[Tweak] Pimp my Rom - LG Revolution

Found this and it turns out it is pretty cool. Lots of tweaks. Some stuff already baked into BO. Oh, and this is for BrokenOut!!!!!
:highfive: to Fuzzy13 for pimpin' his esteem first. I found this a few days ago but was waiting for someone else to do it first. lol. Thanks Mane!!!
Original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908269
I have already made the tweak to the script and it's ready to flash. Pimp-my-ROM_LG_Revolution {it's large, very large. over 100mb. Here's your warning} Pls be easy ppl. it's on my dropbox I'll add a mirror after my boss kicks me out tonight
Make a backup then just flash in cwm. It will open an aroma graphical interface that will allow you to install many tweaks and a few apps. Choose stock based GingerBread ROM So far everything seems to work. Just remove any init.d tweaks that were not baked in the BrokenOut2.0. (ie...v6, tweaks, thunderbolt, etc...) Best to start fresh!!!!!
When finished, just exit (do not reboot from pmr, you will get a cwm error). reboot system from cwm.
Enjoy!!!!!!!
***edit: If by chance you get the 'no boot animation', it's a simple fix:
Edit the line 'debug.sf.nobootanimation' of your build.prop. Change the value to 0 (zero)

Can I use this even if im not starting fresh? If so, would it be conflicting with any of the BO scripts?

The only script from stock bo that conflicts is the loopy smoothness. Pmr names it smoothness. But it will take over v6. Unsupercharge then flash pmr. But as always, make a backup!!
Just remove the baked in loopy script after you make your backup.

I dont think i have V6 unless it came WITH BO. So am i going to be fine?
So to avoid the smoothness script conflict, I should just uncheck the "smoothness" script? or what?

its fine. it won't cause any probs you'll just have 2 loopy smoothness scripts. no harm. I just deleted the one from pmr after the initial reboot. and don't get scared, the initial boot will take a min. didn't even show my boot ani. lol.

So i found the smoothness file. and I found the "PNAME="$USER_LAUNCHER";
So shold I put the com.sonyericcson launcher or whatever on there? or just leave it

I deleted that one script and use the stock loopy script from bo. It's easier to tweak.

My initial boot took 8 minutes. It had me worried!
EDIT: Still no boot logo on second boot. Also took 7 minutes that time.

Will this work with all roms, ie all versions of BO and stock?

In theory yes, but Idk if it will work on stock Rom. Just make a backup first. Iirc, a guy used it on his wife's stock esteem. Said he saw a tremendous improvement.
As far as removal, Idk. I'll get back with that info soon.
I have been using it for a few days now and I get fabulous Batt life. I do suffer from the no boot ani, but boot ups are faster than on a stock kernel. Just amazing. But remember, to give your phone time to settle before giving up. besides aroma is cool.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app

For stock Roms, you would need to enable init.d support. Without it, your init.d scripts will not run by themselves.
to enable init.d support in stock rooted roms, use a file browser and go to the etc folder. look for init.qcom.post_boot.sh and add '/system/etc/init.d/*' to the bottom of the file. Save and reboot. Enjoy.
*Edited. Forgot a letter.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app

OP updated for the 'no boot animation' issue. If you want to call it an issue. and to let you know, after enabling the boot ani I have not noticed any increase to the boot up time. In fact, sometimes my ani doesn't even get to loop before the lock screen shows up.
And for those that don't like the extra long boots, they will shorten up. Give your phone time to settle. the long boots are for the scripts configuring things. When you think about it, there are a lot of files that are tweaked (zipaligned, deodexed, etc...). the scripts are set up to optimize files that are not already optimized. So, the boot time will decrease. Don't get scared. It's only a phone.

changed partition mounts--- for less data corruption
patched sqlite's----IMPROVES I/O
honecomb 3.1 fugu mod-IMPROVES SCROLLING/RESPONSIVENESS
All new init.d files---PARTITION MOUNTS,CACHE,SYSCTL,KERNEL
Sysctl.conf----TWEAKS KERNEL AND I/O SCHEDULER

It has been reported to work on the Motorola Atrix, so that gives me hope for some additional improvements on the D3.

I looked throught the zip. It contains some files that the D3 doesnt have (or are in a different location). So some of the changes will probably do nothing.

Did you do anything with the sysctl.conf and init.d?
Sorry for the delays... yes, as stated above, the zip files will not flash to the D3 (even though they do flash to the Moto Atrix??).
But you can definitely rip out files push them with Root Explorer or ADB commands. I haven't had time to mess with that but I may jump on it later today. Glad someone else tried and showed positive signs. That is encouraging.
I applied manually.
Don't notice any difference, really. But it may respond better to my finger. I'll have to run it for a few days.

I snatched the files from the latest SteelDroid to enable init.d. However I also used the scripts from that rom as well as they include alot the same tweaks.
I discovered that the sysctl.conf tweaks have no affect. We dont seem to have access to those adjustments. Perhaps because of our stock kernel?
for you, if you have a stock kernel to enable init.d .....

Should be able to reflash Gingervolt 1.3. I think it has adrenaline in it, but 1.3 is so stable and smooth. I tried a couple of the additional tweaks beyond 1.3, and honestly came up with sluggish results. If you want to save battery, you can go into your programs, and turn off the auto start options. There are a lot of programs that suck up your ram, and you can turn them off. Turn off most of your automatic options. Auto bright. If you constantly have wifi on, you can go into your scripter, and space out how often it pings with a wifi source. You can go in and change your LCD density (if you do that, you will need to adjust it to download from the market)
So, if you are running Gingervolt 1.3 and have done no other tweaks, right now, you are using a pretty battery friendly ROM. If you tweaked beyond that and you are experiencing issues, just reflash 1.3. You will need to reflash Blitz too.

Always do a backup. You never know what can happen. Yes, reflash gingervolt 1.3 and then the blitzkrieg. Don't forget when you reboot the phone it will be set at the 1.0 speed, so you will have to go to setcpu, or whatever you use and adjust it accordingly.

If you clear cache/ dalvik and flash gingervolt I believe you will lose any theme and any other tweak you may have flashed (like supercharger and adrenaline shot). Other than that, it won't get rid of your apps unless you do a factory reset.
To be more clear, go to cwm, wipe cache, then dalvik, then flash gingervolt. Reboot. Then you can go back to cwm and flash any theme or tweak you want to add on.
Shouldn't you wipe data/factory reset in cwm before flashing to get a pure and more while flash am I wrong

[Help] Supercharger V6.

Hello Revolution community.
I was looking around and I came across this. However, I do not know whether or not I have to do the SuperCharger Starter Kit. (I assumed you did so I did so).
But, when I went into Script manager it kept telling me to run it as root, which I did and I was totally confused. Why is this occurring?
I played the folder in the /sd, not the /_externalsd
Can someone please help me?
And do I even need this?
I just ran it from my download folder, make sure its checked run as root, and click save.

If you are on a stock rom, then I would suggest running the starter kit. It adds zipalign and sql to the system so you can run certain tasks within v6 like wheel alignment.

it would make a huge difference. Use the new V6, the one with T16 at the end of the file name. It does everything automagically when you run it for the first time.
I can't find that file anywhere

this is a patch which allows you to edit the governor of each core independently, as well as setting each its own min / max frequencies, IT'S NOT MY WORK AND ALL THANKS GOES TO Smokin1337
Firstly dl the zip, then flash via your chosen recovery, I flashed on fresh installs so I recommend you wipe your cache/dalvik cache to be on the safe-r side of life , if flashing over a *settled* rom
You will then need to run the command "su" in terminal emulator , followed by "cpu"
Then all settings are self explanatory inside the terminal emulator,
Here's the op
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584508
Here's the link to terminal emulator in the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=enO
This mod , may be cancelled out by other mods and/or settings saved from them, I would recommend clearing data from system tuner, set CPU, CPU tuner etc, and reinstalling them without making changes to CPU , also disable forced dual core if you have a 3rd party app enabling it. Er........ I think that's it
.....nope, if you restore from apps such as titanium back up, any data containing CPU configs you restored may need to be removed too, if you want to make sure you are getting the settings set in terminal emulator and not those launched via init.d or on boot completion
Enjoy

As long as you don't have init.d scripts in your system/etc that can conflict, you shouldn't need too, I re run the script everytime I flash a new Rom. So 3 times a day sometimes lol , but once a week should be more than adequate, the cleaning script should be done, at the end of each time you supercharge

Now, here is a guide.
V6 supercharger is highly unacceptable to me for jellybean. Never use it. Unless in gingerbread. Thats a foolproof way to escape its consequences.
In 4.0 and above, try your best to use pimp my rom or, use the rom just by itself. Note that 4.1 in terms of frame speed is already tweaked by the source codes itself. Or, if you want to use a tweak you found, see the base android version used to test it. That way, if the tweak is based on jellybean, feel free to use it on CM10! Unless stated incompatible with jellybean
Will not try it(v6) again. Phone wont turn on(stuck at boot). Had to wipe data/cache/dalvik.
