[Q] Galaxy S wont update to FROYO 2.2

Right, firstly this is my first post, so please bare with me.
I have a (UK) Galaxy S that WAS running FROYO 2.2. I recently rooted the phone for various reasons only to find out that some features would not work. I then un-rooted the phone to return back to the standard running 2.2.
During the un-rooting process the phone crashed, and subsiquently would not reboot. I got round this by recovering it using ODIN Ver3.0......But its restored the phone to 2.1, Build Number ECLAIR.XWJMB, Kernel 2.6.29 rootSE-S603 #2, Baseband version I9000XXJM4.
Ive tried to update the system using Kies but it says that it isnt able to update and trying to update using ODIN didnt work. Can i get my phone back to running FROYO 2.2 that i loved so much?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
Thanks Rob

I believe this thing happened to me also. I resolved it by checking if the .PIT as per this table http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm is compatible with the firmware i wanted to patch on my phone.
Hopefully it will solve your troubles too

Update rooted Tab to Gingerbread

I have search these forums for an answer to this, but cannot find a answer to this exqact question and don't want to start installing ROMs unless I really have to.
I rooted my UK uynbranded Tab using Z4 root a while back. I saw gingerbread is now available in my region so tried to update, but Kies is telling me an update is available but refusing to update my tab. I unrooted the Tab using Z4 root and tried again, but still without success.
Currently my version reports:2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1, build FROYO.XWJJ7, baseband P1000XXJK5
Do I really need to reflash to a stock ROM?
If I must, could someone please recommend a tutorial to help me, I see several guides but no idea which is the right one for my circumstances.
Thanks
Gary

[Q] Is there a way to root Sprint Tab on gingerbread 2.3.4 yet?

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a way to root the samsung galaxy tab since it's last update to Gingerbread 2.3.4?
I Only use the WiFi connection so don't care if its verizon root method.
I search for few hours and tried SuperOneClick a few ways already, but nothing has worked so far.
Would installing any rooted rom with Odin work. If you have tried it please let me know.
Does the Samsung Galaxy Tab SPH-P100 NAND lock with the last update?
If you have tried rooting android 2.3.4 please let me know.
Thanks.
Try putting tab in download mode (on/off plus volume up together).. I managed to root by doing this with oneclick.
Super One Click will not work for the Sprint Galaxy Tab on 2.3.4. There is a pre-rooted Rom you can flash through Odin. It's been around since the 2.3.4 update was released and works very well. You can find it here. Good Luck!

I had tried that previously and it's a no go on the 2.3.4 on the sprint tablet.
Thanks for the advice.

Since this would install all fresh rom it would delete all my application data for the games my wife and kids are playing. Is there a way back this data on a non rooted tab? once I do this I will try the Odin method.
Thanks.
The root worked great. I thought all my apps would be gone but not true, It kept all apps intact and their current status.

Install Samsung Kies on your PC/MAC, and try flashing a new firmware with Kies. Follow the on screen instructions
I have tried that and tell me that my software is up to date have also tried a few different stock roms which were supposed to work with my phone with Odin and they all fail.
Flash the file in this thread.

Rooted stock N900AUCUBMI9 to newest firmware rooted?

What is the easiest route to do this? I have been gone from xda and phone stuff awhile but my mom has the note 3 and I need to update it, it is simply rooted, but the very first firmware. I was thinking maybe the Samsung folks at bestbuy would kindly update it then I could root it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
