Dear all XDA Developers
i have samsung galaxy note n7000, after we got the official JB update the device went to be so slow, so i choosed to downgrade it to ICS and i download the sogtware image from (www.samsung-updates.com) as i told it should be official software images.
and i downloaded the ODIN v3.09 for pc, connect the phone and install, it fiinished successfully, AFTER that i start to got the error, the phone shutdown suddenley and got the screen said "RST_STAT 0x2000000 User Fault, not kernel panic, upload mode"
i tried to install again and still have the same error the it is random no specific time, then i download and install the Philz and wipe the phone as for install a new ROM and install the same image then got the same error after two days.
my request is how to solve this problem and where to download an official ICS for my GT-N7000
i hope to find the solution here in XDA developers
best regards
No one can help??!!!!
Is this issue so difficult and there is no solution or any idea about solving it??
It depends on how you choose. Going your path back to official ics could be problematic. So i would just go forward install a custom jb rom such as Aryamod then the problem is solved and u will have a beautiful and fast rom. Done.

Also, stock ics is known to brick phones.
as i got the official JB via update the device is too slow, so would that problem solved when installing a custom rom? and which rom should i choose? and the problem now is with the device hardware? or just the ics??
as i searched before it on the internet i found that this is a GPS problem!! how can i check that please??

1stly, After getting JB update from OTA, it's recommended to do a factory wipe in stock recovery (This is what Samsung CS told me). I tried and it works (at the expense of having all my data n apps gone).
2nd, Like @forest1971 says, there's many good custom Roms And you can choose per your liking. I strongly oppose going back to ICS as of the brick bug threat. If you really want to downgrade, might as well go for GB.
3rd, WHAT is the point of our good Dev's spending their precious time and cracking their heads to come up with a custom rom IF they are not BETTER than Stock roms?

Installing through odin is the best method for flashing stock rom. You have done it right. Just remember NEVER to do a factory reset anywhere with ICS. Not even in recovery

Hey Everyone
I have SAMSUNG GALAXY S and is currently running on the FROYO 2.2.1
FROYO.XXJPU and want to go to the ICS version
I tried searching on the forums and still not got the complete answer
Please let me know on how to do this
Thanks
First flash valĂșe pack and then root it using cfroot.
After that install any ics rom you like through recovery mode.

You would need to be on GB to be able to upgrade to ICS...
1st Step is to Update your phone to GB: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum/threads/samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000-flashing-to-original-rom.46/
2nd Step is to root your phone: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...-i9000-rooting-gt-i9000-2-3-3-india-ddjv9.47/
3rd Step is try any ICS ROMs available: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...dwich-4-0-x-for-samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000.83/

Why all the spam?
- CF ROOT
- CM7 or straight CM9 will be enough too imho!
I prefer going to CM9 through CM7. Giving me less problems.
So CF ROOT - just pick a CM7 nightly here http ://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd - a CM9/ICS ROM of choice and let's go!

As I have FROYO 2.2.1 XXJPU right now
Do I install any of these
CF-Root-XX_OXA_JPU-v1.3-BusyBox-1.15.3.zip
CF-Root-XX_OXA_JPU-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1.zip
Again thanks for your help
Just take the last one, and you can flash it in Heimdall or Odin. Don't forget to install the proper drivers.

you have to flash it twice, to get in new recovery, i mean the update.zip from rom manager...
after then flash CM9 twice, because on the first time it bootloops- dont panic! just do a three combo (to get to recovery and then flash cm9 and then any ICS Rom of your choise)
did it work?

For some reasons the CM9 was giving errors
(THIS APPLICATION HAS STOPPED WORKING)
so I flashed another rom [ICS ROM]Tiramisu+ I.C.E.A.G.E. V.1.9.6 I'M DIFFERENT!
and its working great.
I was thinking if there is any way by which we could keep multiple roms on phone. SO that we could choose at the boot which one to logon.
I wish if that was possible.
Sorry again ratl0lz, but this is not spamming. I have already written something for helping others and just asking them to visit the page instead of reproducing everything here. Just see the reply to your reply, just writing too technical may not help for someone who does not know things as good as you know.
Thanks,
Getting sick of the ICS battery and kernel issues and have decided to clean out the phone and install everything fresh.
I am currently on an unrooted stock ICS ROM (N7000XXLRK) and understand that I should go back to a GB ROM first then install ICS. I will search on here for a guide on how to do it (links welcome ) but am confused as to which ROM I should use of the many stock ROMs posted on here.
Since I am going to do a clean install, is it worth going back to the XXLRK ROM or is there an improved one which has sorted the battery kernel issues out? Which GB ROM can I safely go back to without confusing things before I reflash ICS?
Is it recommended that anything else is added or flashed while I have the hood up? Unless there is an uber stable custom ROM I want to stay stock, but will want to root it.

upgrading to the latest ICS kernel doesn't necessarily guarantee that your deep sleep and excessive battery usage woes will go away.... your deep sleep and battery drain issues are subjective and have lots of factors that might contribute to it.
Don't let the notion fool you into thinking that your issues(above) will simply be resolve by simply upgrading to the latest firmware. Because I'll tell you now.. it will not still. (infact there have been people complaining that upgrading to the latest ICS one have increase more their battery drain than ever before), unusual as it may seem... but it has been complained about already.
Just like to let you know that...

Fourth if you are facing deep sleep issues or your device is not going to deep sleep mode then OP can try this..
Turn ON the Airplane Mode.
Switch Off your Phone.
Take the battery OUT for a minute or TWO
Put it back and start your phone.
Wait for everything to load
Turn off the Airplane Mode.

I have tried the method you describe and also looked at CPUSpy with BBS and on top of that I have the keyboard lockup issue too in Chrome.
It seems that the quality of the phone is completely lower since the ICS updates with it not providing a full day of use on one charge as well as me having to be careful about bleutooth/wifi usage and time that I use the phone to surf. Quite ridiculous really and I haven't had to use a smartphone like this since the days of the HTC Diamond.
Before I revert back to GB and be done with it, I want to try an nice clean ICS install and give it one last chance, unless there is a custom ICS ROM you think I should consider.

Yes, using pc odin you can flash what you like. If you want good battery, it's worth doing a clean install ie perform data wipe/factory reset to clear any old mess, obviously if you're going onto ics make sure you have a safe kernel before performing any wipes at all.
To be honest though, for ICS you're getting pretty good battery life, I doubt you'll top it except going back to GB.
All the best, let us know how you get on.

Yes, I understand that WipeAll is the best way. But this mean, flash safe kernel = root (or can i just flash safe kernel on my stock ICS via PC odin? )
And root ICS = go to GB directly rooted kernel and....etc.
In my old Galaxy Spica I have change kernel or mod (rom) every month but was always just 2.2 froy. So no worry about it.
And still i am reading all thread of all rom in XDA. No rom is perfect. Its working but sometimes some bugs...so i am tired (2 years with Spica) of looking for the best kernel for my note.
Now i want just one normal working with a little good live of battery
btw. What is your live of battery on custom kernel 4.0.3. ? If you say i have pretty good battery i will not it change

Firstly battery: ics swallows a lot more juice than gb, so what you're getting is pretty good. I'm currently on paranoid android jb beta 1.4 with Beastmode kernel and getting roughly 8 hours with 4 hours screen on. I use it a lot! When I was on pure ics 4.03 I was getting around the same.
Roms and kernels: if you flash an already rooted gb, you can do so now with pc odin and it will automatically root. When you've done that, check to see if cwm is installed as it may be part of the package in which case your good to go, if not just flash a Chainfire kernel. Then you have cwm recovery (vol up, home and power) and flash this rom package which includes a safe kernel.
Hope that makes sense.

I presume these ROMs have their kernels built in.
Would you thus recommend one of these custom ROMs for my requirements over say stock ICS with perhaps a different kernel? I am not really looking for lots of features as I would like to build up the apps on my own, ie shut out bloatware. I would like it to be stable and have at least 15 hours of battery life with 3-4 hours screen time, which is what I enjoyed with GB. How do you think CM9 fits in with your selection?
Last flashing I did was on a Dell Streak which was easy as there was only DJ Steve at the time, Seems with the Note I am starting again from scratch, completely different flash process and loads of ROMs. Sort of blinded by it all to be honest

You may try flashing GB or ICS, set right the phone. Later you can install JB.

Does anyone confirm flashing again the rom fixes the unknown csc? The same version (v5.1) or another version (previous as v4) of the rom?
CSC= UNKNOWN
same problem with me, also hanging alot
please someone comeup with solution..
Some problems after installing Ultimate JB 5.1
I came from CyanogenMod 9.1.0 Stable.
On the whole Ultimate JB 5.1 is good but:
1) Bad battery life - the wifi stays on 24x7 even though I mention only when charging.
2) The Google search doesn't include options for Evernote and Google Drive and other apps. I don't know if it is specific to this Rom or JB.
3) I can't go back to CM9. The package doesn't install anymore. Do I need to change the kernel in Ultimate JB 5.1 first?
Ultimate XXLSC JellyBean 4.1.2 v5.1
Kernel 3.0.31-593490 [email protected] #4
I wanted to post this on the much larger thread in the development section but it says newbies can't post there :crying:
is it error 7 in recovery when installing new rom? then you will need to change the kernel. but keep in mind that the other kernel you try might not be compatible with this rom and thus you will have access to recovery /download mode only. make sure you have all the required files to flash the rom before hand
Hello all,
I'm from indonesia and currently I'm on ultimate ROM 4.1.2 V5.1 from joosh and I had a problem everytime made a phone call.
The phone call always hang up or disconnect after couple times. It never let me make a phone call more than 3-5 minutes.
What do u think guys? Is it because the modem or because I had a bad signal from operator? How can I find a solution for this kind of problem...
At the first time I thought it was just a bad signal. But it happened all the time when I had a long phone call
Thanks guys and will appreciated any explanation.
Happy New Year to u all

Hello there XDA.
First I would like to apologize if this has already been answered. I searched for the past 3 hours but did not find anything that would fully answer my questions.
So I have a Samsung GT-N7000 Galaxy Note running the stock 4.1.2 LT4 ROM (rooted). The device is unbranded and bought from Germany. Because it lags horribly everywhere, I want to get ICS and the old TouchWiz back, so I decided to downgrade to the latest ICS ROM that has TouchWiz 4, and, after searching, I found that it is N7000XXLRK.
These are my questions:
- what do I have to do to fully wipe the phone before I downgrade to N7000XXLRK, therefore completely removing any traces of older ROMs, in order to do a clean install? Do I have to use some option in PC Odin? Maybe wipe some partitions in Recovery (I have installed PhilZ CWM for LT4)? Cache, data, system, or maybe some others, too?
- what partitions are safe to wipe from CWM and what are not?
- what else should I do to ensure that the new ROM works properly?
- is there anything that needs to be backup-ed, aside from apps (I use TitaniumBackup for that) and all files on the sdcard and external_sd partitions?
I mention that before LT4 I had all Stock 2.3 ROMs, all Stock ICS ROMs 2 AllianceROMs and 3 leaked Jelly Bean ROMs.
Thanks in advance.
See friend... this is Easy, I think as you are on xxlt4 u must be running philz, c.o.h or speedmod//??.. if yes, boot to recovery and go to mount and storage option and then format everything... after that.. go to the bootloader, VOLdown+home+Power.. and then directly flash your ICS ROM, this would be a perfect clean install!!!
hit- THanks please

Hello NoteboyTech.
All right. Thanks for the answer. I will try it. Yes, I am on official XXLT4 with PhilZ CWM, but no custom kernel.
P.S. Have you or anybody else tested this before? I may be a little paranoid but I am afraid not to brick my device, as I have read that some users were unable to use the phone function after formatting /efs or /boot in CWM.

I have 2 more questions: what is the fastest kernel available? Isn't HydraCoreNirvana faster?
What is the most stable kernel? (aside from stock)

I am afraid you wont get answer to that question (these questions are not allowed here). he already told you what he thinks is best, either use that or try them all for yourself from "kernel repository"

Flash firmware
<----- Click Thank Its Easy
How to it won't enter Download Mode or Recovery mode...
That guide got little problem , flashing twrp using odin is for gingerbread, in jelly bean use cocore kernel for twrp and i also got same experience with you but i get into download mode and flash frimware http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=29206 again to fix it .Download the file first and try go into download mode anywhere and flash it ,if cannot go to phone repair shop
Why would you follow such a tedious guide to get TWRP, when you can just flash CoCore kernel with twrp? Well now just try to get into download mode and flash stock jb again.
OK guys thx will try CoCore kernal... I am able to get into Download mode sometimes so guess will flash Stock Firmware from sammobile...
After Stock Firmware=>CoCore Kernal=>Custom ROM
Hope this time it goes right...

In the future look for guides here on XDA, not on some third party sites... You have all explained here, just look good and read.
For future - do not flash GB kernel over any other ROM than on STOCK. Do not flash CM kernel over Stock JB, do not flash stock or CoCore kernel over CM based ROMs.

Well but they didn't mention we can do that with stock recovery so not sure about it..
Can you help me with CWM recovery if there's any for this phone, I found a temporary one but don't know it would be helpful or no... I've used CWM earlier on a phone...
CoCore if is hassle free then will go with that.. Coz another run dunno how it would turn out to be... :cyclops:

I have installed the ehndroix v ROM... They have Superuser built in, so no need for SuperSU.. Thats good..
Now when I use Titanium BackUp, it says the su binary is outdated.. So where to get the new su binary from? how to confirm what version it is and how to update? I know Superuser is not into this, its just a management tool.. So how do I get about it?
Thx in advance

If TB is working then no need to update it...
Ok Thx.. Yes it seems to work.. Like it verified the backups and restored it too.. atleast it started the installer and I did install..
BTW seems all the features I use are working n this Firmware.. However is there a better option than Nova Launcher, I tried GoLauncher but didn't like it much compared to Nova....
Also I found FM Radio missing in this firmware and also the default Music app.. I installed default Music one from F-Droid and also one from PlayStore but where do I get a tuned in Radio? All are internet based... Spirit FM is very expensive... Can you help me to find the stock one for this...
Thx in Advance..
One Learning, since I'm new to Android (correct me if wrong), Dalvik cache can be cleared at will if you want to force android to rebuilt the apps cache for faster loading.. Right?

There is no other FM radio for CM based ROMs. Only Spirit FB, and there is free version too. Look on XDA for developers thread.
You can clear Dalvik cache, and it will rebuild after reboot. But there is cache already, so I think it will not speed up loading more.
Ok so guess, won't be doing the wipe frequently...
Will search xda for Spirit Free...
Last question:
Which launcher do you suggest?
Thx..
