I got a nexus 7(not rooted) and a Logitech f310 controller, when i connect the controller it works on the home screen, when i launch grand theft auto 3, the camera spin around. is there a way to get this controller to work with grand theft auto 3?
Anyone got a answer?

If I was to root my nexus 7, will the controller work?

There is a known issue with the gamepad layout file that causes this. You have to be rooted to replace the file with the fixed version. It is not game specific as it effects most games and controllers.

So after I root, how do I fix the game controller file, and where do I get the file.

I also would like to know the fix so I can use tablet remote app to use my phone as a controller for emulators. The app works with everything but emulators. I have tried keymapping without luck
Do a search for wireless xbox controller fix. Should be the same.

Hi everyone.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Droid 4's physical keyboard as a bluetooth keyboard on the Nexus 7? Or the iPad.
Thanks... this would be awesome

I found this on the play store, no idea if it works.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tournesol.tabletremote&hl=en
Theres also a app called BlueputDroid which emulates a generic bluetooth mouse/keyboard.
EDIT: I tried the Tablet Remote app, but I dont think it worked on either the tablet ( Asus Transformer Infinity) or the phone (Droid 4), I got bluetooth service discovery errors on both, but the BlueputDroid does work, its what I use. I hope the Tablet Remote gets worked out because it looks like a really nice app!

I found some interesting USB Controllers on Thinkgeek, there is a classic NES one among others. What really caught my interest was the N64 version, I have the N64 emulator and I would love to pair the two. Do you guys think it would work with an OTG cable and some key mapping?
Here's the link to the controller, but take a look at the other ones on there too:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f08c/
I think it would definitely work with dead trigger since you can map the buttons. other games.. idk sorry.
I was mostly looking to play some Super Mario 64 with it lol. Is there anyway you can use this controller then output to a TV?
I don't see why It wouldn't. It's very similar to a Dualshock PS3 controller, so you should be able to edit the buttons.
You still have a N64 controller?
Should work since the emulator allows you to map the buttons.
Ive been using the wiimote app (free version) along with my kids wii controller with a wii pro controller attached. Works great for games like Mario 64.

The Wii Controller is a great idea, I've seen someone use the Wiimote but not the classic one. That's awesome, I may give that a try instead. Thanks

I have recently rooted my phone and tried to use the sixaxis controller app to connect my ps3 controller.
I have tried to do this with two devices and have different problems, the first is my Gemini Devices JoyTab GEM10313BK tablet rooted and running jellybean which will connect it through USB but not Bluetooth, the second is my galaxy s i9000 rooted running cm10 which connects the controller through Bluetooth but gives no response when the controller buttons are pressed, if anyone has any suggestions I would be very greatful as I have been trying to sort this for days. Thanks in advance.

Wow if you will be able to use your Ps3 controller on galaxy s please tell me how, I liked to use one to for gaming on psx and on n64 emulators: )

Probably the easiest way is to do it is connecting the controller by usb to the computer, and manually set which Bluetooth address the controller should connect to.
There's a program for it I can't remember the name of...
@mintiicecream
There's an app or two in the market for pairing sixaxis and android devices in the market, it's quite easy, and it works.

Have you set up a layout profile in the sixaxis app? That's for the sgs that apparently seems to be connecting correctly; the app isn't plug and play.

Yup - root+ sixaxis widget + ps3 controller is the best solution, especially for the amount of buttons the ps3 controller has. However, before I rooted, I got one of these on sale (not cheap otherwise!) and it's amazing for Shadowgun (haven't tried many other games with it however): http://steelseries.com/products/other/steelseries-free-mobile-wireless-controller
Amazing little thing, great feel and I'm surprised by the quality. Also, cross-platform compatibility (Android, iOS and Windows, for example). I had my doubts, but after using it for awhile... wow. Such a small controller should not perform so well!
HOWEVER: keep in mind that Android compatibility is still spotty with controllers, especially if you do not have root. You'll need a game that either explicitly tells you that it is compatible with the controller of your choice (ie. "compatible with Moga controllers" ) OR has some way to map controls manually in the game. I haven't tried your game, so check first. In Shadowgun and NOVA, for example, in game settings you're able to map buttons. So even without root, you can plug a ps3 controller in via the dock's USB port and map away. Or pair the Free controller and you're off.
If you DO have root, I think there might be ways to emulate touch controllers with root and sixaxis, but I haven't tried. Unless someone else can speak to how well this works? Theoretically, this enables you to play games that aren't even designed for controllers.
Hope this helps!
