Would be cool if somebody going to put this in their N7 ROM development.

ROM wishlist - Blackberry Connect

Guys
Would like to urge one of our great community of rom chefs to pick up the gauntlet of cooking a rom that will enable Blackberry Connect to work on the Touch HD.
It's the only thing lacking on the THD that's stopping me achieving pda nirvana.
Anyone up to the challenge?
John.
Yep that would be really great! I've been 'away' for a while to Iphone but i remember that there used to be a BB emulation for Mobile.
Well BB has released an official virtual BB for mobile not so lang ago. Google it. But would rather have a rom with BB support in it.

[Q] Wiimote AND TV-Out - Is it possible yet?

Hello everyone. Just picked up a second-hand SGS - best phone I ever had!
Anyway, so far I'm still on stock 2.2.1. What I'm looking for is a ROM that supports both TV-Out (3.5mm to RCA) and the Wiimote / Classic Controller / Datel Wireless Retro Controller.
Together, they'd make the SGS the perfect retro gaming console.
I know CM7 supports the Wiimote, but not TV-Out. I know most other ROMs support TV-Out, but not the Wiimote.
So is there any possibility to have both yet?
If not, would it be hard to do?
Maybe copy the Bluetooth implementation over from the Nexus?
Or any chance that the TV-Out will work on CM7?
I hope those are legitimate questions. Looking forward to your input.

I did a lot of searching on the web and cm7 is the only way i know off.
I would kill for tv output and wiimote support both in a rom.
Does anyone know if Darky's ROM (preferably the newest one) would rectify the problem with the BT that stops Wiimotes from working?
any progress?
I've not tested it, but I think the tv-out is working on cm7, maybe not completely nor perfectly but you should look for more informations in the CM7 Q&A thread.

I follow the CM7 development forum closely (as well as using the ROM). TV-OUT is not yet implemented.
I *suspect* that it is being worked on but there are no ETA's.
Well I follow the CM7 development forum closely too, and I think I've read some time ago that the tv-out was working, but there is no settings yet (like there is nothing in the menus about it).
But maybe my memory is not as good as it used to be, as I can't find the post in the thread.
All roms sans CM7, MIUI (based on CM7) and the sense port use samsungs bluetooth stack, which is incompatible with the wiimote. Yes, this includes your beloved Darky ROM. CM7 has basic TV-out support but it isn't fully supported yet. Your best bet is to wait it out for CM7 to support it. I can't wait for wiimote + TV-Out either xD

That's what I thought but I couldn't find the source of the info anymore. Maybe you can help me to find where I've read that ?

Switching from Galaxy Nexus to N7000, help?

Just a few questions before I make the switch:
Roughly when is official ICS going to be headed to N7000?
How well does it handle 720P MKV via DicePlayer?
Custom ROMs: What is the current state of development? Is there a stable enough ICS ROM I can use as a daily driver yet?
Can NFC be enabled via an NFC battery? (Ala GalNex)
Should I even bother with an i717?
Anyone want a MINT GSM GalNex + $$ for their White N7000?]
Thanks for reading.
ics is expected in March. The team rocket ROM is a daily driver.

+ Roughly when is official ICS going to be headed to N7000?
- ICS should hit before end Q1 2012, so sometime before the end of march, rumors has it early march, so fingers crossed, however there are a bunch of good daily use ICS roms based on the I9220 chinese leak (I use one with rare FCs), if you dont know/are scared to fiddle around with your phone, you might want to stay away from these, and settle for a nice root and wait for the official release which is right around the corner.
+ Custom ROMs: What is the current state of development? Is there a stable enough ICS ROM I can use as a daily driver yet?
- Yes, personally Iam using Rocket Rom ICS beta 1.5, its based on the I9220 chinese leak, works great with occasional FCs, there are a few out there, just make sure you follow the instructions, keep a good back up of stock etc, and you ll be fine, or just wait for the official release soon.
+ Can NFC be enabled via an NFC battery? (Ala GalNex)
- Dont think so, but dont take my word for it, im sure someone with more experience will give you a sold answer on that.
+ How well does it handle 720P MKV via DicePlayer?
- Not much of a clue, as i dont watch vids on mine, however a friend (also using a GT-N7000) of mine uses a different player (i believe its MX Player) and it runs very smoothly.
+ Should I even bother with an i717?
- Depends, the international GT-N7000 doesnt have NFC support, only runs HSPA+, while the i717 has NFC, and supports LTE, so if you really need NFC and your area has good LTE coverage (if you are planing to import it for LTE, make sure that the spectrum used in your country/by your operator is compatable FDD or TDD? 700Mhz or 900Mhz or 2100Mhz...etc).
Another thing to keep in mind, the N7000 has been out for a while, so you'll find more support the moment you get it, while the i717 is still new (however i hear the i717 owners are working hard to get roms and kernels out of the door, so this shouldnt be an issue down the road).
+ Anyone want a MINT GSM GalNex + $$ for their White N7000?]
- not for me thanks.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask, and good luck ^^.
oh, Also forgot to mention, the i717 has a 1.5Ghz dual core Snapdragon rather than the 1.4 dual core exynos on the intl. N7000.
also another thing to keep in mind is that AT&T/whichever carrier will rollout ICS at a later date than the intl. version, just things to keep in mind.

[Q] When there will be support for MHL & USB-otg for CM9?

It is the only thing that stops me from using CM9 ROMS... I'm using these features almost daily.
well the rom itself is very stable and very good, I'm very happy with it, although i'm waiting for the HDMI Support too... but yes, MHL is one of that "nice to have" features, I suppose that they will add it to the rom after they'll fix some other serious bugs and problems.
but since samsung already released the KERNEL source code maybe someone can take that MHL code lines and add it to CM9 kernel? I suppose it's not that easy as you and me think it is...
well, lets wait for it... after all, this is the best AOSP rom ever
Looks like the Thor kernel has the MHL code/module now... so just userland to port or replicate (license issues for CMx?) I guess.

[Q] Cm9 ~ Aokp Features

I recently flashed my P1000 with both Cm9 & AOKP Roms, after a quick installation of both Roms, i decided to AOKP rom as it seemed to offer more features and a secondary launcher which i found quite useful.
My question is in comparing the two roms, what are the main differences and features of each rom? Given that people are clearly fond of both.
I've that the Usb host Control apparently works using a Y cable in the Cm9 Rom,
I've read through AOKP rom thread where this feature is barely if even mentioned.
i am planning on getting a female converter next week to test this and am hoping i can stay on the AOKP rom but if not the Usb host feature might swing me.
Can someone spread some light on this thread please.
Since you are getting the cable anyway, why not you try and let us know if AOKP works with that.

I sure will do that Though it does say on the 1st page of Cm9 USB HOST works with Y cable and nothing related to USB hosting in AOKP thread, though i read the kernels were merged, so as well as trying to find out if AOKP supports USB hosting, i am wanting to find out what features Cm9 has that AOKP doesnt and visa versa.
Yeah, the "secondary" features such as USB host and TV out are not tested/mentioned in AOKP.
We need more users to feedback.
As for direct features comparison, it is also hard. Each gas their tweaks.
But AOKP allow me to toggle off the navbar completely easily even in the middle of a game.
That is superb.

I will be sure to add my feedback once tested, im hoping to to get a mouse and keyboard working on a Usb hub, but not sure if they can both be run at the same time, hopefully they can.
TV-out also brings up some interesting questions, as far as i know TV-out isnt working on the either builds, however i cant confirm that since i dont have a TV-out cable, and reading it doesn't work has made me somewhat reluctant to get one. Possibly someone else could confirm the workings of the TV-out as this is another feature which i am interested in.
The Tweaks part is also interesting as i understand each Rom has its little Tweaks which are hard to pin point, but that is somewhat what i am hoping to do with these questions.
AOKP rom control seems to have quite a few more options than the cm9 builds, I found the option to change music tracks via volume buttons was a really nice touch.. I would love a option for a LED torch as well but i dont think that feature is working in either builds.
I thought Humberos got HDMI Out working for CM9.

Tv out is working on Cm9, but sound is not working through the RCA cable.

Thanks for replies ; It would seem Cm9 is offering secondary features such as
USB hosting & TV out and possibly a few others which are yet to be mentioned.
I am unaware if AOKP currently supports these secondary/hardware related features. I have read that the kernels were merged but am unaware if the merging has brought these features though, It would be awesome if they have been.
Regarding TV-Out on Cm9 ~ If it is working in Cm9 i assume you mean only the HDMI cable is working with sound and the RCA with video and no sound?
More like it works completely using HDMI pin out.
As for RCA cable only video.
Something like that.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
I take it the TV-Out feature is untested on AOKP but confirmed on Cm9 with pin out cable, As well as the Usb host.
These seem like 2 solid features cm9 is offering that AOKP currently isn't, hopefully the TV-out will be implemented into in the near coming future. I will update the status on USB hosting hopefully later this week.
Stimpz0r just announced AOKP #40
Tv-out working.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
That truly is awesome news Seems like all the features are being integrated Between the two.. thanks for the update..i will now reconsider getting a HDMI cable along with a USB converter.
UPDATE ~ ON USB HOSTING
Usb hosting is somewhat currently working on AOKP.
I currently have my Tab wired up to a Usb hub, where i can view my 8gb memory stick and mount it.. I am also able to pick up my Cannon camera, however i cannot mount it.
Keyboard and mouse are not detected, though i think to get this working i need to try a different wiring method.
Question ~ I would like to know if anyone has got a mouse and keyboard working on a Hub ? on AOKP or CM9 as i think its the hub which causes a issue in this area, meaning as i currently stand i need to get a different configured Y cable.
