camera app that really works - request

Hello to everybody,
Before alot of search i`ll try to ask it to you.
Ìs it possible that there isn`t any apps that let you use all potentility of the g1 camera?
I`ve seen that in hero rom(but now i have cym 4.2.5) the htc camera let you set iso, contrast, night mode, and a lot of features, i`ve buy all camera apps in market but any of these let you set these parameter.
I would pay for an app that let me use my camera in all its features.
Any suggestions?
FXCamera is free and i like it check it out
yes, i've already try it, but it's not what i want
Our product Camera ZOOM FX offers a very high degree of customization of the G1 camera's abilities. A Droid version is expected to be available in the next 10 days. Camera ZOOM FX is available on the Android Market for £1.29 or on the SlideME market.

Snap Photo Pro?
yes, i already buy it, but this not have any contrast regulation, or iso setting or exposure etc.
i would like to have these features but... nobody do that.
The problem i that in low light or in night the photos are so dark.
It's not a DSLR, it's a camera on a phone.
yes i know, but for example in built in camera in hero rom there is the regulation of constrast, saturation and sharpness, and iso, and if i set high iso and low contrast i can take beautiful and clear photos with very low light.

then you should get a hero phone or run a hero rom. again, this is a phone.
g1 camera
well i notice that no matter what program the g1 has its seems that the camera sux!!! is there any way that this can be fixed???
Try xROM.
It's a full rom, not an app.
But it has the Hero camera in it, and it works pretty good in dark light.
The Market does have some very nice camera apps (especially for a phone camera), but I fully understand the op's request. Sometimes it's not feasible to carry around a camera and a phone. For the candid, spur-of-the-moment shots, that's the benefit of having a camera on the phone. Unfortunately, most of these apps do post-processing of photos. That's not much fun when you take multiple photos. The Hero camera, on the otherhand, let's you set the brightness/contrast/etc BEFORE you take the pics. That's a huge benefit when you're in a restaurant or club and want to grab some low light photos.
xROM is a very nice, stable and fast rom. Although it's a bit older of a rom, it still has most of the functionality of the latest roms and pretty much all the speed as well. I believe it's the most recent rom that also had the Hero camera.
Thats why I'm hoping we get some software improvements once the Sony Ericsson phone comes out. I had the k800i Cybershot Phone before the G1, and that phone rocked. The camera software was amazing. I imagine the hardware will limit it of course, but the image processing right after the sensors output should see great improvements that, I hope because of android, will lead to amazing improvements of the camera apps.
I have Snap Photo Pro, FxCamera, and 3DCamera.
In my opinion...
Snap Photo is best for photos that matter the most (but its still not a real cameraphone so you can't expect much). But the detail is there and postediting can fix most issues. And you get the most megapixels compared to the rest.
FxCamera is awesome if you don't mind small photos. Web quality, but not print. Love this app though, and prefer the auto output of the polaroid mode better than auto Snap Photo settings, and use this one the most for casual shots.
Never had a photo from 3dCamera yet. Hoping its a skill level thing and I can make use of th incredible possibilities. But only possibilities so far.
I repeat, if a hero rom can use these features on a g1/dream phone, this mean that a stand alone software for g1 can do that, i think.
Why nobody has developed these features? What is the problem?
I totally agree! I just wish we had an app. in which nightmode actually worked...
is it just me but is FX camera missing from the market now? I havent been able to find it

Yes sir
Working on PA 4.45
It's not the same as OPPOs Super Zoom, the file size is actually decreased and the resolution is decreased. However noise seems to be reduced.
Auto
Clear Image
Is there a setting for Clear Image (as I can't find one) or does it take better pics automatically?
I did some small tests and I wasn't impressed, as mentioned above, file size is actually smaller than a normal picture.
I'd imagine selecting ISO100 in settings could yield better results. (During the day)
How can you tell if clear image is enabled or is it always on a as I don't see it anywhere in any options.

Press the little wand icon and enable it as a picture mode. Then swipe through the list on the viewfinder to get to it.
Edit: Further testing seems to show that all 'Clear Image' does is reduce image noise at the cost of a small bit of resolution. So it is rather aptly named, however this may also result better low light pictures. As shown below, taken under a desk.

in the opposite, i think that your photos demonstrate great results as the noise almost dissapeared
which is outstanding for any mobile camera

I said noise is reduced, so our statements agree. However you have to factor in that this takes about 3.5 seconds to take a picture, but yes the pictures are impressive.
I appreciate the new mode for clearer images, I was hoping for something closer to OPPO's camera that creates a higher resolution image from multiple pictures or Sony's superior auto mode that over samples pictures to create one image

I just noticed that with the new Clear Image mode, all shots appear to be 4:3 even when my camera is set to 16:9 (9.7)
Is this just my imagination?

I am running it now, on a Oppo Find 7a with the latest CM nightly on it and it runs very fine, just like the previous version ..... BUT ...
I can not find the "clear image" mode in my list .... Between which modes is it ? I have 29 modes (auto,HDR,Smart scene etc ..
(and the stock camera app on the Oppo can do those High res pictures. )
How many modes do you have ?
Thanks, Sparcky
Hi,
Running crDroid v4, installed the apk and can only work for a few shots and it will revert back to stock CM11 camera. I even disable the stock cam and clear cache and data, problem still persist. AND, there's no Magic Wand to change settings to 'Clear Image'.

Check the aspect ratio. It does take 16:9 shots, just not in the new mode.

Best setting for Gcam (portrait) on one plus 3T

Stable settings for Arnova8G2's apks based on GCam 5.1.014, v10 or above. Tested on a OP3 running LOS 14.1.
Settings:
Config camera HDR+:
Nexus 6 Auto (or something with "Nexus 6" in the name. Nexus 6P and Pixel settings are not stable)
Model:
Pixel 2XL (or Nexus 6P if you want more detailed images)
HDR+ parameters:
Default (or higher)
- Check the "Advanced" menu for some useful settings/features:
-- Portrait mode, RAW, etc (check the main post for a list of working features)
- Android Oreo users: you may need to go to "Debugging and tools" and uncheck "camera.use_photos" so you can see your photos from inside the app.
- The rest (video resolution, camera sounds, etc) is up to you.
Notes/Warnings:
- Some of the options mentioned here are not available on older apks.
- You need to restart the app so the new settings are applied.
Motion Photos:
- You need to be running Android 8+ (doesn't work on Android 7 or older);
- Not tested by me, but some users reported this worked;
- Probably not as stable as the settings above;
Config camera HDR+:
One of the Pixel 2017 settings
Model:
Pixel 2XL
HDR+ parameters:
Default (or higher)
Photo Resolution (important):
(16:9) 12.1 megapixels (4:3 don't work with motion photos)
Warning: You need to restart the app so the new settings are applied.
Screenshots:
Why these settings?
Model:
It's up to you. I use the "Nexus 6P" option because it produces more detailed/crisp photos (downside: more noise) when compared to the Pixel settings. Because most users seem to prefer the "Pixel" quality (less noise and smaller file size, but also less detail), if you are one of them, use the "Pixel 2XL" option.
Config camera HDR+:
On the OP3/3T we are forced to choose one of the "Nexus 6" settings (Nexus 6 Auto, Nexus 6 ZLS, etc). All the other configs crash the app or work partially (but end up crashing under certain conditions... eg: when taking pictures of bright things).
HDR+ parameters:
tl;dr: higher settings = better quality, but it takes more time to process the image.
Others have shared their tests here and the difference is not huge, so start with the "default" setting (the lower available) and go higher if needed.

Google Camera is the camera app for the Google Nexus and Google Pixel phones. It is not designed or intended to be run on other phones.
What is HDR+?
HDR+ is Google's proprietary image processing routine. HDR+ employs image stacking to control exposure, and also to preserve details, reduce noise, increase sharpness, etc. It is an all-in-one package.
Here is the working Google Camera a.k.a GCam for Realme 2 Pro.
What is working ?
- Panorama Mode
- Portrait Mode with HDR+ and HDR+ enhanced (Front and Back)
- Normal Camera Mode with HDR+ and HDR+ enhanced (Front and Back)
- Video Mode
- LED Flash Light at Back
- Night Sight, Photo Sphere, Photo Booth, Time Lapse, Lens.
Known Bugs:-
-Slo Motion Mode FC, Front Screen Flash FC, Lags and Freezes in Night Sight mode for front camera
-Some time delay in view finder, Minimal white dots if you zoom in otherwise it is not noticeable.
Note:-
If you find any issue which is not mentioned in bug list then comment below and if it is a crash or force close then report with logcat.

GCam in LG G7 won't load lgg7.xml (says it's not there...)
Hello, sorry for the nubie status...
My phone is a LG G7 ThinQ (G710ULM), cross-flashed to Android 10 using a Canadian kdz).
I just installed your GCam port (7.3.018 v2.1). I then tried to load the configs file lgg7.xml but the new 'Camera' app says 'You don't have any configs!'
I tried installing the app from a GCam directory (at the same level as DCIM) on both internal and micro SD storage. I tried placing the same lgg7.xml file in both Configs and Configs7 sub directories - nothing works.
Seems that the app itself needs the Configs file since it's slow to track what you are pointing the lens at.
Any suggestions?

Hi! I'm using Google Camera ports since I was using Nokia 6 (2017). Now I'm using Nokia 7.2 with Google Camera port installed. With this, I can't take 20 MP selfies (at least 8 MP is OK). Front camera only takes pictures with 5 MP's. I think, comparably the original Nokia 6 was way more better than Nokia 7.2 and other Nokia phones these days.

I found out that most gcams don't work after the update to Android 10. I have problems with slow motion, front facing camera and with some builds even with hdr processing.
I have seen a lot of recommendations but most of them have one of the above bugs.
After a lot of tries I think the only build that has hdr, slow motion and front facing camera is PMGC_7.0.009_HDR_Version_V13 from Parrot043.
What do you recommend?

Can anyone please make a gcam for Nokia 7.1 (Android 10)? Because all of the versions I installed specific and boom specific for my phone didn't work. It would take pics 2 or 3 times and then won't capture. It would be really helpful if there is a proper functioning gcam.

I really do appreciate your effort but still it doesn't work. It takes one pic and then it won't. I have to restart the phone to take again. I think the only possible way is to create a custom port specifically to Nokia 7.1. Please xda developers, make a gcam specifically for Nokia smartphones.
