Hi There!
I have a GT 8.9 3G and I have two issues:
1) It takes forever to charge. I am plugged into a USB Cable via an adapter into the wall and after 6 hours I am only 64% Charged. What is normal?
2) Is there a leaked stock ROM which includes 3G Functionality for ICS for this device? Not a custom ROM, just a stock ROM.
Thanks.
1) are you using the Samsung charger adapter.?
2) yes, find tracid 's thread in dev section

What is the output on the Samsung Charger? I have loads of them but I am not certain which is the original.

But you need one specific to Samsung. Make sure it's designed for Galaxy Tabs. Neither vanilla adapters nor iThingy stuff will work.

Both questions already answered several times on the forums. Just use the search button. Have fun!
Well I am struggling to find a replacement adapter. Ebay sell ones with american plugs, for $40+ which seems ludicrous!
Is the fact I am not using a proper PSU the reason my battery symbol has an x over it when it's plugged in? What about the fact I constantly have a warning on the lockscreen to connect the charger?

Seems like it requires me to root my device and install CWN is that correct?
Tracid's Rom is pre-rooted, meaning if you install it, your device will indeed be rooted. There is no need to root in order to install it
Whether or not you need to flash a specific CWM to install it, depends on the recovery you have now.

Yes, the red X on battery means the charger is not detected as original... I read about this charger specificity several times, but never paid much attention as I'm not in that case... It's about some twisted wires in the charger, letting Samsung to detect it as original. (this makes me wonder if you have a non-stock Rom, like AOSP or CM, whether the detection logic still applies)

I ordered this set (http://dx.com/p/ac-car-power-adapters-usb-data-charging-cable-set-for-samsung-galaxy-tab-p1000-110-240v-58734?item=10 )at DX.com, the USB cable is very tight in my P7310, so I only use that as a spare in case my other is lost. But the adapter is acknowleged as an original and it charges a bit faster than the original adapter. (original takes about 5 hours full charge, which is far to long)

First u need to install a working CWM 5.x.x.
Then update the CWM to 6.0.0.8 and flash tracids.
The CWM 6.0.0.8 and tracids are in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893456

Any chance of tweaking the charge rate in this kernel to allow the use of higher output chargers like the ipad charger that outputs 3 times the current of the stock one? The stock charge rate is locked to 650ma which is close to the output of the stock charger that came with the phone, regardless of which ac charger you use. Don't even mention the charge rate when plugged into a usb port.
my biggest gripe so far with this otherwise excellent phone.
Jacking up the limit to around 3000ma on both ac and usb, and letting the phone draw the maximum current that the adapter can supply would really speed things up.

Do you have an idea on how to go about doing that? I'm actually a novice in this modding business, so I can't really do any original mods, but I can try to incorporate mods that others have done, providing that instructions are provided.
Having said that, I'm actually reluctant to attempt mods that tamper with voltage or current settings like what you're proposing. Maybe there's a good reason Samsung has limited the charging current. I don't want to fry my phone.
For now, I'm looking at mods that improve functionality, like BLN or CIFS. Maybe some overclocking of the CPU/GPU at later stage once I have more understanding of the platform.

That's normal when you use custom kernels. It would disappear if you reflash with a stock kernel.
root your phone first, then install kernel flasher, then flash original kernel, and finally install this kernel via kernel flasher and you will won't see the triangle anymore.

Find your firmware that fits to your country and provider. Download the file and read the instructions (link at the bottom of the first post).
After that, you'll have an untouched stock rom again (but why? )
If you have a Backup of the Stock ROM you could just restore from it.
But if you dont, you have to download your ROM and use SmartFlash.
You should try MIUI Roms if CMs a bit out of your taste.
Goodluck though!

Try the newer ROMs based on V20O....which will ofcourse require you to flash the Base Band V20M and the RIL recommended by GetRIL or LG RIL apps.
But, personally, I was happy with Thanatos 5.1, Blazing Dragon 2.1a, Django0.5ICS with spica's Kernel....all these gave me a minimum of 40hrs in battery performance and the device was very soft with movement with extremely few reboots and FCs in app openings.
Everything depends on ur satisfaction and feel.....Try these....I tried also the CM7 but changed....so try all the great work by developers....appreciate the fact that without these guys....this device would be uninteresting...
BRAVO DEVELOPERS of LG O2X
May I also ask - what ROM were you specifically using? Were you using CM 7.1 normal? Were you using some other CM7 based rom?
I recently made the switch from stock GB to tomasek's CM7 nightly based rom and I'm not going back - it's just heaps and bounds better than anything else I've tried.
If you have in fact tried a recent CM7 "Kang" build then please tell us what you found lacking.
To me there would only be one single reason to go back to stock - the LG widgets. I haven't found anything that works like the LG Memo widget anywhere else. (ie it's a widget, not only an app. You can also slide left/right to get the next/previous note. I haven't found anything that can do this). If someone pointed me at a similar widget then I'd be set.
But that aside, it's worth not having the LG widgets if it means getting all the other improvements of CM.
Another big point for me - Where do you think the first ICS roms will come from?
Very likely CM9. They are hard at work at it right now and looking at the progress document they're making huge steps every day.
So getting used to CM7.x now only means that it's easier to switch to CM9 (ICS) when it comes.
That's just my 0.02 of whatever currency you happen to be using.
// Stefan
yeah just flash a stock rom over it, and make a backup of your apps if you need to

Well...in the official TWRP forum thread, they said for us T-Mo Note users to use the i717 AT&T, so that's what I installed. Maybe i'll try rolling back to an older version if that's possible.
Just Google "twrp sgh-t879" and the first result is the official page for this device
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/113
The top of the page says 2.4, but the links are for 2.3. Anyway, that is where I installed from.
When you search on TWRP site just type it "Sgh T879" and it should pop up
I do have one more question if anyone is still around.
There are new nightlies on Cyanogen's site (since the M2 release). Do those nightlies consist of everything included in the 4.2.2 M2 release, or are they just a continuation of the 4.2.1 nightlies?

Yes. They consist of everything in M2 plus continued new fixes/features and breakage depending upon what the devs are up to.
Yeah, it looks like the version of TWRP that I was using was the culprit. I rolled back to the one in the above post. and was able to flash the newest nightly.
Thanks for the help guys.
Three issues that seem to be recurring in the nightlies is whenever I put handcent in landscape, I can see another display behind the intended display. The other issue is that Bluetooth sometimes wants to turn itself off. The third issue is that a car dock icon shows up when I dock my phone in the car but no actual car dock software launches.

I switched back to the stock ROM anyway because CM10 wouldn't let me make calls properly.
Do you have an i717 or a t879? I haven't had issues with calling even with the loss of wifi calling.
Hey Guys,
I have P990 and I'm using CM10 nightly, and I really want to change ROM as this works really bad on my device.
I downloaded DjangoManouche X 1.6.1 and whenever I go to install, it goes through the first steps, then screen gets black and goes back to Clockwork Recovery. I tried with other ROMs and similar things happen.
What could it be?

Well, just because it's the only ROM I can install. Still want to upgrade, but I can't do anything. USB isn't working, ROM from external SD don't install...
don't get me wrong, cm7 is a good rom (especially if you installed Temasek one + vadonka kernel) - battery is great with this combo (i was using that combo for almost a year until cm10/10.1/10.2 versions of tonyp roms + pengus kernels came out in the beginning of 2013)...
but cm10.2 has some usefull stuff and many improvements over cm7...
i can only suggest you to read some more threads in the developer section... moving to a new bootloader can give you some more benefits if you're into the newest roms (since the rom developers usually support only the new bootloader first, and then they make an old bootloader versions of their roms/kernels as well - or they don't - it's up to them and their free time)
i'm also considering to finally switch to a new bootloader - but i'm still waiting for the new cm11 (kitkat) roms and 3.1+ kernel to become stable enough for a daily use...
it's up to you to see what you need most out of the rom... but some reading before flashing is mandatory... if you've read some more - you'd already know your problem before i wrote my post and explaining the old/new bl issue...
once a week someone comes up with the same problem because he doesn't read about bootloaders or is just lazy to read the 1st posts in the rom threads...
i hope i helped... cheers

don't get me wrong, cm7 is a good rom (especially if you installed Temasek one + vadonka kernel) - battery is great with this combo (i was using that combo for almost a year until cm10/10.1/10.2 versions of tonyp roms + pengus kernels came out in the beginning of 2013)...
but cm10.2 has some usefull stuff and many improvements over cm7...
i can only suggest you to read some more threads in the developer section... moving to a new bootloader can give you some more benefits if you're into the newest roms (since the rom developers usually support only the new bootloader first, and then they make an old bootloader versions of their roms/kernels as well - or they don't - it's up to them and their free time)
i'm also considering to finally switch to a new bootloader - but i'm still waiting for the new cm11 (kitkat) roms and 3.1+ kernel to become stable enough for a daily use...
it's up to you to see what you need most out of the rom... but some reading before flashing is mandatory... if you've read some more - you'd already know your problem before i wrote my post and explaining the old/new bl issue...
once a week someone comes up with the same problem because he doesn't read about bootloaders or is just lazy to read the 1st posts in the rom threads...
i hope i helped... cheers

How is Cm10.2 working for you? Battery life/speed/etc
I had 10.1 I believe and it was horrible.
I can' install new bootloaders, etc...as I can't enter debug mode, nor do anything
just to make sure...
your usb doesn't work when the phone is fully booted into the rom or it doesn't work for SW upgrade?
did you try other usb ports? (don't use usb hubs for this, especially for SW upgrade stuff)
did you install the correct windows drivers for the phone?

it was horrible if you used the official CM10.1 nightlies... not if you've been using tonyp cm10.1 based roms and pengus kernels... believe me...
currently i'm on the tonyp "The rom" build 26 + pengus kk126 kernel (no ram hack version)
battery lasts for almost 2 days with moderate use (around 3 hrs screen on + wi-fi on, some calls, some messages)
phone is snappy, i don't have syncs turned on in any app...
phone is oc-ed to 1500mhz (min 216, max 1500mhz), and if you care about the benchmarks - it gives a solid 9000+ in antutu...
for a 3 year old phone - i'm satisfied enough...
btw what version of cwm do you have?
your starting point can be here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737
and please at least read the 1st page of the thread if not all of it (for user comments)
there is also an option to install the correct windows drivers and a tutorial for windows 8 (i'm on win7 x64)
I've tried different ports, different cables, different copmuters...I've read that a lot of people have this issue though, especially after upgrading to CM7...which was my case. Ever since I haven't been able to do it

omg...this is a puzzle (at least for me ,maybe some on can solve this in a snap, but it really seems complicated)
first, we need to resolved why smart flash won't recognize your device...than everything should go with no problems

what color is INSTALL APX in aio toolkit...is it gray or is white like every thing else, when you connect phone?
if you have installed all drivers(lg united, nvflash drivers, apx, adb usb drivers...that is in tonyp basketbuild downloads in p990 staff-->various ) and if you are not did this: SU660 Users: Download Both P990 & SU660-AddOn packages. Run & extract the P990 first and then extract in the same folder the SU660-AddOn. AIO-Toolkit will be converted to support SU660 device
by mistake i really dont know where is problem...
Hello, my LT25i turns on, when I plug it on the charger in turnt off condition. I want to turn it off and charge it, when I go to bed. This behavior is since I updated it to Android 4.3 a few month ago.
Does anyone have a solution for it?
The phone is rooted, bootloader is open and Xposed Framework is installed.
Thank you!
I know that this happens with some custom roms, offline charging does not work.
Did you install a custom kernel?
If I'm not mistaking, the fixed NeoWave cm11 kernel doesn't have that problem.
I don't know if that is compatible with your rom though.

No, I have the stock Rom.
Does it really boot into the system, or only to the 'battery loading screen'? The latter is normal behaviour.
