yes i am really curious too. I think this will work as i can't see a connection to the bootloader here. it only states u will need a rooted device but i could be wrong ofc.

Yes it works, however most of the tweaks that are listed don't show up to be selected as we are on a stock rom.

Which tweaks would you suggest to try? are there any tweaks which are displayed but should NOT be used?
Thanks for the answers. I've tryed it and installed some tweaks and I can confirm that most of the tweaks works, more or less. It appears to have increased gaming performance with games that isn't tegra 3 optimized, like Cubes, Radiant and other games that isn't gpu heavy.

Hi guys! I'm new here in this forums and I'm buying my new SGS+ in a couple of weeks. I can see there aren't that many ROMS and custom firmwares, but the ones that exist are very good! I want to know if the official ROMS are fast and good for everyday usage, gaming and listening to music. I know that the custom ROMs like Cranium and BroodRom are super fast, but I always prefer official firmware. Please express your opinion and give me a suggestion. I have experience with flashing a SGS+, so it's not a problem for me.
Well, these custom ROMs are in fact just modded stock ROMs. So you can get some added AOSP apps and removed bloatware. CM development is really difficult as some devs already bricked their phones.
I personally wouldn't buy it again.
It's a quite decent phone but nothing special imo.

I know they're just soft-mods, but people say they're faster than official ROMs, because they contain some tweaks.
Yes, thats right. If you have some knowledge you could also tweak the stock ROM yourself as you like it. (Apart from things like CWM recovery etc.)
If you don't need all those Samsung bloatware then you could flash one of the ROMs you like.

Thank you all for your opinions! I had a very positive experience with one of your ROMs, so I think I will go for BroodROM.

That way you can overclock as you wish with the "no frills cpu control" app and set governors + i/o scheduler.
At least thats what i have on my SGS+ and i'm very happy with it

Hi Senior Member xCi, this is my first Time, and i think i should be needing a help. i have already bought my samsung sgs+ a couple of weeks ago. and after that i've playin games , browsing , used my phoneetc. i've seen that sgs+ still slow on cpu, gpu and when i play hd games its getting hot in a 30 minutes after. but not like the old samsung galaxy s i9000 which is very slow and very hot when i play games like nfs shift. so i figured out that i wanted to upgrade/update it but there's no officially released update for sgs+ in my software update (Over In The Air) and in kies. but didnt do something and after that i've been thinking and began searching xda developers. and saw many development were created such as the tweaks (awesome), custom roms ( like Cranium Rc9 I've Watched It on Youtube/ BroodRom Here) i was really inspired and been thinking if i can do it alone (im so scared besides this my first time) so i can update my phone into more poweful tweaks like cranium rc9 or BroodRom and other tweaks mods for my sgs+. im starting and im a begginer and i really need help, sorry if im being noob or kinda stupid (〒︿〒) i was really confused when i was reading this post by Artem Russakovskii http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...d-phone-with-rom-manager-full-backup-restore/ he says that other customs roms have different installing procedure. can i apply sakindia's cranium rc9 following the steps of Artem. i am currently using primeHD v8.0 custom rom and i am on STOCK kernel..
i want to make my x8 more fast like while scrolling or app open/close etc.. , with better gaming, and more better battery life.
i have the following enhancements in my mind... i have read enough of reviews but seriously i wanted to collect them at one thread and ask about opinions..
1. primeHD v8.0
2. oc at like 710Mhz
3. v6 supercharger
4. chainfire3d with powervr plugin
5. smartass v2 cpu governor
now i came to a personal conclusion that the above 5 are certainly good and will definitely boost performance [i havent tried any of them yet except the first one obviously]
and then i see some other threads or tweaks/mods like

2. e15 optimiser [i read t reviews.. and unfortunately it doesnt seem well]
3. jimdem droid tweak.. [this has particularly good reviews.. please take this into consideration]
now i have the following questions:

2. if i install all 5 mentioned, will there be bugs, forceclose, or any problem like rebooting .. if used TOGETHER? [exclude the overclock while answering this, as i know it depends on the hardware.. so..]
3. if anyone has installed or tested all of them please give a reply.. based on performance with games and at the same time improved battery life and day-to-day multitasking.
4. i mentioned 2 other tweaks too.. do i need them if i already installed the v6 supercharger?
5. does jimdemdroid tweak does any better thing at primehd v8.0 for PERFORMANCE and issues??
6. i know these scripts and mods involve libraries which at the system level do therir work.. how.. i dont know.. i a noob.. but anyway.. please provide a concise list of the things which are significantly good and will seriously yield!
if any better mod/tweak is available, please do share.. and remember i am on STOCK kernel with a custom rom!

Use Crazy home launcher, it has few features, but its the BEST for speed

2.oc not more than 700-higher oc not make big diff except eat ur batt.
3.play with others cymod performance setting for best result
4.use smartassv2-balancing between batt life and performance
5.use RAM manager pro instead superchager for easy switch RAM requirement
6.use swap for more RAM
7.turn off unused funtions for more batt life only on when i need it.
8.use Titanium backup to freeze or uninstall any system apk that me dont use

Its up to you man,
1.both of it is RAM manager but u cant install both in 1 time.I cant tell which one is good but the easy and safe one is RAM manager PRO.
2.Chainfire basically is Graphic card emulator to run games for other card.also its can reduce games quality to minimize RAM usage.so its nothing to do to boost up ur performance.use it only if u want to play certain games
3.Its Cyanogenmod setting like cpu setting,compcache RAM usage,WM head size,etc options.
in my opinion these setting is the best:
a)in cpu setting,use smartassv2 governor & set cpu below700
b)Comp RAM=26%
c)use JIT,Eneble surface,use 16bit,allow purging,lock home=ON
d)VM heap size=32
options may vary for diff.ROMS by default setting but u always can check for fully options by make shortcut for cyanogenmod setting.
long press on homescreen>shortcuts>cyanogenmod settings>Performance settings.
4.yes,some ppl says its no use to swap on stock kernel but if u on costum,believe me,its worth it

thanks a lot.. i got all my answers.. um.. actually i got a prob here... i was trying the v6 supercharger.. but i couldnt install it .. it said i had crappy version of busybox.. so i went to android market.. got busybox installer 7.9.2 [latest] and installed it... which while installing said that it couldnt correctly be installed as some old version of busybox was hindering it.. and it said to remove any version of the previous busybox... after that.. i anyway.. tried to run the v6 script through Terminal emulator.. NOTHING HAPENNED!!.. i exited terminal.. did a reboot.. what i get is a soft brick!!.. i was on primehd rom and stock kernel!
edit: i got the prob.. i used 1.20 version of busybox.. which bricked my phone.. any way i have installed ram manager pro now... and am not suffering from any problem now.. thanks !
and 1 more thing.. i couldnt find the comp ram settings anywhere.. others i have done..

sometimes dev will set it to 26% by default & remove the option to prevent somebody mess up with it.not sure about primeHD.use search button to have some answer.If u couldnt find a satisfaction answer,u always can open new thread maybe some advance users or dev himself can confirm it.

thanks.. i installed the rom manager pr.. it works like a charm... but another prob arose.. i tried to do smartass v2 governor module via terminal.. with the steps written as to how to do it... it gets incorporate in the cpu settings also.. but only for sometime.. ie .. when i restart my phone.. the smartass governor is deleted.. i have to again and again do that.. i don know if ram manager is hindering with it... i have set it to balance!.. any solution??..

Well, if you don't care about the camera, you can use one of Diablo's performance kernels (some are very experimental, though) - that would give you somewhat more RAM, for now you can overclock it up to 1881,600 Mhz, you can also set CPU governor to performance (watch out, you can melt your phone . From my observations, GB and JB roms (in general) are much less laggy than the ICS ones when it comes to games, IMHO there are few JB roms that are enough for daily use, just search the ones with some GPU tweaks implemented. For now, you can't get much more than this.

Now i have CM10 and devils karnel but game like is vice city does even not start. I have black screen. Before i have some Gamerz Rom and there i was smooth playing Gta but screen was flashing so i decide to search other roms.
About overlocking. If i overlock cpu in devils manager or anyelse similar program my phone crash. The only program which i sucessfull OC my phone was Tegrak.
Strange, when flashing rom and kernel, did you do a full wipe / factory reset, wipe cache / dalvik, fix permissions etc.? If not, try it. You can also have some hardware issue - every phone is a bit different, maybe yours can't handle some lower voltages / higher freq. that's why it crashes, but it's very strange that Tegrak can OC it without problems, and other apps can't.
Anyway, do a full wipe, relfash rom and kernel step by step, it should help.

It's not all about rom and kernel. Try latest LazerDroid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1978061 I'm sure it'll make a difference. All those tweaks have huge impact on gaming performance.

A (not so tech-y) friend of mine has a Samsung galaxy ace but is complaining about the speed of the device. I want to help him by installing a custom rom on the device. If been googling different roms but for the life of me i cant figure out which ones are stable and good and wich ones are amateuristic.
I was hoping one of you fine gentlemen could point me in the right direction.
These are the 'requirements'
- Optimized internal storage for installing apps (stock android?)
- As little bloatware as possible (owner only uses whatsapp/browser and facebook etc. He has no need for equilizers and whatnot)
- Fast and smooth (this is most important, android version doenst really matter. Which ever one is fastest)
- Stable/ no bugs. The owner of the device is not tech savvy so i dont want him to have to kill apps and deal with bugs etc.
- preferably built in kernel/overclocking so i dont have to do it myself
Any help will be much appreciated!

The stock Desire C with 600MHZ is too slow to run Carmageddon without stutters. I was interested in trying different kernels/roms at a higher frequency to see performance of this game.
But Carmeggedon doesn't work in various roms.
I have tried CM4.1.2 build 3 [Stable] by cuteprince and the revolution mod v3.3 by Russel.
The CM-based rom starts carmageddon, but I get a black screen after the intro video. I have found a forum post about this, and there it was told it can't work.
In Revolution I get the error: "Download failed because the resources could not be found"
What can I do to fix this error? Or what ROM should I try?

When I use your rom and I go to google play to download Carma Free. (the 1 level demo of Carmageddon)
I get the message: your device is not compatible.
I can't even download Carmageddon from the store with your rom.

You should now try various ROMs by reading their description, i.e which one suits you...
Also, you may overclock the roms you use by flashing a kernel like N.O.P.E or Prometheus...
Just check whether which ROM enables you to play carmageddon and enjoy and make sure you press thanks!
