes12,gangstar,gangstar2,nova,dead space,asphalt 5,nfs shift,nfs hot pursuit, eternal legacy,gta 3,hero of sparta,assassin's creed hd smoothly with FireDroid.

you have to try all the rom that is suitable to you, list the suggestion from all people and try it all. It's not an definite answer if is involving your opinion

[Q] Stable rom

I know it depends of what you want and it's personal and so....
But can you guys please give me a feedback of what is the 2.3.7 most stable rom.
I use it for the basic and some light games so I prefer a rom with less batt drain and bug free instead of performance. I've bootloader unlocked.

miniCM7 on nAa, with these settings.
- No FC's
- No Lag
- Good Performance

GingerUltimate? Never heard of it. Must be very old and may be stopped. Use a new ROM.

Nobody uses that old ROM. So no one will be able to help you with a right solution. Try a new ROM instead.
And, I dont think there is Samsung notes for our phone. But, you can try using the SEARCH button.

Choose either Froyopro or froyobread. I prefer the latter over the former.

I heard that PrimeHD is a renamed GingerDX, is this true? If so are all versions of PrimeHD stolen GingerDX?

How is it disrespectful? It was him who stole it-he was the one who made the mistake. It's wrong to steal anyway, there is nothing wrong with asking a question of such nature.

According to haka it wasn't him who stole the gdx but his brother...its up to your judge to decide what you believe
