MIUI
I will be upgrading my phone in January, and I want the Bionic so bad but I would love to see the MIUI rom ported. Does anyone know if they're working on a port for Bionic?
Probably not until there is a semi-working CM7 port since MIUI is based on it. At this point development is just starting. I am sure that we will see something at some point.

His ROMs are still being updated and are available for download on another similar site. In-fact I'm flashing to his 2.3 ROM right now
Hi, just got my Note today, going to root it soon... I've been reading about unsafe kernels in ics roms, are any ics roms safe to flash? If so, which ones?
Any help is appreciated, thanks
Its my belief that cyangonmod 9 experimental builds do not use a leaked kernel and are therefore safe. I'm using now and build 3 is awesome. You need to save a file to a certain directory, can't remember which one, for video to work. But is a simple fix.

If u can wait the official ics it will be better man,and u have many things to try in ur note untill then, other wise play safe and read all posts throughly before flashing, congratulation on ur new note too

OK so if your new to flashing then I would advice you to stay away from cs for now and just read the basics for a couple of weeks (its what I did) .
And after you have fully understood how to flash using PC Odin ,mobile Odin
Learnt how to root ,install CWM and use it then be my guest.
The only safe and easy to flash ICS ROM is CM9 ,but you have to flash it per instructions and from properly rooted GB ROM.
I hope that helped
Welcome to the note
Thanks for the replies, definitely not new to android and flashing. Rooted and installed cm9, didn't like it so reverted back to stock rooted.
Thanks again

Fair enough. Personal opinion I guess. I think cm9 is the best ics out at the moment.

Stunner version 19 is the best rom I ever had on my gnote. Battery was even better then stock rom.
CM9, is still being developed, but looks extremely promising.

I totally agree! His .19 rom is the best rom I've used as well! If it weren't for the faulty kernel I might not even go through the trouble of flashing the official ICS rom when it will be released. Now I'm back on GB and it's still the best experience I've ever had on a smartphone but ICS is just the cherry on top.
I can't wait for the official ICS release so Stunner can do his magic with a non-faulty kernel.
i first diiscovered this rom on this thread

Here is the download link for the rom
and here is the link for the gapps
I did not build this but i have tested it. the data does work sometimes if you play with the settings but no camera. its still a very early release created by dhacker29 and hashcode and i just wanted to share it here too.
Hmmm I think I'll stick with CM for now. Too many bugs not to notice. Maybe if the Bionic wasn't my main device.....
Looks cool, defignitly not a daily driver though.

It will only run with an ICS leak in the unsafe partition?
I've been using it for about 24 hours now. Very stable, fast, smooth, and promising. Only issues I've had are the known issues of camera and data.

Actually right now the CM10 is preferred to use safestrap instead of bootstrap since it's in alpha stage. I tried it with safestrap 2.0 while running .232 on safeside. Very smooth and responsive with WiFi only for data.
You might want to brush up on your bootstrap skills since the ICS leak roms will only be able to load up with it to completely run. The ICS leak roms will require a much larger partition to run on and safestrap doesn't provide it.
Hi, new to the bionic but have been flashing my x and x2 for a while. I'm on the .232 leak with safestrap 2.0 installed. I got as far as >safestrap menu>enable safe system but then a warning screen appeared saying something along the lines of "are you sure, this cannot be undone", which scared me. Obviously i would like to return to my unsafe side.
also, i have read this link http://www.droidforu...ions.html which says i must go to mounts and storage and format /system. however i havent seen that step anywhere else i've looked. I assumed once i got to the safe system i should just flash the cm10 zip and gapps then wipe the big three. this is preventing me from flashing cm9 as well.
in regards to the rom itself, any update on data, im in a pretty well covered 4g area. also, i use my phone as a hotspot around my apartment and was wondering if anyone could confirm the cm10 hotspot works.
thanks in advance if you can answer any or all of these questions

Yes. Be on an ICS leak, and if you use Safestrap you install it on the safe side.

Vague reply is vague and potentially FUD. If you could explain your comment about the safestrap partition size, it would likely be appreciated.
The way I understand it is that Bootstrap is required for custom ROMs based on blurry ICS. If you're flashing an AOSP/CM based custom ROM, then Safestrap is sufficient. The reason being that Safestrap stores /system inside the /preinstall partition since it's mounted on boot and the internal or external sdcards, I'm thinking, are not.
/preinstall is not large enough after the ICS leak has been flashed to store a full blur based custom ROM and the original /system
Why moto decided to mess with the partition tables is beyond me. I can only guess that they needed more room on /system because ICS is bulkier than Gingerbread and they robbed Peter to pay Paul by taking the left over space from /preinstall. Novel solution, but it causes problems with safestrap.
This remap of the partition tables would also explain why an ICS version of Safestrap and Bootstrap had to be made.
safestrapped over .232 no data and i have the screen rotation bug. still awesome though
anyone have a working link to this and maybe screen shots?
[Q] Only JB ROM ?
Hello...is this the only JB ROM available for Bionic? As always, thank you to the Devs!
Seems to be. everyone is waiting for the first FXZ Leak of JB to really get it reliable. ( dont hold your breath from what i hear).. as i understand it.
If you check out rombot.org formally droidhive sparkyman has released tormented. It's based on cm10 he is updating it frequently and he is very supportive in the thred . A lot of people are getting solid data 3g more than 4g. Its very fast and quite stable. Here's a link.

FYI, this build is being revamped to use the new kexec kernel which will improve the overall experience a lot.
I'll post more details as it gets closer. Right now that build has some data issues that we're working through, and the camera is non-functional.

Hello, I'm thinking of flashing SlimBean 3.1 running JB 4.1 today.
If any if you have it now/ have had it, I'd like to know:
How stable it is?
How battery life is?
And other information you think is necessary for me to know.
I'm not a noob with flashing or anything, I just want to know more about this rom.. as I've read it has great battery life which is what I mainly look for!
Currently I have the stock GB JVU rom which I actually flashed coming from CM9.1 Stable. Anyway, thanks in advance!

I first wanna apologize for being a noob. I just rooted my droid bionic yesterday, first time, and upgraded to JB afterwords. So I'm running JB and was wondering if I could use ICS ROMs or any ROM on my bionic running jelly bean. If so where are some good sources and would safe strap be the best way to boot into them since I already used it to make a stock back up and open ROM partition. If safe strap is not recommended, what should I use?
-Thank you for any help

I would use safe strap v3.11 and use Cm10.1 its probably the best rom ive ran. you can download here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032257 only use cm-10.1-20130415 as of right now. if you use the latest then it will randomly reboot when your phone goes to sleep.
Thanks
