I'm looking for a way to attach the Nexus 7 to my fridge or to my kitchen wall, to be used with cooking apps, kitchen timers, etc, without taking up precious counter space.
I found a product called Hedgie:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEDGIE-Univ...905?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43b2aaadd9
But $17 for a piece of Velcro seems exaggerated. Anyone know of a better solution?
Get the cheapest TPU case you can buy and attach adessive velcro on the back and on the fridge. Easy as pie.
Or... you can buy a sheet of magnet plastic and glue it to the case and then you don't have to glue anything to your fridge.
I agree with the above post. I always buy a few tpu cases to use for special projects around the house. One word of advice though... Before you adhere a magnet to the Nexus 7 make sure you know where the auto off-on feature is located. If you accidentally glue a magnet under it it will effect you nexus 7 turning on and off.

If you have a glass splashback, you could use a car mount and attach it to the glass. Just tried this with my exomount and Galaxy Nexus, assume it would work the same with the N7.

That should work well on the undersides of cupboards and large enough tiles too, depending their surface. I'd say a car mount would the best idea.

If you have an old 20GB hard drive lying around, the magnets in the old 3.5" drives are really strong.
You might want to try what I did with my phone, to attach it to the bottom of my monitor when I'm at my desk.
Take the magnet and the piece of metal that it's attached to and bluetack this to your fridge. Then cut the bottom flat piece out of a tin can and bluetack this to the inside of the Nexus's back cover (I am guessing that there is a suitable flat area).
If you want it attached for the long term than use something else more permanent than bluetack on the fridge.
OP - I am also looking to wall-mount my Nexus 7.
So far, the best options I have seen are:
1) TPU Case with PadTab (Link to PadTab HERE)
2) Wall-Mounted Tablet Dock (link HERE).
Did you already decide how to mount your N7?
Kind of a dead thread, but if anyone else is looking for a wall mounting idea, I'm looking at a couple of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z88WSK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A29AY3J0MGBUKJ

I got 2 sets of these when they first came out on some special intro deal and paid $20 delivered. For what they are, they work well enough. Just realize that is simply a pair of cheap plastic holders you glue to whatever surface you want. You only get 1 orientation and size depending on placement. Installing them level and at the correct width is up to the installer
The pad tab from the previous post to your stuck on a TPU case would give more options albeit at about twice the cost, 15 vs 20 + 8 (or more) for TPU case.

lmao. I use HDD magnets too. Guys are crazy strong and thin = perfect. I used 2 for a LCD drawing note clip board thing and it almost pulls the fridge over (not quite but you know what I mean).
For the Nexus, I would use 1. Glue it to a TPU case and done.
This probably the one you are looking for, it's a specific kitchen mount for Nexus 7, i got it on Independence Day, it's doing 20% discount promo again now, good time to get one.

Brand new Portenzo Hardback case. This was just released and is currently on sale for 2 days only @ $19.95! Watch the video for a demo of the super stick grip tape.
I'm still a very happy Portenzo BookCase customer. their quality and customer service is outstanding!

It's nice but there's no way to make this stand right?
Sounds right. No stand.
Looks a lot like the Dodo Case to me.
Ordered one. All black with a red elastic strap. Thanks!

It does, but the Dodo is way more expensive and only available in 4 colors. Portenzo has a better reputation, less expensive and way more colors to chose from. Looks like I am buying another Portenzo today!
I will post pics when I get it.
Was liking it until I saw the adhesive approach to securing the device. Like everything else about it - moleskine type design, quality materials.
Anyone have any experience with the sticky pads?
Do they leave any residue if you remove your device?
I'm assuming they are a one time use as well?

If it's anything like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008A1XN28/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Then the "sticky" is extremely sticky!
Enough so that when I tried to remove the N7, the back cover came off the tablet!
I don't mean that in some awful "it broke!" way...it's just that the adhesive is stronger than the tablet's back cover retainers.
So if you were scared to pry open your N7 with a screwdriver...this is an alternate way to open it.
But if you're careful and go slow, the tablet comes off and there is no residue.
The adhesive can be wiped down with water and when it dries, it's good to go!
I tested the case on my N7, then put my Galaxy Tab 2 7" in it, then back to the N7.
Since the Portenzo costs more than twice as much...I'd hope their adhesive is just as good if not better to work with than the $9 case!
Ordered mine yesterday in firetruck red! Pretty excited about this. I was looking for something classy but with thin profile so Bookcase came close but this hardbook was a better fit for my needs.
Does anyone now how long it takes for them to ship? Happy Friday all
I wonder how the quality compares to the dodocase.

I have the casemate tuxedo for the kindle fire using the sticky pad. It's re-usable and does not leave a residue. I sent my first kindle back and got a replacement from Amazon, no issues re-applying the pad on the replacement, just as sticky as the first time.
cant make it stand though, so a big nono for me
was going to wait till i got home to order but byt he time i did the price was back up to 39.99 :crying:
Looks like a good alternative to the Dodocase! I managed to place an order before the sale ended too. At $19.99, it was too good of a deal to pass up.

I'm a firm believer in Ram Mounts. You'll spend about $60 for it, but it's worth every penny. They're modular, more durable, more stable, and better designed than anything else I've ever tried. They're rock solid at 180mph, or when running 9 second quarters at the strip.

ExoMount Tablet Mount looks interesting...
I'm disappointed ProClip hasn't come out with a mount for the N10. They have one for the Nexus 7. They have one for the Note 10.1. But not the N10. I already have it for my Note 2, and because they have a 2-part solution, it'd be easy to just buy the device-specific holder from them and swap it out.
recommend TFY headrest mount, I bought it on Amazon and had checked it's website wanpool,a professional Tablet Mounts seller, with wide various designs for most models, very powful

Bought one on wanpool , the case perfectly fits with proper cut outs, leather is soft and feels great. You can attach the case to the headrest or undo your tablet with a little strengh, changing the view angle at your will, very convenient.

So I've been looking at car mounts and the Exogear is the one I like, but I find it a bit expensive. I found plenty of replicas on Ebay such as:
Cheapest I found
Another cheap one.
Even there are differences between the replicas - the suction pad is different between these 2.
So do you think these are good enough? Comparable suction? Durable enough, so they don't break within a month?
What do you think?

So I ordered THIS one and used it on a 60 miles trip today.
For its price I am very pleased with it. It holds the phone securely and while it's a little shaky on a bumpy road I don't think that it will fall off the window.
I've tried to put it on different surfaces, but it will only stay on surfaces that are completely smooth. My dashboard wasn't, so it didn't attach well to it. Glass - no problem. It is very secure. Polished wooden furniture - no problem too.

Or you can bite the bullet and pay ~$70 and get the best mount out there. ProClip
I got an exomount 1 off ebay
It's definitely one if the easiest mounts to insert and remove the phone.
Its great that I can use it with a case
My only complaint is it is a quite shaky and also the phone moves a little in the mount due to the narrow width of the clamp
I wouldn't trust a cheap holder to hold my expensive phone...
The iOttie mount is solid and WILL attach to irregular surfaces, like a textured dashboard. Mine came in today, and it is very sturdy, haven't got a chance to use it yet. Other folks here have confirmed that it sticks to dashboards with no problem, even if they aren't smooth.
Is it shaky because of the spring in the clamp maybe not song enough? Or something else

It bounces because the arm from base to ball joint is plastic and quite skinny so it's not real solid.

Despite what they said on the web store, it does not fit my note 2, so I get my money back, no worry about that. But does anybody know of an alternative that will fit the note 2? I specifically want an air vent solution, so others will not do.

Isn't the phone a bit heavy for venting? Any vent mounts I've ever used cause the vent to roll down and put the phone at an awkward and unusable angle.

No need to re-invent the wheel I have been using for years Arkon Mega Grip mount and been using it for the last year with my Note 2 (also Slim Grip Ultra works great, check it out in my review, in my signature link below).. It also comes with a very sturdy air vent mount. Though I don't use it in air vent, sounds like it's exactly what you are looking for: http://arkon.com/megagrip/megagrip-windshield-vent-mount.html
What's totally cool with it, it has universal ball-joint mount so you can use it with other mounts as well.
IOTTIE! it's 10, better than any other mount and it will hold many other phones too. It's universal but sold as for the note II and s4. It'll fit most big phones.
You can stick it anywhere and it won't fall, you can also rotate it completely in any direction you want.
It's not vent mounted, but why do you want that? Theres a million better places for it.

iOttie is good, but doesn't work well at all with Zerolemon battery. Trust me, I tested and reviewed them all (check out my signature link). Slim Grip Ultra is the only universal that fits everything up to Note 2/3 and 7"/8" tablets and it will hold a heavier phone even with ZL battery.
