[Q] Indian Sims not working in galaxy s - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys
am very new here
pls forgive me if am posting in the wrong section!
I bought my galaxy s an year ago in US
from a guy already running cyanogenmod
n was using T-mobile
but once I shifted back to India
none of the sim cards(airtel,Docomo,BSNL) seem to work!
I am currently using a Vodafone sim card
in which very rarely the internet works
but calls n msgs still dont!
when I take it to the service centre they say it is a problem with my IMEI number not being able to pick up the Indian signals
this is my only phone as of now
I still haven't gotten any clear picture of why it is not workin
it is not a factory locked phone!
pls help

Go to samfirmware. com and download jvu 2.3.6 firmware for your country..
Flash it via Odin.
I m not sure that it ll work..
But no harm in trying..
Good luck
If my post helped, don't mind hitting THANKS

T-mobile in the US uses (1700 band) as such it would fail to work in India, you need to visit the Modem review thread for the best Indian modem or you can find any modem in My Android Collections
try changing modems, should and might solve your problem, if phone is not sim locked, if it is than visit you nearest phone technician or use a sim unlock from above link

wow!
thanks guys
ill check it up right away!!

So what's ur status now??
Any progress??
If my post helped, don't mind hitting THANKS

an not finding jvu

Thanks in advance, but can you please tell me your time zone and the time you enter work, just to send the private message at the correct time. And if you could describe the firmware I would be thanked.
UK
I'm in the UK so GMT and 8:45am
If you want can hit me up on Gtalk or email me on iammodo at gmail.com
not sure is the xda app sends notifications
can't describe the firmware never used it,
I will get it from AnySVC and then upload it for you.
if you dont know AnySVC is what samsung partners use to get firmware when repairing phones. so if all 100% official never touch by anyone else.

I am also looking for the original firmware for the 9000t (panama) These are the ones being sold in Bermuda. Seems like a lot of people are having trouble with the phone after flashing the wrong firmware. Lack of support is amazing considering the amount of phones Samsung has sold.
PDA: I9000TUBJG5
PHONE: I9000TUBJG7
CSC: I9000TUBBJ4
At least then I could start over with a base eclair 2.1
maybe
maybe I should post the link to a thread then rather then just this one guy would that help?
Nice Idea!!!

I was actually thinking of saying that to you. Coz If you search trough the forum, you will find a lot of people asking for the GT-I9000T firmware and no positive answer for us. Thats why I created this thread.
And with anySVC are you saying it was the very first firmware out? Do you have the PDA, MODEM and CSC of the firmware?
And when you have the threath can you post here the link to it? or just comment that you have created it?
Thanks again
on AnySVC it will have all the released firmwares for each model and will be the pit, csc, pda, and modem.
Okay take it Tue i9000t is for the virgin islands.

That firmware is going to be perfect, because I think I`m going to be able to update with kies to my original firmware. And as a suggestion, if you have acces to any firmware, you could upload them to the thread you are going to create. That would be nice.
That is the only one on anysvc. Which means its the only official full firmware.
Will be ready about 12 noon GMT.

If you are with telcel and the phone is still in it's warranty period just brick it. The will exchange it as soon as the support person isn't able to boot it.
I changed 2 phones that way after bricking them!
I have a way to return the gt-9000t from Claro PR to rooted stock if the phone is semi-brick (enters download mode only) PM me if you're interest or to post it here.

do you have CWM recovery? just download a rom like Dmod, and flash...
if you want you can flash via odin a stock 4.1.2 (or 4.1.1) ROM.
see here (Sammobile)-> http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/
select you phone model gt-8190(see if you have the8190, 8190N or 8190L version.) and your country
and share your results after trying ;D
and btw can you change you title to some thing like this "[Question] phone doesnt show serial"?(copy & paste)
you're also on the wrong sub-forum this should be posted under "Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting"
Try to do a backup of your apps+data with titanium backup and try to flash your stock rom, that should fix it.

That makes things a bit more complicated, as I have the USA AT&T version. I may be wrong, but I believe you will need to acquire and flash modules from the original ROM in order to get it to work...

I can't make a call. Each i try to do so, it only stays at calling but the receiver is receiving my call and when they answer my call, my phone still stays in calling so without being able to do anything, i end call. Phone will then lose the network, no bars no nothing and it will reboot. It happens to any call i make, even pressing any random number, as soon as i hang up, it will lose all network and then restart.
when receiving a call, i can accept it but hear nothing. and again, after i hang up, my network will disappear and phone will reboot by itself. I really need help
