try a solution from My Android Solutions
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT SD card, press power button for a minute , than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card...make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing to solve your problem
UGKG3 bootloader and flash files in My Android Collections
Thankkks

install this to find out https://play.google.com/store/search?q=root+checker&c=apps and flash this http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?0md9198nm85t89c with Odin for Root and CWM, if you want to upgrade to ICS or JB

I rebooted my Samsung Galaxy S I9000 today and got a bootloop.
(I wasn't messing with firmare or smth, it was low on memory and clearing doesn't help so I decided to reboot it)
When I try to enter recovery mode I am getting the same bootloop.
The only thing that I can do is to enter download mode.
But no driver is working for me so Odin can't see the phone.
The firmware is Andy Thomson's ICS (version prior to 2.8.10, one ore two earlier, I can't remember precisely) with Mackay kernel.
I've tried countless number of drivers on Win7 х64 and XP 32 and it's still "Unknown device".
I've tried Samsung drivers extracted from KIES (including latest 1.5.9.0)
I found some hacked versions that said to be specially modified for win7-64 and ICS roms
I tried to extract drives from Heimdall - no luck with that too
I installed the Android SDK and USB drivers from it
All of above didn't help
Any suggestions?

Holding power button without battery solved my problem with non-detecting device. When I connected it to computer, the drivers were automatically installed and now Odin can see my phone. (But without picture and the com port is on yellow background if it means something) That's at least something, thanks!
But flashing pit or kernel or pit with kernel (as in your instructions about bootloops) doesn't help. I still got a bootloop and the picture on boot is still from Mackay kernel despite i've flashed it with semaphore and didn't see any errors in Odin while flashing.
Still cant get to recovery mode (tried different combinations from your faq)

Thanks, but that part of the problem was already solved earlier in the thread.
But I did install Kies before that and it didn't help.

Thanks, but I've already reflashed stock and Jelly Bean after that. Everything's ok now except that I hoped to solve it less radically.

Never Flash Phone with low Battery Charge, use external charger to charge Battery First to full, if possible
First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
thanks 4 your fast reply!

Did that already, and will do that before i flash again.
Since i don't have an external charger, and no device where my battery would fit in, do u know what likely it is, that my battery is charging up?

it depends on what is causing the bootloop, If the bootloader is the problem, than it may not charge your phone . so try to power down and try charging, see if you get charging screen on your phone, when phone is "OFF"
Try not to take the risk of flashing with a low battery charge as , nothing would work, if you lose power when flashing botloader or when booting ..see My Android Solutions, scroll down
Hello,
My situation:
I was playing around with the phone, doing normal things, restarted it, but now it is stuck on boot animation (left for an hour, still on boot animation).
What i dont understand, is why this happened?.. I didnt change anything, apart from installing couple of games and force closing several apps since the last restart, but that shouldn't affect it, should it?
Is there any way of turning my Galaxy S on, so that I could at least save my contacts and then i could do a reflash...
I could do it now (recovery and download all works), but i dont want to loose my contacts...
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks

Yes, but all of the solutions require flashing, so not so in recovering contacts..
Hey, just try to flash another kernel via Odin! Maybe that fixes your problem...
(Flashing another kernel doesn't affect your data/contacts etc.!)

you will not lose your contacts by flashing only a kernel
Hi,
I was runing CM10 with Semaphore 2.3.0 kernel and decided to do backup. At the moment I had 20% of the battery and unfortunately, I've stopped backup process.
The problem is that phone is stuck in bootloop, doesn't want to enter recovery console with powerup+home+power but I can enter Download mode with powerdown+home+power.
What should I do?
Please help!
Download Odin and download an official firmware from sammobile.com.
Then flash it through Odin.
just use Google if u don't know how to do it.

Hi, today my phone crashed like hell and i decided to restart it. But first i got the bootloop problem. But after a few restarts the phone just started to boot up in the boot screen where it only says: Samsung Galaxy i9000 etc. My computer still recognizes the phone but only in downloadmode. I am using the Cyanogenmod 7.1, 2.3.7
Please help!
And sorry for my bad english. it's my second languade..
First, just try another ROM.
If that doesn't work, then do a factory reset and then try it.
If you are not able to boot to recovery, then download Odin, an official firmware from sammobile.com, and flash it through download mode. I am going to sleep,so Google it if u don't know how to flash through odin!

just flash an Ezbase rescue kit from My Android Collections
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
Tips before Flashing:-
Backup all your important files, contacts, SMS, game data, images etc to PC or Ext SD card. or make Nanadroid Backup If you have CWM
Backup your EFS Folder to PC or Ext SD card
Enable USB Debugging on Phone. Touch menu> Settings> Applications> Development>
Charge your battery to more than 50% before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Disable Samsung KIES when using Odin. Kill Kies.exe, KiesTrayAgent.exe, & KiesPDLR.exe using Task Manager on PC
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3

Thank you so much mate everything works great.
I use this thread...
I have a very big problem here !!!
I merged 2 i9000 broken in one that i think would work ... (one was only broken the screen, i use then it's mainboard on one that have the screen working)
It turn on, but remains the i9000 logo fixed and go in bootloop, I can only get into download mode and not in recovery.
Thinking it was a problem of bootloader/kernel/rom, I tried to flash anything:
JVT rom with bootloader
only kernel
Ezboot
SBL
JIG
etc .....
but no success, stuck on i9000 logo and no recovery mode.
any suggestions?
sorry for my bad english, Please help meeee ! :crying:

I assume you have you looked at the various solutions in My Android Solutions
since you have merged this to work, is it possible the motherboard had problems, did you try switching motherboard.
Most of all, I need to see the booting log, as to what are the errors, you are getting to understand as to why its not working ...hope you can post especially anything that is appearing in red
