[Q] Help needed system ui has stop !!! - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

please help me
after installing 15 togg my sliding drawer has gone
and i keep getting system ui F.C
and plus my tw launcher is gone also
and sorry for the bad english
thnx anyway

I think you tried flashing the 15 notification toggles that's not really compatible on the version of your ROM.. e.g. the 15 notification toggle is meant for an LRK Rom but you have an LRG rom.
Anyway, I've experienced this issue you have long before, and what I did is, I just tried reflashing my original ROM back. Now later on, once you get your TW to work and no more FCs... make sure that the 15 notification toggles your going to flash is really compatible with your ROM... (or else you're going to end up back on the same state as you'rein now)

Is there any way other than refalshing the ROM ?!?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app

I doubt so... your TW framework is pretty much messed up... but who knows.. its your take..

Reboot. If problem persist, delete systemUI.odex from /system/app and reboot. If still not solved, restore backup. If no backup, reflash whole ROM.

Ok thanks all
I have reinstalled my rom
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app

its because u did not delete the systemui.odex. u should just have ignored the FCs and opend es or root explorer and delete the .odex file and reboot

[APP][REQ]SMS Split NS4G/CM7 MMS.APK

I have tried pushing the Mms.apk from CM7 over to my NS4G, but when i hit settings I get FC everytime. I was just wondering what I am doing wrong or if this is just not possible on the NS4g.
Uh, what ROM are you running? You know there is CM7 for the NS4G, right?
Yes I do. I just wanted to stay as stock as possible and still get that functionality. I also don't like adw.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
The mms from cm7 will not work on a stock rom because of the framework differences.
Push this to your /system/app folder, this should work on your NS4G.. I use this on my phone with the stock ROM.
post back and let me know how it works out for you..
edit: just to be on the safe side, wipe your dc & cache..
As long as you wipe cache/dalvik then it works like a charm.
thank you good sir
not a problem, i'm glad it worked out for you
Using this app. Works great. Followed the directions but my settings (notification settings and split settings) don't seem to be saving. Any ideas?
Running a stock rom rooted with netarchy kernel..

You must be running an odexed rom. Do this: put the Mms.apk in /system/framework instead of the normal; /system/app.
This will install and write a .dex in /data/dalvik-cache and will save your preferences now

Phone Dialler

Is it possible to take a phone dialler you like on one rom and add to another if so how?
Yes it is. Just pull the .apk from one rom and push to other rom with root explorer.
However, doesn't mean they are compatible due to different frameworks. Then itll fc. Just back up your old one before.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA
So its just the phone.apk i need what about battery icon on status bar
That's more complicated. I believe its in systemui.apk and framework-res.apk modified.
Much more likely to be incompatible between roms. Phone might stuck on boot ani or mass fc.
So generally bad idea to pull from another rom. Better to decompile and modify current roms.

Changed the battery icon with CWM with no issues so far to a circular type
Used this battery : EXTENDED_no_header-CRT-CIRCULAR_BATTERY___JVU_ODEX
Was hoping to put ICS phone dialler from this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189676
or one from this rom

[Request] Samsung Clock App for ICS??

I'm currently running Docs ICS V5 and was wondering if anyone has or would be able to port the Samsung clock app??? I prefer it to the stock ICS clock app so if anyone knows of its existence would you kindly point me in the right direction. Thanks

I would like this also. I found a thread for the Galaxy Nexus where someone was able to port several TW apps to work with AOSP but when I install them they are not formatted for our resolution. Maybe someone will be able to port those from
this thread.
+1
Stock ICS clock is bad, no Stop Watch
There is a stopwatch, but it is pretty poor compared to the Samsung one.
Inside the clock app, where you set the alarm, there is a sort of a title/tab on top-left that says "Alarms". If you click that, you'll be able to go to a stopwatch. Alternatively, you can go there through the menu button. I am on Doc's V4 and haven't tried other ICS roms, so YMMV.
What I don't like about that stopwatch is two things: It does not use a fixed width font, so the numbers keep "shaking". And it does not keep the phone from going to sleep, which pretty much makes it unusable to me.
So, a big +1 to the OP request.
TW clock is ready
Search for Nexus TW Clock ICS. The only problem I have with it - font and buttons are too big. SOmewhere there is a scale - lcd density or something which is wrong.
There is one for Epic 4G - with perfect size and it does everything - World time, timer, stopwatch, but not alarm! Alarm FC'es.
WTF!
Mystery of apktool
I tried combining these two from Epic and Nexus using apktool and baksmali. The code is almost identical - only one class differs and it's Alarm related. The resources are vastly different in picture sizes and xml's with "dip" in Epic vs "pix" in Nexus. So anyway - I copied Nexus class to Epic, and copied Epic resources to Nexus. None of these two after smaling and apktool build (without errors) got recognised in Launcher - no icons in app drawer, no .odex file in dalvik.
Any experts to solve the mystery?
Mystery is solved
New release is coming... Check out my ROM within couple of hours.
Just copied classes.dex from Nexus ICS clock to Epic 4G clock. And optimized it as usual.
I am patiently waiting for that update, but in the meantime just wanted to say "thank you" for the pointer to the epic clock.

Try the ROM or rip the Clockpackage.apk from .zip.
I'm fine either way.
I'm checking Holo Calendar now. First try was disastrous - I had to wipe the data to restore calendar sync.

I pulled the clockpackage.apk from your rom. I copied to the system/app and rebooted. It didn't show up in my app drawer. So I rebooted into recovery and wiped cach partition, dalvik and fixed permissions. It still isn't showing up in my app drawer. Do you have any other suggestions? I'm running ICSSGS latest version.
Edit: Never mind. When I went into All Applications it was disabled. When I enabled it, it is working now.
Smart Alarm Problem
Thank you so much for updating the clock in Nostalgia!
I can't get the smart alarm function to work, though. No matter which smart alarm tone I choose, the "Good Morning" alarm sound plays. Am I missing something, or is there a glitch in the apk?
Thank you!
I installed the app for now, and it works great.
I am thinking about trying out your ROM, though, once 5.3 is out.

I am having the same issue as you were. I followed steps you mention (I copied to the system/app, rebooted into recovery and wiped cache partition, dalvik and fixed permissions).
When I go to settings/apps/all I do not see it there and so I can't enable it as you did. Am I missing something? What is the app named (maybe I missed it)?
I double checked the system/app folder and it is there.
I am running a Boogs latest CM9 Kang (clean) with Launcher Pro (free version).
Anyone have any suggestions?
TIA

I flashed it, and I like it, other than a couple of small problems that I can live with.
The Samsung Clock works great, and that makes me happy.

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like in the app list. Did you scroll all the way to the right and select all apps? Mine was at the bottom.

I had a similar problem until I found another thread with a solution. The solution was to add clockpackage.odex to system/app. I can't upload odex files, so it is attached in a .zip.
When you copy apk to /system/app - your permission on apk file get screwed up. Nice touch from FileManager writers. So you gotta fix them from the same Root Explorer or Browser to be 644 - read/write by owner, read by group, read by other.

[Q] Help with some stock-apps

Hey guys!
I've noticed that Sammy did a awful job when it comes to our stock Android.
I was a happy user of CyanogenMod but I really missed some Sammy stock apps and reverted back to stock ROM.
Now I'm creating a bareboned stock-based ROM for my personal use, but when I remove some apps, I noticed that they still appeared on my launcher.
On the /system/app directory, there is some Launcher*.apk files, where the * is something like AlarmClock, Browser, Calculator. The apps that I removed only disappeared when I deleted the matching Launcher*.apk too.
I wonder if there is some way to bypass this? By bypass I mean, remove the Launcher*.apk files and still have the icons on my launcher.
Thanks!
Maybe u can try using Root Uninstall.. See if it help u out to clean up all the apps that u wanted to remove include the system/app files also u can remove it easily....
here u can get the apps
link
Correct me if Im wrong ok.
Thanks for the help, but this is not what I want I think I wasn't clear enough. I want to remove the dependency of a second APK to show the icons on my launcher. Guess that is has been hard-coded by samsung. Oh god, why...
Try titanium backup, make backup then restore, I dunno why, but it worked for me with some apps. Or try a different launcher and see what happens.

I'm using Holo Launcher I'm gonna try it another time, maybe LauncherPro and ADW.
I noticed that this only exists in my Brazilian ROM, since this don't happens on the XWKTM. therefore, this thread isn't needed anymore. Thanks for those who helped!

[MOD] System UI (IOS Signal Status + Blue, Green, White Honami Battery) FIXED!

For Xperia Z JB 4.2.2
Mods have been updated to replace only the png files of the signal status and battery in your systemui.apk instead of replacing the whole file. This will prevent any incompatibility problems that a few experienced before due to the different framework between stock and custom roms.
Would like to give credit to Drummerjed for kindly offering his help in fixing the files. You can check out his boot animation here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391604&nocache=1.
3 Different mods:
One with IOS7 Signal status and BLUE Honami battery, GREEN Honami battery and WHITE Honami Battery.
As always, please make a backup of your rom before flashing zips.
Based on post by LitoNi (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409210) but has 3 soft-key buttons instead of 5.

For those of you who want 3 soft-keys.
* IOS style signal status
* Blue battery (Green when charging)
* Soft-keys same as on Honami rom (3 standard buttons, Slightly smaller than stock.... I think it's either 32ppi or 36ppi).
Sorry, but don't have extra time for requests. Just thought others might be interested so posting.

Try wiping dalvik cache. It will reset your wallpaper but you can always change it back.
If all else fails you can extract systemui.apk and copy it manually via root explorer or something and change permissions. If your phone resets automatically make sure you fix permissions in recovery before it reboots.

I did it (moved to system, added permissions, moved to system/app), them I wiped cache and dalvic. When phone turned on, there were no statusbar or navbar. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or maybe it's only for Honami framework?

Just confirming t's not a typo but it should be under /system/app/
If doing manually, permissions to be changed after it's been copied to directory by file manager or recovery.
Also, I assume that your on JB 4.2.2?
Should work for both the latest updates .423 & .244. Honami is based on stock so shouldn't be an issue if your not using the Honami rom.
I'm guessing you need to correctly set permissions if copying manually. It should be: -rw -r -r (just check other apps in /system/app folder).

Thanks for correcting me.
No way of doing so: if you move directly to system/app, phone will shut down immediately. After changing permissions in system folder it will stay if you move it to subfolder. I was doing so with every manually installing mod.
And yes, I'm on latest firmware by RomAur (based on 244)
I'm pretty sure that I gave rw r r permissions (644), but I'll try again.

Tried modding the png files. Problem is that once you increase the size there are overlaps with the other graphics so it will look like there is something wrong.

Hmmm, that's wierd. I tested it on Honami rom and backup of latest stock firmware and works fine.
Not sure if it would make a difference but you could try fix permissions and wipe dalvik cache in recovery?
Alright I do not have odex working according to ArchEnemy', which is where I modded his version.
As of now, I cannot get center clock to work with 3 navi keys, only 5 keys. Ive tried editing the basic status bar file but I might be editing the wrong one, therefore im waiting for his reply to and hopefully to get it working with 3 navi keys.
If anyone who cant wait and doesnt mind the 5 navi keys (ive made the power key and the menu key invisible, it is still there, you just cant see it), you can try flashing the file below. Remember to back up your rom fully, just in case anything happens.
