It would be easier to just re flash Amon Ra recovery and restore it isning that, then flash twrp and make a new back up...
For a flashable zip...off the top of my head you would have to mount the IMG on Linux and take out everything...maybe magic iso on windows would work? Once you get everything out just download a ROM and replace everything with the files you extracted...system goes in the system folder and data in the data folder... idk if it will work or not though

I'm using rom manager and I like more the clockwork recovery image than amon ra's, especially cause I can rename the nanroid backups(with amon ra' s recovery image I didn't find a working way to do it)
The problem is that this recovery isn't permanend and only works from rom manager. And it's in flashable zip format and not img.
So, I searched to find an img format to flash it permanent.
And I found it in wildfire' s forum. I've flashed and works.

It's good. I'll take this

I hope that you can help me,
Could you please share the Wildfire's amonra recovery?
I really need it! Thanks!
No use asking for the recovery. Nowadays, you cannot flash a Tattoo ROM using wildfire recovery, it will give error due to non-matching system.

If your s-off try a fastboot erase. If your not look into it. After a fast boot erase do a full wipe. Then reflash your recovery via adb. Then backup all your data to your pc. Then format your sd threw your pc and restore the factory defaults. Then reformat your sd threw recovery. No swap no partitions just fat/system. Then redownload the rom and gapps. Flash the rom then gapps right after. Then see if its boots up. If it does then boot into recovery make a nandroid, restore your data then and carry on. If not then run the ruu in zip format. Then update your radio, profile and prl. Then locate the hero root apk thread. Follow the instructions. After that you'll be rooted again so boot into recovery and make a nandroid of your sense rom for future updates then reboot. Then boot back into recovery do a full wipe and reflash your choice of recovery via adb then reflash the rom and the gapps. It should boot up. Hope this helps.

Hey,
I want (well not want, it's necessary) to change from CWM to 4ext recovery touch. i donwloaded the 4ext recovery updater, flashed the recovery from the app and rebooted to recovery. still there is cwm. i tried again with the classic version of 4ext recovery but the result remains the same.
i'd be glad if anyone can help me.
regards
If I'm not mistaken they are integrated..... Synergy!!!!!
i don't know what you're trying to say. my point is that 4ext recovery does not start when it should start. instead cwm is starting.
I'm trying to say that 4ext recovery is integrated into your cwm recovery to allow for 4ext partitions and backwards compatibility to 3ext. If the recovery isn't working you haven't told me that your original h-boot is 2.0000.
yeah right, i didn't told you that.
thanks for your help anyway. i managed to get it working by myself through flashing it via fastboot.
Good to hear no problem.
I am having the same problem. May I know what you mean by flashing using fastboot?

I asume you somewhat know how to use fastboot or read up on it. Havent flashed through fastboot for some time now but I think the line would be "fastboot flash recovery recoveryfile.img"

Just my 2 cents, but you can't install core Droid with 4ext, so I have to wonder at it's advantage over cwm.?

Hi,
I don't know how you solved this, but I had exactly the the same problem with an HTC Desire, can't upgrade to 4ext from CWM v2.5.0.7.
In my case, I solved it by running unrevoked again, but specifying the 4Ext recovery image. (I used the 4Ext app on the phone to download the appropriate .zip to the SDCard, then transferred it to the PC and extracted it there.)

Just came along this thread by accident.
Just for reference:
This is nonesense
4ext recovery has nothing to do with cwmr and they are not integrated.
You need to be s-off to be able to flash a recovery from inside your rom.
In the case you are not s-off, just download (or install) the recovery via recovery control/updater.
It will prepare your recovery config, but it cannot effectively update the recovery partition when you are not s-off.
So after you did that, you need to flash it manually.
You will find the recovery.img you tried to install or downloaded via recovery control in your sdcard's download folder.
A really strange case,
I can't wipe. when I do, it goes to boot loop. I just can flash with odin. So I can't flash custom ROM via CWM. What should I do?
Have you tried getting cwm files and replacing your old ones? Maybe your recovery is corrupted? Can you connect your internal/external sd to computer? If so I would just replace the cwm files or just get the ext 4 recovery files. Then retry reflashing. Have fun.

The strange part is here,
I can flash a new kernel, I can restore, BUT I can not do wiping ...
Maybe the recovery is messed up, how can I change it?
How can I do this?
replace the cwm files or just get the ext 4 recovery files. Then retry reflashing
I have the same problem, I can flash new Kernels or Roms but if I try to Full Wipe it goes into a boot loop. I end up having to restore my nano backup for the phone to start working again....

Hello guys, today I changed the hboot of my N1 using a zip file taken from the joelshawdow thread (this is not the first time that i do this operation!!) and unfortunately I forgotten to wipe everything except the sdcard;now, when I go into the 4ext recovery, it said to wipe the system partition but it stuck into the operation without complete it!..if i try to install a zip from sdcard, 4ext seems to start the installation but doesn't display any information of the installation and seems to be blocked!
Can someone help me please? Thank you so much!
