Hey there Guys,
First to begin with, I am Extremely sorry, if i am re-posting(Being a Noob i had no clue what to do), however i tried to search alot, though failed to find my way out of this issue.
Firstly let me give you guys a better background.
I was on the Official Stock ROM LGP970 V20C, the New Zealand version.
After waiting endlessly for the Official ICS update, i dare to root my phone and update Ice Cream Sandwich, and after researching various ROMs,
I Decided to go for the [ICS 4.0.4]Unofficial CM9 - Nightly 6a Released - [27/08/2012]
Now i followed the Video Tutorial on the thread [Video Tutorial] HOW TO Root LG Optimus Black P970 Running Gingerbread - Any Software
Now i was able to Root the Phone
When the Phone Restarted on CWM Touch Recovery Mode
first i wiped Factory/Reset Data
followed by Cache Data
and then entered Advance and Wiped Davlik Cache
I first installed SuperUser.ZIP
Then i Installed
FreeOptimusProject-Nightly 6A.zip
follwed by gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
and Restarted/Rebooted
The Phone Reboots just fine,
and then i logged in using my personal account details and tried downloading apps
now the Play Store downloads the app, when it goes into the "Installing" Mode
the phone reboot on its own and restarts.
Now, ive followed every single step in the process mentioned on the either links like literally religiously
and for past couple of hours ive been trying to crack my head to make it work.. though i am not at all able to
I would be really glad if some one can help me
Please
Use another ics rom.
Nightly 6 isn't the best out there
I would recomend AOKP

I just finished Flashing the particular ROM you mentioned, the camera works fine, not a major issue with that, however
there is issues with Text Sizes
if you see the attachments.. the normal system text size is "Normal"
however textsizes in the APPS are "Large" and i am unable to find solution for the same, there is no individual text size option for certain apps like facebook whatsapp so how do i get an uniform textsize all across the system?
Extremely sorry for the typical Noob questions!

where from did you get it? I'm using temasek's CM7 kanged, and it is working good..
About the google apps, not all can be installed from GAPSS, just like google maps, find it in blapkmarket then install manually. I don't know why but when you set Lg Black as your device in the market, you won't find google maps, but if I choose all device, google maps will appear.
same here with both versions (2.2 and 2.3) gps dosen`t work, badly i found and fix the satellites but i can`t drive , only works with fix the satellites in hidden menu , any optimus black that gps works in standalone?
i have installed the Zeus V1 and is cleaned and stable!! remember do 6 wipes before install any rom

Well, stock ROM is 2.3.4 but which version? Germany, Spain, Indian, European, Singapore, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Baltic, (aah too many to be listed) Another repack based from V20N are also 2.3.4 but it already has difference than stock ROM, such as Zeus ROM.
Please be more specific with your description, so others might can help you..
+1 for me too.
I tried Knzo's NOVA 2.2 - Actually I was happy with it, but I just want to try something new.
I also tried redy2006's V20N Germany - to taste some gingerbread stuff
I also tried CM7's nightly build but I have some issues regarding the audio quality and etc so I reverted it - will wait for a stable version
I also tried temasek cm7 for optimus black cm7kang-p970-P20-37 but after flashing, it doesn't have market installed lol
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421425
What rom would you guys recommend?
Had no problem with CM7 nightlies - for audio I use PowerAMP, didn't notice sound problems. It also has an option to change the buffer size for audio.
Tried V20N for a few days, it's ok, but I want root, I want to be able to remove unnecesary stuff, and could't root, so I'm going back to CM7 tonight.
As for GPS I use iGO, and it works!

Hi guys,
I own a Galaxy S i9000 mobile.
It's running on :
Android 2.3.3
Baseband : DXJV9
I have not rooted it or did anything till now.
I wanna flash ICS AOKP on my mobile..
I have tried using the search option but still im soo deserted.
Can you guys guide me on how to root, flash CWM recovery, and flash ICS please ?
and Does Galaxy S supports ROM Manager ? coz i've been using Galaxy Ace before and it didn't support it..
Thanks a lot
For Root read this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
You need to download file ending in JVP. Usually you want the one ending with last 3 digits of your baseband but as there is no JV9 JVP is close enough and is reported as working. Besides it does not really matter as you just need this for root.
Once you have root you can simply follow the guide in the AOKP thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524108
I know you have stated you want AOKP but if you want a bullet proof simple way to get this all done start with this thread for Team ICSSGS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493
I usually like to make sure I have all necessary files, roms & programmes before starting so if anything goes wrong I can get my phone working again. This tutorial will help you with that also.
After following all of this you should have a good understanding of what to do and then you can flash AOKP as their instructions are kind of limited.
Also when choosing an ICS Rom this is a great thread with regards to performance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554621
AOKP is a wonderful choice.
But if I can give you an advice, wait for the next Milestone which is expected to be released over the next few days

That link for flashing Team ICSSGS has help for everything else. From downloading stock rom to flashing with Odin to flashing ics (in this case team icssgs)
You could potential substitute Team ICSSGS for AOKP.

Great
and finally, Which version of the kernel should i use for official AOKP b34? 1.1.0 or 1.1.0s?
Not sure but both should work. 1.0.1s is for slim ics and other roms. If it is not compatible it will break 720 video recording & playback otherwise eveything else should work. There is also a video patch somewhere.

Alright..I've flashed AOKP b34 and Semaphore 1.1.0s
Everything seems to be fine
But now my sdcard is mounted as internal storage and the actual internal storage is mounted as sdcard..is this a bug or what ?
Even when I connect my phone to my PC using USB,only the actual internal storage (which is mounted as SDcard shows up..
I personally haven't 1.1.0 only 1.0.1sbm with slim ics. I think the 1.1.0 is still a test version for cm9 but could be wrong. Things may have updated since i last looked but i recommend reading the semaphore thread and posting there for more help.

Known bug in Semaphore. Make sure you enable the 'Netfilter' module in the app. When it randomly doesn't work, which is the bug, simply check and uncheck it 2 times and it will work.

You would need to be on GB to be able to upgrade to ICS...
1st Step is to Update your phone to GB: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum/threads/samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000-flashing-to-original-rom.46/
2nd Step is to root your phone: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...-i9000-rooting-gt-i9000-2-3-3-india-ddjv9.47/
3rd Step is try any ICS ROMs available: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...dwich-4-0-x-for-samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000.83/

Why all the spam?
- CF ROOT
- CM7 or straight CM9 will be enough too imho!
I prefer going to CM9 through CM7. Giving me less problems.
So CF ROOT - just pick a CM7 nightly here http ://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd - a CM9/ICS ROM of choice and let's go!

after then flash CM9 twice, because on the first time it bootloops- dont panic! just do a three combo (to get to recovery and then flash cm9 and then any ICS Rom of your choise)
did it work?

For some reasons the CM9 was giving errors
(THIS APPLICATION HAS STOPPED WORKING)
so I flashed another rom [ICS ROM]Tiramisu+ I.C.E.A.G.E. V.1.9.6 I'M DIFFERENT!

I was thinking if there is any way by which we could keep multiple roms on phone. SO that we could choose at the boot which one to logon.
I wish if that was possible.

Yes i'm everyday waiting to see new nightly with interesting updates.
KU5900 ICS is made for my OB
fast (gaming same as stock roms)
stable ( no FC & restart since day 1 i installed it)
good battery backup (2 days modarate use)
apex launcher works with this... smooth and battery friendly launcher :good:
i also like zeus 6.4 & 7.1 but the earpiece becomes unusable after some time of use and tweaking..
i dont know what the issue is.. coming from v10b then root with gingerbreak 1.2 install clockworks and flash its recovery mode
then flash 6.4 or 7.0 then 7.1.. both roms experience earpiece abnormality which KU5900 doesnt experience.. i hope heuzzz sees this post
as i cannot post on the developers area yet..

KU5900 is the only ICS ROM which has a better camera comparitively with other ROMs....thats my opinion(only tried KU5900,Ultrasound 3,and Tezian ROM V3so far)
u know, diffrent people different opinion.....
or
u can try many available ROMs and can decide by your own.....
Dear all XDA Developers
i have samsung galaxy note n7000, after we got the official JB update the device went to be so slow, so i choosed to downgrade it to ICS and i download the sogtware image from (www.samsung-updates.com) as i told it should be official software images.
and i downloaded the ODIN v3.09 for pc, connect the phone and install, it fiinished successfully, AFTER that i start to got the error, the phone shutdown suddenley and got the screen said "RST_STAT 0x2000000 User Fault, not kernel panic, upload mode"
i tried to install again and still have the same error the it is random no specific time, then i download and install the Philz and wipe the phone as for install a new ROM and install the same image then got the same error after two days.
my request is how to solve this problem and where to download an official ICS for my GT-N7000
i hope to find the solution here in XDA developers
best regards
No one can help??!!!!
Is this issue so difficult and there is no solution or any idea about solving it??
It depends on how you choose. Going your path back to official ics could be problematic. So i would just go forward install a custom jb rom such as Aryamod then the problem is solved and u will have a beautiful and fast rom. Done.

Also, stock ics is known to brick phones.
as i got the official JB via update the device is too slow, so would that problem solved when installing a custom rom? and which rom should i choose? and the problem now is with the device hardware? or just the ics??
as i searched before it on the internet i found that this is a GPS problem!! how can i check that please??

Did you read my post at all? It has got most of the answers. Trying to flash a custom jb using Philz kernel you already have is quite easy

1stly, After getting JB update from OTA, it's recommended to do a factory wipe in stock recovery (This is what Samsung CS told me). I tried and it works (at the expense of having all my data n apps gone).
2nd, Like @forest1971 says, there's many good custom Roms And you can choose per your liking. I strongly oppose going back to ICS as of the brick bug threat. If you really want to downgrade, might as well go for GB.
3rd, WHAT is the point of our good Dev's spending their precious time and cracking their heads to come up with a custom rom IF they are not BETTER than Stock roms?

Installing through odin is the best method for flashing stock rom. You have done it right. Just remember NEVER to do a factory reset anywhere with ICS. Not even in recovery
