Hi !
THANKS !
Archos community will always have priority for me !
- make sure that when something new appears, and I will have time , I will not hesitate to bring some versions already established.
Good luck ! :good:
I've installed over the AOKP (250G, turbo, 8"). Seems to be ok regarding the speed.
But, after 10..15 minutes of sleeping, the tablet don't wake-up. I have to log press the power to power off and power on again.
And the process is reproducible,
I installed it and my G9 didn't boot anymore with 4.0.7 deodexed. Installing a different kernel didn't bring it to life again, so i needed to reformat.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium HD app
I installed the firmware 4.0.24 after being formatted, installation ok I then installed the SDE official, I then copied the image ext4 deodexed version 4.0.7, I have to restart developer edition, j 'I flashed the kernel Surdu petru redemarer the tablet on Developeur edition, the first start and stay on the archos logo for a minute. everything works the only problem score and I / O remains of 758 with 4.0.7 and kernel 4.0.24 surdru while a score I / O 4500 I do not understand a pourquoi.merci sudru for work
I Surdu petru, I might just be me, but you might want to double check the kernel version in the zip file is correct, I downloaded, unzip and flash, uname -a reported being 3.0.8+, I checked again and the same again...... Then I flashed a 3.0.21 kernel that I had built myself and that's alright.

It's normal this 3.0.8+ ....otherway you can not flash kernel ( kernel is 3.0.21 but for work on 4.0.7 should be match on 3.0.8 ! ) ::good:

If I understand correctly, you've used 3.0.21 Sources with a 3.0.8 .config? Fair enough.... A normal 3.0.21 could probably be made to work with 4.0.7 rom, Your difference would probably lie in the powervr drivers which archos split out on the new kernel..
No Matter, Like I say I ended up flashing my own...... Just thought it a little strange :good:

I've also had this problem on the same 4.0.7 rom (deodexed), possible incompatibility ?
(Works fine on the normal 4.0.7 rooted).
Surdu, is there anyway to get the smartassV2 governor available in this kernel ? I find the battery life awesome using this on my phone.

Hi everyone,
I need tun/tap driver to get openvpn working. I know some kernel/rom have that, like CM, neoblaze, djdroid etc. But I want to keep stock kernel with stock rom because I have tried every roms and the stock one satisfies me the best! But it only lacks tun driver !
Can somebody compile a tun.ko file working with the stock rom and kernel? Thank you.
I've tried and I don't think it's possible. tun.ko requires the kernel to export the symbol "outer_cache" which it does not. (only tegra kernel seems to be missing this as default...). It's an easy fix, but to use the generated module you would have to replace the kernel as well (to one that exports the required symbol)
Thank you for you answer.
I have tried to do that too and wasted 2 hours. I wonder if I do it right. I downloaded not the aosp kernel but the v20l kernel source from http://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource-detail.jsp?detailCustomerModelCode=LGP990. I used this tutorial http://stevechui.blogspot.com/2011/10/compiling-kernel-modules-tunko-for.html. But the Lg sources doesn't include the tegra folder.
ergoen, you seem to say that you managed to create a tun.ko file with a slightly modified stock kernel ? That would be what I search for.
just flash spica HP kernel SR2 and if you want flash the PP7. it does support tun.ko and cifs.ko already tried. good luck if you want to try (in his kernel it's not module but it's on built in driver)
i use vpn to my office with vpnc connection and it good to go
here is the link if you want to download vpnc connection
Code:
http://code.google.com/p/get-a-robot-vpnc/downloads/list
just download the vpnc connection.apk don't download anything else in there
Or try the Modaco custom kernel r26 with GR5. You can get a nearly stock phone with that.

It's not possible to keep stock kernel and just add the modules as if... You have to recompile the whole kernel and flash it... So why doing this as other kernel based in stock sources are available? Install SR2 kernel from spica and it will be perfect. A you perhaps... Know if you change only kernel it won't affect your /system, so you ROM will be stock like...
Don't waste time trying to make things that have already been made and working.

Because I tested other kernels and even if there are lots of improvement authors do, there are some bugs they introduce (ex: neoblaze => tethering not working, thanatos 4.2 => mybackuppro not working, cm7 => hdmi partialy working, djdroid => changements I don't like, etc) or changements I don't like. That's why I like the principle of using the stock rom/kernel as long as everything works.
I don't know about spica kernel, it's the only one I've not tried with swiftextreme. I will try it maybe later because restoring apps takes some time.

Flashing kernel doesn't touch /data you don't need to restore apps.
NeoBlaze seems not working with 20L. swiftextreme works only with CM7.
Hey there,
i've just built tun.ko vor v20l stock kernel.
Added a "struct outer_cache_fds outer_cache" in tun.c to replace a missing symbol in the stock kernel.

Thank you so much tantalus! Although today I just installed Django with spica kernel (so with tun), that file should be usefull to other people!

Hi, this is my first kernel, this based on the latest Ultima ICS kernel from riyal, with two minor tweaks
-now touchscreen reponse while swiping is 4px instead of 9px, so no more bumpy movements while draging items
-official "Sony Ericsson" boot logo
Information about the touchscreen problem (if you have not noticed it):
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/40474
the problem is present in latest FXP (but probably not in next's) and also in stock kernel ICS
The solutions was 99% done by nicklas lof, here:
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/22164/
Works in Stock ICS, 431 and 587, it should work with FXP releases too
Installation:
Flash kernel using fastboot
Flash original Riyal wifi Modules using CWM
Riyals kernel thread is here
I do not deserve any credits on this, I just moved a line in code to compile and changed logo. :good:
What is Stock ICS 538? or you mean 587
the recovery are same or did u update it too ?
I have to install the img with fastboot ... And I have everything right???
Thanks for this kernel. will give it try one of these days
New Kernel for PRO [MK16a/i]
Thanks dafsoftware :good:
So just to clarify. Everything is the same as Ultima ICS Kernel v1.4 with the changes you made for the touchscreen precision and SE-X logo. The WiFi modules to flash are also of the v1.4 too right?
I'll try this when you confirm my query, as I am running on the Stock ICS MK16a 4.1.B.0.587 (US) build. I'll try to post any issues that I come across after flashing
[email protected]
MK16a Rooted, BL Unlocked

You are right, this is based in Ultima ICS v1.4, in fact Riyal already has this in his sourcecode, so next's versión should already have this fix, you have to use v1.4 modules

This is based on latest riyal changes, I think it has voltages messed up, so I will have to build it from stock kernel someday. I dont know how to add recovery to it.
I am, but not exactly when disconnecting the charger, only when its charging and very randomly, I think the source I am using has a messed up voltage table, I need to find the original voltage tables to fix it.

OK - after reading more it sounds like there has been some structural change to the driver model (something that needs fixed at a deeper level). Anyway, it would be great if you could additionally provide us with a ROM set at 2px just so we can see for ourselves.
Ext4
Does this kernel support the Ext4 partition? Great kernel by the way...
Edit : and.... Swap partition?
Even better than that, I notice that the Touch Move app has a "tune" mode which allows the user to tune the sensitivity themself. It's currently only compatible with a couple of GSII custom kernels:
http://tegrak2x.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/touch-move-tune-compatible-kernels.html?m=1
It would be interesting to see if we could get Touch Move Tune working on Xperia devices too.

Not working on a new and fresh installation of XXLSA. Stopping at Samsung logo while booting.
I'm restoring my GB backup now.
Will try again with one of the next version.
Re: [KERNEL][26/01]Rhythm Kernel 2.0 *Beta 1*[CM10.1/CM10/AOKP/TWJB/TWICS]
Agree with thaidai .
.I got to the "android is upgrading " ..it finished upgrading and then rebooted back and ended in a loop ... So doesn't work on touchwiz ...

Thanks reporting. Must be missing service.
Need to install TW myself to fix this. Aww..
Hello everyone, first of all I'm not a developer I just compiled the sources of the team ARMv6.
The rom is compiled with Linaro and JustArchi's optimizations for better performance.
To install the rom is required TLS recovery
I and XDAaren't responsible for damage to the device

He used a different toolchain(linaro, very much optimized for armv7) and used justarchi's optimization flags to compile rom. And he used kernel 3.x sources. You need to use tls cwm recovery to flash this rom. And before flashing rom, wipe system, data, cache, dalvik-cache.

Sorry for this noob ques ... What do you mean by " TLS CWM Recovery " ???
Does it mean " The Latest CWM Recovery the 6.x version " ???
Btw, does the camera works?
Is this the recovery??? http://www.4shared.com/zip/E2bFi810ce/recovery-clockworkmod-6052-swa.html
It say, " SWAPTLS " something like that and it is CWM 6.0.5.2, also it say it is for " GALAXY5 "
I've heard that Galaxy Mini also known as " GALAXY5 " & " Galaxy Pop "
Well if it is not the correct recovery, can you please link the " TLS CWM Recovery " that you use
Thanks in advance

Don't flash it. It'll brick your phone. I don't have a stable internet connection. Ask the op to upload tls recovery here.
Appreciate for the warning Venkatesh
Dear Mata99, please do upload the " TLS Recovery " here
Really need to try this :fingers-crossed:
Soon new version
changes:
update sources
Fixed implementation JustArchi's (performance boot)
Removed Linaro (After some tests there are real improvements in performance)

there u go
In my opinion CM11 with the kernel 3 runs faster and more stable
Wi-fi works
The camera work (less color).
I could not send a file by bluetooth.
General the impressions are positive.
Will be possible to overclock? (864mhz stable for me)

As @Mm7 and @HandyMenny said, kernel 3 is abandoned. So, there won't be any updates and fixes(slow sd card and audio shuttering) for kernel3.
Did anyone try this? If yes, share your feedback here.
Already downloaded your ROM, but I heard bluetooth does not works?
It is important to keep everything worked . . .
Using JenkinsKitKat is better I think

haven't flash it tho, but already download it . . .
and I choose to wait for your future update
@op, ics_chocolate branch of kernel 3 is too good. I suggest you to use it(and you need to disable pm_runtime to get good performance).
Hello everyone I built TWRP recovery.
I would like to know if it works correctly?
