Google Translate FTW. I really hope this phone gets unlocked soon. I'm planning on picking this up this weekend or next week. Price is too good to pass up on such a high end spec'd device.

Thanks OP for the info, but if the Google translation was remotely accurate, I didn't see anything that suggest LG has any plans to unlock it.
The LG representative only said that it's a new model and she assumes that some more updates will come. If I am not much mistaken she even said that she doesn't even know what a bootloader is.
In any case what were the OP doing talking to a woman about tech stuff?
j/k
Let's hope that LG will come clean with their updates.

Sonds to me more that she said "Update will come, don't know when, and no information about unlocked bootloader". I wouldn't be surprised if the local support people don't know anything about any update plans. It has always been like this with LG, tell nobody and suddenly it's there. Only chance might be that more support people file the user's wishes to LG and some intelligent people there get it done.

I think that the only way to get **** done is to contact Korean lg support.

Samsung has wave phones that have the worst supporting and these wave phones were distributing in Korea. There are users also from Korea for wave phones, but samsung never mind with this phones and users also.
I make sure that the boot-loader will be unlocked for LG O4X , but we need a little bit time to wait and contact LG Developers
Best regards,

I've read the transcript in Dutch and I've got the same feeling, so it's not the translation. It sounds like a "don't call us, we call you".

Were is Gingerbread ?

Now i no this may have been covered in other posts But !
I no there versions of 2.3.3 kicking around but i look after a company's 15 mobile phones and they only update via kies.
I no in the UK the roll out has been pulled, and service centres have been told not to put the firmware on, i also no that Android (Google) Told Samsung to stop the update this was weeks ago all my contacts have been told to say nothing
All the new stuff coming out eg Google talk the company i'm looking after they want but i'm not putting firmware on that is not meant for the phone.
The phone is very capable to run 2.3.4 as the phone is the same spec as the Nexus S, They have already asked if they should of got this phone.
I to have had doubts as to weather i should of got this phone, and gone for a Nexus S
Any one no what is going on with Samsung and android will XEU customers get any form of Gingerbread?????
If you "no" that the subject has been covered in lots of other threads, why the need to post this?
The info is on here time and time again. "no" one "no's" any more than you can see.
lol
And yes, I am sure obliquely threatening that Samsung will use 15 customers on a website that is not owned, operated or likely even closely watched by Samsung, will spur Samsung to drop their stalling and release Gingerbread before the version is ready.
I also think that that readers without English as their first language might have difficulty in reading the OP. lol.
lol!
I didnt want to be as blunt as that

latest i heard was no update for SGS .
Fact or Fiction no idea .
Samsung know XDA dont .

Online petition

Hello everyone,
I just made an online petition to obtain ICS for our device. I know someone can say we only want last release of an operating system and such. In my opinion, that's false. We want something we paid for. I gave LG my trust and they disappointed me. Please, sign the petition, if you share my thoughts, or at least give it a read.

Mainly for two reasons, mate:
- I have many friends with LG2x and they can't flash, for a million of reasons, they are afraid of bricks, afraid of not finiding confortable with custom roms, bugs, etc... and I, as CM user, think that we should all get updates, for the money we spent in the phone and the disappointing feeling. We use CM, but it's bad LG just discontinued her flagship phone.
- It's not only Italy's problem: if it were just Italy, I would have worked on other releases and made it available as custom rom, as every other person on this forum would do, but it's a common problem, and I thought we need a common solution.
Thanks for your reply, if I sounded rude, please forgive me, it's only difficult to explain such things in a foreign language.

no, its fine. I did sign the petition before replying to the thread. The consumer protection agency one was just a suggestion. I am in Maldives and we dont have an LG office/branch here, therefor we cannot do anything against them.
lets first see we can get gingerbread
they promise it on the (netherlands-belgium) website
they say "always updated to the latest version of android with one click on the button"

For what I could understand, smaller offices, like italians just works as test units, so it would be a waste of time to keep in touch with them...

nice try, but no one will give a f*-ck about it !
as for other android phones : you get the version installed & 1 update ...
so ... froyo + GB , that´s it. then our phone is outdated.
companies want to make money & sell new phones, so that´s their policy ...
i can sign your petition if you like, but it will change nothing ...
sorry, but that´s the truth
but at least we have official CM support, so when ICS SDK is available, we will get it from this source
Even the gb leaks are based on froyo kernels. Face it we are never going to get gingerbread let alone ICS because LG simply can't do it. (I blame nvidia aswell btw but thats a whole different story)

Lg gingerbread rom is a fake

Hi all
i think lg gingerbread 20L rom is a fake .And here is why
1: rumour of new rom for today come from facebook italia
2:first and only new rom posted today is italian .hmm
3:same version as leaked italian rom posted since many months
4:same kernel too
5:same baseband too
6:no new lg widgets or new launcher or whatever
7:Lg chat say they dont know when gb rom will be release but surely before the end of year
So i think this rom is a fake . And if its really a fake ,poster should be banned from xda !!!
Troll much? The update is available via the LG Update Tool for Italian phones. Are you saying LG is faking their own updates?
Ok so have you a screenshot to prove that ?
You do realize that paul, one of the main android devs for this phone, creator of modaco roms, downloaded it and confirmed it right?

Maybe the community pressure made LG release a fake to calm down everyone while they are still working on the real update... coming from LG, expect anything.
Sad.
yeah definately a fake on the start up screen they have spelt 'LG' wrong

So far from the truth padawan, in reality the entire lg corporation is a big fake, it doesn't exist at all, it is simply our governments commercializing this fake brand, to fool us into its existence.

No I was serious, you are just too close minded to realize.
Really though, I'm very dissatisfied with lg since I bought the o2x, but releasing a fake version without announcing it on an italian site to satisfy a forum that makes maybe 0.000000000001% of it's users? Do you really think they would bother wasting time to do that?
Maybe i did not flashed the same so
cause i have no new weather widgets .same homescreen
In fact. all same as froyo
I am so sorry!! BUT I need to confess
I belive LG is only a product of my imagination. And the XDA-Devs are probably not real either.
I am so sorry... so please stop writing, you are all not real
You did not get my point. The is no real improvement over the old Froyo, no kernel and baseband update, unless you think O2x already maxed out its potential.
If you are happy with this, good for you, and of course, better for LG... and stop trying to act funny, it's not working.

This thread is top1 this day.

the kernel of GB update, is same 2.6.32.9 i think it's already clear since we get the GB leak. so v20L can't be told fake
fake or not fake. its easy to check! can some one post a video with updated phone using front facing camera on skype. and thats it! but front facing camera not back!
The update is not a fake, you can easily check in the LGMobile Update software by changing your country to Italy.
I thought he mean if it's really an update since there is no kernel and baseband change.

Talk to LG about bootloader?

im so sad that the Optimus 4x's bootloader is the only thing stopping us from having jellybean roms on it. i bet the phone would bee awsome with it. I know it probably wount help at all, but i sent a e-mail to LG, saying how we LG owners are sad because of the bootloader and that they should give us a method to unlock it!There must be a genius developer who can crack it?

This is wat LG had to say:
Hey Tony,
Thank you for your inquiry.
It would appear an update to this , but unfortunately we can not provide a method to open the bootloader so I appreciate your patience and would like to announce that I have sent request to our product specialists so that you will be one of the first to get the information when it becomes available.
not quite helping

Guys that's wrong LG will never ever reply answer for that question, not just lg anyone will not reply to that question, who locked there bootloader. Do not blame them, unlocking bootloader is overriding there copy rights. Ofc if you are a executive in Lg service center you will for sure get reply.

to you
Unlocked boot loader will come in time for sure
The only thing I'm wanting from it is to enable over clocking
With so many free apps out there that enable us to un install bloat ware as well as have our pick of launchers and massive choice of customization,
what can be done with unlocked boot loader compared to locked boot loader apart from over clocking ?

[Q] G Flex Marshmallow? (Link)

This is a crap answer. This is a discussion about a possible update that a lot of people are interested in. If you don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation then please kindly shut it. That being said, I have only seen Marshmallow updates planned for the G Flex 2 and other handsets. Here is a link:
http://en.yibada.com/articles/76434...g-g-stylo-on-at-t-sprint-t-mobile-verizon.htm
Basically it doesn't look good for this awesome phone. Personally I will never buy another LG handset again.
