Unlocked work with WIND Mobile? - HTC Incredible S

I'm currently on a Canadian TELUS carrier, IncS Unlocked and rooted.
Originally a Bell phone, will this now work with WIND Mobile?
I'm running Black rose, S-Off device

you need use a program for simlock off

But the phone was originally locked to Bell and now unlocked so I can use on TELUS. Doesn't that mean it would work on all other carriers?
Unless Wind is different somehow?
My IncS was bought off someone else and it came with ARHD, S-Off'd and immediately worked with another carrier (He was Bell, I TELUS)
Could someone help me out with this?
Thanks

Your phone is likely SIM-unlocked, so it'll work on any compatible network (Rogers, Telus, Bell, AT&T in the US, etc). Wind Mobile operates on a different type of network from Bell or Telus though. According to Wind's website (here) you need to have a phone that can operate on an AWS network with bands 1700 and 2100 MHz. Wind Mobile is the only network in Canada that operates on this frequency and the networks that I mentioned above operate on the 850/1900 MHz frequencies.. HTC's website (here) unfortunately does not list the Bell Incredible S as being able to run the frequencies (1700/2100 MHz) required for Wind's network.
That being said, there is an international version of the Incredible S that DOES run on the right frequency, but I don't think these phones were sold in North America and the North American phones were sold without the 1700/2100 frequency.
Anyway, I hope that makes sense!

I hear those commercials on the radio all the time was thinking of switching myself.... Best suggestion is to phone them and ask if the incs is compatible. Would really like to know what you come up with.

Please see this previous thread. also note that a quick search is always better than starting a new thread.
a sim unlocked bell phone will NOT work on Wind/Mobilicity/AWS providers (unless they offer 2G Edge services)
the radio in the phone is NOT compatible with AWS carriers.

LG P925 (or P920) with 4G or 3G for T-mobile USA network?

So, I'm using a P925 thrill AT&T branded which is UNLOCKED on T-mobile USA. But only getting 2G edge data speeds, and I'm being told no matter what I do, or what baseband I flash, I will never get anything other than edge on this device. My question is, is there a comparable device that DOES offer 3g/4g T-mobile USA compatibility?
I'm trying to migrate from unlocked iPhone's (again, using on T-mobile USA) to Android - simply because I'm bored of iPhone's... Have had them all except the 4S - but have a iPhone 4 so its pretty much the same thing. While I know the 3D of the Thrill is a little gimmicky, I think its one of the coolest "gimmicks" to hit in a long time, and because I only recently got a 3D TV -- well, recording 3D video's and watching them at home is pretty effin cool.
So, am I stuck with a T-mobile branded Galaxy device if I want 4G or 3G on T-mobile USA?
Any advice would be helpful, since I'm pretty much an Android Noob! THANKS!
If I remember correctly the optimus 3d might work with t-mobile usa. But you might have to double check just to make sure .
This is off topic, but how did you unlock your phone?
You should be able to use the 2100 UMTS band with T-Mobile, but I believe you need both the 1700 and 2100 bands for full 3G. If so, you need a baseband for either T-Mobile, Wind or another Canadian Carrier with T-Mo's 3G bands. The nice thing about this phone is it's flexibility of use with other networks by baseband flash. (Now we need other leaked GB basebands.... Ugh.)
If you want a non branded Android phone that works on Tmobile 3G/4G bands look at the Incredible S, Sensation (International Version), Sensation XE, Nexus Galaxy, the TELUS version of the Galaxy S II and the Nexus S.

yes o3d p920 works. but there are 2 versions of p920. make sure it has 1700mhz baseband. this is where i bought

So are there any basebands available that I can flash to my p925 to get t-mobile usa 3g/4g speed?
Q: how did I unlock my p925?
I took it to a store, and they unlocked it for me.

[Q] Does the HTC One support wind mobile?

I want to get the HTC One but apparently it does not support my carrier bands. It appears that the t-mobile version of htc one has the required 1700 band but I am not too sure if I am doing this right. Basically does the t-mobile version of htc one work with wind? (wind apparently supports only the aws band, the full FAQ on wind's website:
There are a few criteria for bringing your own unlocked phone with you to WIND:
a) Must be compatible with our network. The WIND Mobile network uses a frequency called AWS, with bands 1700/2100.
b) Must NOT be locked to another carrier
c) Phones compatible with the U.S. T-Mobile network often work with WIND)
If not, are there any versions of the one that do? I don't really feel like going all the way over to the us to get the phone but if there are no other alternatives, I guess I'll just have to do it. Thanks.
Anyone? A simple yes or no would be ok for me.
I've wind in italy, i don't know if is the same, but for me works fine...

[Q] International Version ???

Hi there
I want to buy the HTC ONE "again", but the problem is that I'm not sure which one.
After some research, I've found that there are several different versions of the HTC ONE:
HTC 801n ONE, ONE HTC 801e, 801a ONE HTC, HTC ONE 801W ...
Well why "again"?
Thing is that I had one until recently, the 801n, i got through a contract renewal in Switzerland, and I was very very happy with it!
But the trouble started when I went on a trip again. I travel a lot between Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the US, and due prolonged
stays in these countries, I have a simcard in each country, as well as prepaid and contract, each with internet access (3G and 4G).
Now in Mexico I noticed that my brand new HTC ONE 801n, was not compatible with the frequencies used here (3G, 850Mhz with Telcel Mexico), which made it useless as a smartphone. Therefore I sold it. But I loved this phone, so I am going to buy me a new HTC One!
Question is, which HTC ONE is the right for me?? Also I read everywhere on the internet about an "international" HTC one, an "international version"??
Is this one of the above versions I mentioned? "International," does it mean that it will work with all the frequencies in all the countries I travel to? With at least 3G Internet can use, perhaps even with 4G? And where do they sell it? And how can I identify it?
Thanks for your help

Not really, because already sold mine europe htc one, and looking for a new international one, which I can use in in europe and in the US, without hacking or flashing it.
And as noob in the smartphone area, i wouldnt be able to do it,even right now i am having problems to understand what they are talking about in the other thread
International version means it isn't locked to any specific carrier yoy basically any sim from any country should work. You should check that the network frequencies that the phone can handle are compatible with the country that you're visiting but a quick check of the phone specs will tell you that.

You just need to look at the table in the first post
First, find out what 3G/4G frequencies are available with what carriers in each country you travel to. Then you can pick a model that will provide the most coverage. Just going off the 850MHz 3G requirement, you have a few variants to choose from.

US and in Mexico , 3G 850 MHz , and one thing i read was that if the 850 MHZ are not supported by the phone, it seems that it doesnt matter that all other frecuencies avaible in the coutry are supported, the phone wont work with 3G, no matter what. is that right.
No beeing right now most of the time in Mexico for the rest of the year, thinking to buy the HTC One in the US HTC online shop, the unlocked version, 600 USD,
and it says
This HTC OneĀ® unlocked version comes with: 32GB of onboard memory and is SIM unlocked.
- HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)
Now, at Telcel Mexico , they told, if I buy a phone in the US, it has to be an ATnT compatible phone, and it will work without a problem in Mexico, same frecuencies as AtnT.
Are those the frecuencies used by AtNT??
If the only 3G frequency your carrier supports is 850Mhz, then it doesn't matter what other frequencies the phone is capable of.
Look at the table in the HTC One variants thread, and compare the frequencies of that phone with what is listed for AT&T. And more importantly, what Telcel Mexico support.
What about 4G and Europe, are they high or low priority? The Asian variant supports 850Mhz 3G and has a good overlap with the European 3G and 4G frequencies, but not the US 4G frequencies. What do you consider more important?

[Q] Is this possible to do?

To start with, kudos for this site. I have been reading it many times and am amazed at the community of developers around here.
Secondly, I searched but couldn't find my answer anywhere. And lastly, I apologize to the moderators if I posted this in the wrong place.
Anyway, here is my question: I have 2 HTC One right now, one is from Sprint and the other from AT&T. Here where I live, Sprint will only go on GSM networks but AT&T goes on the 4G LTE network. Both phones are unlocked since I am using them in Canada.
Is it possible to flash the Sprint phone with an AT&T Rom so I can force it to go on the 4G LTE network like my original AT&T does? I am in the impression that there are not many different phones except many carriers have specific bands that they use.
MAny thanks to those who will guide me in the right direction.

no you can't flash a gsm rom on to a sprint phone. sprint is cdma. you'll mess up or brick your phone.

You may want to list your specific carrier, but pretty sure Sprint's One only supports 1900MHz-band LTE.

This is correct. The sprint One will not be able to use AT&T's LTE on 700mhz.
Can't understand something.
I am on Virgin Mobile. When I use the Sprint phone, it says GSM as my connection. When I use my AT&T phone, I get either 4G alone or with the LTE symbol below it.
Both phones has the same menu when I do the *#*#4636#*#* so can someone explain why I can't get 4G on Sprint using the same SIM card?
I thought they only made one phone and added the rom that best suited the carriers.

Nope, it's much more than just software. There are several models of the One that HTC manufactures so they can optimize the antenna design to various regions/carriers.
The Sprint model can connect to the following frequencies (link):
2G/2.5G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G - UMTS/ HSPA: 1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 14.4 Mbps
3G - CDMA: 800/1900 MHz for Sprint
4G - LTE: Sprint: 1900 MHz

I wonder than why it doesn't connect any higher than GSM? I mean Virgin has roughly the same frequencies as Sprint if I go by the chart you provided. Never thought this was going to be that complicated...
Hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but I'm also interested in trying to flash a WWE rom (non carrier specific) to my phone, while I do have a sprint htc one. I reside in a region that only utilizes GSM so i don't need support for CDMA. Higher up in the thread someone stated that doing so would lead to bricking the device, but has anyone ever tried?
You can get psuedo-4g on gsm using the sprint model, you just wont be able to tell because it will only say gsm. 14.4mbps is the 4g you get with att unless it says LTE along with it, then you are connected to att lte.
The sprint model only has the LTE radio for sprints LTE in the USA. If you slid a tmo sim in your att phone, it wouldnt be able tp connect to LTE eother since they ise different bandz as well.
Hope that made sense

Yes, many have done that. A quick search in the general section will turn up several threads with a similar title of "I accidentally flashed a GSM ROM on my Sprint One and now it's bricked." The solution is to ruu back and you can get it working, but I WOULD NOT FLASH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A SPRINT ROM FOR A SPRINT PHONE.

So then...whats the problem you seem to believe sprints version is the only one without att LTE, when in reality, the inly one with att LTE is the att version.
You cant flash a tmo rom on your att version even though theyre both gsm.
You cant flash a verizon rom on your spribt phone even though theyre both cdma.
Like i told you, 14.4 mbps is HSPA aka "4g" on tmobile and att. And you keep saying "it only goes upto GSM". Do you even know what youre talking about? Put the sim in your sprint phone, you will get "4g" GSM speeds. Use an app like sppedtest to try it out. "4g lte" means you are connected to the lte network.
If you get wifi everywhere you go, i honestly dont understand the point of this thread.

Exactly. I don't even know anymore if I have had a straight answer or not!
I found a link somewhere on this site that shows Sprint phones in their lonely category. I guess it does look like the Sprint HTC One phone was made with leftovers, sort of the black sheep of the family.
I so wanted to be able to transform it in a 4G LTE working phone but now, it looks likes it's a pipe dream after all:crying:.

The Rogers phone can be carrier unlocked. I have one, it's unlocked and working on telus, lte and all.

A Rogers XT1058 will not work on Wind, it does not support HSPA on the 1700/2100 Mhz frequency band.
To the OP, you need an XT1053 model of the Moto X to use it with Wind Mobile.
The XT1053 is not sold in Canada, it is sold in the US as the retail/tmobile/gsm dev edition.
Unlocking a Rogers XT1058 is easy and less then 10 bucks but it still won't enable the AWS bands for HSPA. It will only work on Telus, Koodo, Bell, Virgin, Rogers and Fido.
Yup ^^^
That's about what I read. And most unlocked phones I looked at before buying my Moto X said work on all carriers.. Except wind. Not just the Moto x either... The G2 was another for sure.
