[Question] (Not) Working apps - Galaxy Ace S5830i General

Hello everyone,
A time ago I wanted to download iReal B for my phone.
I saw it's not possible because of the processor.
My question was, could I mod it (maybe with CPU sources (if they have been released, I don't know)), so it can be ran on this phone?
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda premium

And is it possible to run Reckless Racing 2 and Reckless Getaway ?

Sorry I forgot to say I've tried to install all apps (iReal B, Reckless Racing 2, and Reckless Getaway) (with Blackmart Alpha), but if I install them, my phone doesn't say: "Application installed.", but it says: "Application not installed.".
That's the problem.

Then it wont work. if you try and push through adb it will say something about your CPU not being compatible. Unless the games can be ported to Armv6 devices, you are s##t out of luck. Sorry.
Thanks if i helped you, even if it wasnt what you wanted

Yes, if I install them through adb i get:
Code:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_CPU_ABI_INCOMPATIBLE]
(on all 3 apps).
Is there a way to install them even if the CPU is not supported?
Or port them to this CPU?
Or something else?

I found a site where was explained how to install ARMv7 apps on the Samsung Galaxy Young by modding the build.prop.
Change ro.product.cpu=armeabi to ro.product.cpu=armeabi-v7a, but my phone ended up in a bootloop.
RZRecovery --> restore nandroid backup, boot and system.

Even if it did install, it would be laggy as hell and barely playable. Head on over to http://www.andropalace.net/ and ask the admin Royal Gamer if he can port it, if not. your all out of luck.

Cyanogenmod is fast. No bloatware, no samsung stuff. Angry birds lags on stock roms, but on cyanogenmod it doesnt. Even games like vengence2, pes11 & nfl plays smoothly.

hello @joryS5830...
Forget what it says in info regarding Chainfire3d (outdated info)... Get it on ya ace, Run it, install chainfire3d driver from within the app, phone will reboot auto. grab these plugin drivers : Qualcomm, PowerVR, Nvidia, install them from within chainfire app. choose appropriate driver plugin dependent on game being played. Enjoy ya games...hehe
FYI : each phone manufacturer uses different GPU/Driver setups... These plugins allow SGA to cover them all (sometimes choosing the correct plugin can be a bit trial & error)...
If I have helped then please hit the thanx button as on XDA the button is "WORD"...hehe
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky amigo...
Peace...
upgrade your phone
So if I install it and download those drivers, will the market enable the option to grab the games whose werent avaible for the ACE before?
hey @alcachofita...
If You are willing to upgrade chainfire3d from free to paid version (well worth the asking price believe me), then there is a market fix option within the app which makes most of the games available including the new Nvidia "Tegra" games. Sadly this option + the ability to configure chainfire + drivers on a Per App basis only becomes unlocked when you upgrade to paid, otherwise you will need to manually select the plugin of choice each time you change the game you're playing, although I find that the "PowerVR" plugin copes with most games without any problems... Nvidia plugin is mainly for "Tegra" based games. Hell, I have seen an SGA running the new Tegra game "shadowgun" through chainfire + Nvidia plugin ...(take a look at the game then decide if chainfire is worth the purchase...hehe
If this has helped you then please hit the thanx button as on XDA the button is "WORD"...
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky...
Peace...
FYI : if there is a game that you cannot find, PM me & I'll Dopbox it for you... I have a very extensive collection for my SGA, all working too...hehe

are you sure it works on ace ? i have seen posts where people telling they get a brick. have you tried it ?
Hey @Lijop...
I use chainfire 3d every single day for at least 2hrs on my SGA... Install straight from market, run it, choose install chainfire3d driver from within app, phone reboots auto. run again & choose install plugins (main menu)... All good with no worries...
Do Not install any cracked versions of chainfire 3d as these versions can and will cause issues in your phone (I speak from experience), only install from market...
I have used this app for the last 2mths without a single issue...
If I have helped then please hit the thanx button as on XDA the button is "WORD"...hehe
Stay breezy n be lucky...
Peace...
!! EDIT !!
I have just examined my own chainfire app & discovered that when you first install the chainfire 3d driver (not the app itself), you are given the option of also installing the experimental openGL driver... !!! DO NOT INSTALL THIS EXPERIMENTAL DRIVER !!! as the name itself explains, it is EXPERIMENTAL & will render your SGA Unbootable (again speaking from experience, Damn my curiosity) hehe. SGA already has an OpenGL driver that is more than adequate.
Remember, Install chainfire 3d driver, !!!Do Not install EXPERIMENTAL OpenGL driver!!! However, you will only be given the option if you have the paid version of the app, although the cracked versions also offer this option which is where I think other users have gone wrong & bricked their phones...
In short,
1. Be safe...Download & install from market...
2. Risk Bricking ya phone : Download & install cracked version...
It's a no brainer really...lol...
It should work...
I use chainfire 3d on my galaxy ace and it works even with 800mhz but it also depends on the rom you use for example on sgs2 rom v11.2 it isnt working.
And dont forget that you are responsible for every damage that happens to your phone .

4.2 Keyboard and camera

Android 4.2 keyboard with gesture, its as good as swipe.
http://m.pocketnow.com/2012/10/30/android-4-2-stock-keyboard-now-available-for-download-unofficially
After installing go to languages and input and check Android Key board
Hope it will be useful.
Download and Install
Now, getting it on your device is going to be easy for some of you, and less easy for others. You'll need to be on Android 4.0+, to start.
If you're on a phone with a UI overlay that has the stock keyboard disabled (eg, Samsung TouchWiz, HTC Sense, Sony), you can just download the apk below- no root required. To install, make sure you have "install from unknown sources" enabled in your phone settings, and after installation, go into your phone's keyboard settings and enable "Android keyboard." Then, you can switch to the new keyboard. This may also work on some "stock" Android custom ROMs - but it will not work on stock Android builds distributed by Google.
Get the apk here: http://d-h.st/XuS
If the apk doesn't work, you're running a phone that is either A.) running stock Android (as in, AOSP), or B.) running software that has the stock Android keyboard as an option, you'll need to download this ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case. Here's that ZIP file:
Get the zip here: http://d-h.st/36D
Source: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...d-4-2-keyboard-with-gesture-typing-right-now/

Do you understand what ARMV6 and ARMV7 means ? If you don't, you totally N00BS.
This keyboard pretended for ARMV7, keyboard will fit on any screen, our Mini doesn't really have ARMV7 Processor.\
Libs ? Do you even understand Linux yet ? If you don't understand or at least TRY it, don't talk about libs.

[MOD] Nandroid backup without booting into recovery

Youll like this Mod!!!!
Many of us keep on trying new roms every now and then and for that we know we have to always perform this "Pain In The A**" procedure of booting into recovery to make a BACKUP of our roms!!! . Which eats up a lot battery aswell. This mod will help you make a nandroid backup without booting into recovery.
I am not the developer of this MOD....I just helped the developer in making this mod compatible with our device. It works just fine. i have tested it myself. All credits goes to the developer himself.
Requirements:
1. Rooted android phone
2. A terminal emulator installed on phone
3. Latest version of Busybox
4. A working CWM based recovery installed ( Works even with the Temporary one)
5. Some patience
Installation:
1. Download and copy zip file to SD card
2. Reboot into recovery
3. Choose install zip from SD card, select zip and flash
4. Reboot
How to back up:
1. Open terminal emulator
2. Type su to obtain root
3. Type onandroid
4. Wait till it notifies you that the backup has been done :good:
5. You can restore it from the CWM recovery as you have always done.

As i said i am not the developer...just wanted to share this mod in our forum as it supports. Does it vibrates when the back up is finished? (The script from ameer's thread) . I think it has a add-on of vibration and led lights blinking as and when the backup is finished. ( We Dont have an Led light...(obvious) so that wont work.) I never ran the original script so i have no idea about the vibration thing at the end. This one does vibrate.

I did the onandroid backup with the files installed from the original thread.
2 remarks:
1) you need to install the extra zip file for s5830i referred to with a link in the thread otherwise you will get the error message that your boot partition is not found
2) while making the backup in the background it's better not to stress your phone to much otherwise you will get an automic reboot during the backup process even when the min frequency is set higher than 156 mhz. So I'm not sure if this will work if you will get an incoming call during this backup process

I can see at least one app on the Play Store that purports to do this ("Samsung Multi Window Manager"), though since I'm running CM right now I can't check whether it works for you.
you have to flash a mod for it to work, AFAIK
EDIT:I stand corrected, the description states that it'll work by itself. Needs root, obviously

Hmm, that's confused me, I thought it would have broke it system wise. I know how to flash, root, etc, but I'm not exactly sure how they all work, but I thought that flashing just overwrit the system+os. So two questions, when you root/flash does that interact with the hardware in anyway and how?
