Galaxy note worth it? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Now that the note II has been announced, is it worth it to get the note 1? I can buy the unlocked note for 250 dollars. Thanks.

I started of course with the original nokia flip phone... then had the original.motorola razr. Then had tmobile sidekick..then had 3 iPhones.
This is the best phone I ever have used. I don't touch my computer anymore. The screen size allows that. I will not be upgrading to the note 2...

If you're getting the note 1 because it's cheap, I would go for it.
It really is a great phone.
But if you just want the latest and greatest and money is not a problem, I would suggest the note 2.

$250 is cheap!!! I just bought another one for $375. Now I got blue and white to exchange

Yes, go for it, you wont regret it. I got mine a month ago for 300 eur used 2 weeks - guy found it to big for him and I love it! Upgrade to note 2 is not real option as it is not much better in real life use - leave benchmarks aside.

just make sure if u getting it cheap .. its not a phone that has been revived from a brick or something.. check the storage capacity thoroughly

This is a fantastic phone! You won't regret it. I on the other hand am going for the Note II. I have had this Note since December, and I'm ready for a change Hopefully by the end of this month or the beginning of next month I'll be able to get it! Amazon.de, and .es aren't ready to ship yet .

Splash out on the Note II. You will not regret it... its absolutely brilliant...

Anyone returning?

After hearing today that the galaxy gear 2 will be released in March/April, I was thinking of returning my original gear... I got it as a gift for Christmas and have until Jan 15th to return it. I have a feeling the next one will be a lot better and don't want to be stuck with one that I can't sell for half the retail in March... Anyone have an opinion on this or thinking the same way? Just curious... Thanks.
I would not count on the next-generation coming out that quickly. Watch the CES news this week and you will see that Samsung did not announce anything, and if it is only 2 to 3 months away, why wouldn't they have?

If I had the receipt, I would return it! I got it for xmas from my parents. I'm almost certain they paid the full $300 price too. I'm not going to ask my parents to return, or exchange it though. I believe it's the thought that counts when it comes to gifts. My parents hit a home run when it came to picking this out for me. Everyone says "That watch is definitely me" because of my passion for technology and android. But in my opinion this device isn't worth the money spent on it now. I'm not going to rant negative comments about it. But thing about this. The price has drastically dropped since it was just released last year. Imagine how much it will drop when the next version comes out in a couple of months! This thing won't be worth a darn.

It was announced today by a high samsung executive. Google it. It's all over the internet. They said that the s5 and gear 2 would be announced and released like the s4 was last year. The s4 wasn't released at the CES last year either... that's how they roll with the s series.

Agree. I got it from my wife. She couldn't care less. Lol. I think I'll be returning it tomorrow and waiting for the next one. Thanks for your opionion.

I got mine for $150 so I can't complain. If the new one comes out, I'll definitely sell it and get the newer version. Although I am extremely content with this.
absolutely no need to return it. we are months away from the potential release and we don't know any details yet. when it's out i'll see the differences and then decide if it's worth upgrade. somehow i have a feeling that they will remove the camera this time..
I know once the new one comes out and the price for the original drops I'll actually buy it. I've wanted one to go with seanzscreams sky note air n3 rom for the note 2 for a few now but I'm not spending 250-300 on a watch with limited functionality and support. Once it is in the 150-200 range then it'll be worth it for a lot of people.
Did you thank your Developer today?
I have until the 17th to return mine and I think I will. After reading that the gg2 will have lots of extra features and be slimmed down its a no brainer for me.

Not planning on it. Nothing wrong with my Gear so far, and I keep saying that if my G1 still worked I'd still be using it.
Keeping mine also. With null and my note 2 on n3bula I see no reason to return. Just like I'm passing on the note 3. Maybe I'll jump at third generation and note 4. But I look at it this way. There's always going to be the next hot toy. One after another. With all the devs and their amazing work I'm very content to skip a generation. ..

I for one would be HIGHLY pissed off if Sammy came out with a Gear 2 without fulling developing the Gear 1. The Gear at it present state is nothing more than a beta product needing a lot of something else. If this is all it's going to be, I'm gonna be disappointed.
i bought it 2-3 weeks ago and have 30 days to return it. i am going to keep it. it is more than i expected from Round 1 and with NULL and now the Add On Mod i feel it was worth the $300. heck a cheap Fossil costs more than $100 just to tell you the time.
i also would LOVE for the Gear 2 to be released next month or July or asap. if its better i will buy it and sell the Gear 1.
i do not and will not get upset about buying anything electronic for like $300 and then a newer model comes out. its pointless anger and is going to happen whether i like it or not.
bring on G2
Return it.
Sit and wait.
Maybe the gear 2 is available in april.
Then sit and wait until August because it will maybe released a gear 2s.
Then wait 3-4 months for the gear 3.
Have fun waiting for everything fun in life.
Seriously. If you got one and thinking of returning it just to wait for the next generation then I think the gear 2 want live up to your expectations regarding new features.
But we Norwegians don't wait for next version because it dont kost more than filling up the car with gas 2 times.
We change phones very often, but I have to say that there isn't much difference to day when you're using 3rd party launchers and apps.
It's like getting the old phone in slightly different case with little more speed.
The only difference in new phones is that some 3rd party features are adapted into standard, but you already had it on the old phone.
The price in Norway are 390 dollar.
Maybe you can sell it here.

I just may keep mine.
It's a great device. I could see them putting in some kind of a heart monitor, or GPS, maybe a front facing camera? But I don't think you're going to get to radical with it. I'm not sure that they will put in wifi, that will chew up too much battery.
My biggest gripe with this is that it's somewhat heavy, and by the end of the day I do get a little numbness with it on the inside my wrist. Getting something that's a little later would definitely improved comfort.
So my last comment on this is that this is about evolutionary, or revolutionary. And I think the gear 1 is revolutionary! Apple probably going to put out the same crap with the same functionality and charge $500 for it. Gear2 will be evolutionary, with little improvements. Not major. Bigger Change will come in a year or two years, just my 2 cents.

Ebay selling for $199

Good or bad? Probably means the GG 2 is coming soon. Could get some more devs to jump in here also.
That's a good deal yo.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I think because Samsung dropped the price in India to $250. Even best buy has it at $250 now. I'm waiting for it to hit $200 from a regular store before I jump in.
I bought 2 at that price in December from eBay. I don't regret it at all.
I know myself, if I didn't have one already, i would definitely bite on that one. I mean, that kinda kills my resale value although i only paid $240. My other thought is that every time I see a decent size price drop on Galaxy products, it's because the next version is coming out soon.
I went to Craigslist and got mine for 190. But I also made sure it connected and asked the guy if he rooted it and flashed it. He told me it was stock and he had to Google root and flash so I knew it was a good buy!!! And I was gonna wait for the next generation also but these thoughts came to mind. 1 how much will the Gear 2 cost if the Gear was 300 (Sales werent great but good enough to make a gear2) 2. I don't wear watches so trying one out wouldn't hurt (forget I'm wearing it sometimes) 3. After seeing people flash it updates already the Gear will be just as good as the Gear 2 except for hardware. Unless they add a sim chip like the omate then I'd swoop it oh and front facing camera so I can video chat. Sorry for the long post.

I have stopped buying phones from Carphone warehouse becuase all the previous i bought from them are always faulty in few months.
Anyway I'm glad i bought the Nexus 5 from Google play.
I bought one today to replace my launch day handset that I managed to drop and shatter the screen on last night, man alive the screen is warm, my original N5 screen looks ultra white next to it and I thought that screen was warm

Thanks much, mate! This cleared things up! Sorry I'm such a terrible lurker
Bought the nexus 5 yesterday at Carphone Warehouse for £240
If anyone reads this and is on the fence about buying the nexus, go for it!!
Ive only used Samsung Galaxy ( an SII and a Note ) for the past few years and before that an iPhone4.
Going from iOS to android was fantastic in itself.
going from the Note to the Nexus 5 - simply jaw dropping.
Quite how they have managed to get such a good device for £300 let alone £240 is amazing.
( done a side by side with the iPhone 5s )
I guess the one and only real downside is the memory at 16gb.
spec wise I cannot get over this phone!
Think I have found my new mobile device home!

[Q] Confused with Samsung galaxy Note N7000

Hi guys,
I am struck with something. Can someone help me in deciding what to do.
I actually want to purchase Note 1 (N7000) but its discontinued by samsung so its not available in the market anywhere but on ebay and some others sites peoples are selling new Note1.
But I doubt that they are either refurbished or first copy of the note.
On asking the seller on ebay, he said that these are new original cell phones which are discontinued in India but are running in Indonesia so they import it from there. He also said that the phone will connect with samsung kies. so I am confused what to do whether i should buy the cell phone or I should go with some other cell phone.
Please help me I am really confused.
Thanks

Yes I agree with you but I want to go with Note 1 only for now. Please suggest if I can rely on that imported version of Note 1
So let's put this into perspective, you want to buy n7000 that's 2.5 years old with no warranty and very likely no future release of firmware update from samsung? I'm guessing the price must be really good that it tempted you to even taking your time asking about it here.
So if you still considering it; Ask if they can provide you with the firmware version.. At least with that you can identify which part of the world was it meant for.
I'll be honest here, you're basically taking a leap of faith.
For me, if I wanted an old phone... I would consider buying it second hand and then go on eBay to get a new housing replacement and a battery just so it looks and feel new.

I like to keep my Note 7 at least until the Galaxy 8 releases if possible but I hear T-Mobile is blocking Note 7s in New Zealand and I don't see the stopping there if their plan works out. I like to hold out for the Note 8. According to some business predictions Samsung will blow our pants off in order to make up for all the trouble and stress they caused us all.

Unfortunately yes but I already paid half because of some problems I had with the preorder before release day. Even if I returned it I wouldn't get all my money back since I used a credit card and already made some payments from the jump.

I don't know about the note 7 v1 but they are allowing you to hold on the the loaner for only 2 months . In my case an s7 edge. They said if I don't turn it in within the 2 months I will be charged for it. I can return the phone to any store.

Who's they? I still have my V2 and not planning on turning it in until at least the S8 comes out. But I wouldn't mind waiting until the Note 8 lol. I honestly think half of those burning phones were bogus claims.

Nobody told me that I had to return loaner in two months. It was a mess then so I was told initially no timeline for that, though that was before Note V2.
I am charged for both phones' EIP, though I had a monthly credit for loaner EIP. Does anyone with Note 7 only have monthly credit for EIP? Or were you charged for EIP monthly at all?
Thanks
