[Q] Odin 1.85 falshing fail - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear all,
I found a new firmware on sammobile site and thought to upgrade my Galaxy note from:
N7000JPLPD_N7000OJPLP7_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar.md5
to:
N7000JPLR8_N7000OJPLR8_N7000XXLRK_HOME.tar.md5
(Both of them for Pakistan)
First I used Odin 1.83 to flash but after about 20% the Odin turned red indicating 'Fail'
Then I searched the web and (I know it's my fault) somewhere downloaded Odin 1.85, checked all the fields on Odin, like "Re Partition- Autoboot-F reset time"
I check them all and then another mistake.... used the same MD5 file in all 3 'PDA, PHONE, CSC" and flashed again.
And also used the PIT file which was in the Odin 1.85's folder.
Now I can enter the download mode but if I try to flash the new ROM, it goes upto 20% and says something like this:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> N7000JPLR8_N7000OJPLR8_N7000XXLRK_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..

Hi friend just try flashing to GB and then to any other.
Use company cable for data transfer, try with another usb port and i hope it must get cleared.
Press THANKS if it helped you

Thank you my friend, but could you guide me where to find GB? And what GB actually is? The older 2.3.6 Ginger bread?

GB actually is the older 2.3.6 Ginger
you find GB in sammobile site

If it's failing at factory.fs then you could be in longer term trouble, let us know.

dude... try this,,
just pull out the battery. wait for 10 secs.. reinsert. go back to download mode.. use odin 1.85 and just select the tar.md5 fine in pda section.. donot check repartion.. dont use pit file.
PS: if odin is stuck once.. u cannot continue from there.. the phone needs a reboot for another try

I read somewhere saying that flashing pit file must be accompanied by bootloader or your device might brick.

Error while updating firmware

Hello,
While using Sygic navigation dad's galaxy ace (S5830i) got frozen, I restarted it by pushing the power button for a few seconds, but the phone didn't start up, just showing the samsung logo animation again and again... i tried to use recovery mode but it says it "failed to mount /data (invailed agrument).
So I thought i reinstall the original software, that I found on sammobile.com, but while I was installing it, some kind of error happened:

Hi there. How's the problem? I also got the same problem, flashing a firmware from sammobile and failing to flash it even if I use the .pit file i found on other threads. But you still have a chance. Download the Pda.tarhere and place it in the PDa section. do not use any pit file. it worked for me, I soft bricked my s5830i several times already and the PDA.tar works like a charm. I got it from here thanks to ickyyy

S5830i only accepts a three file odin installation method. The .PDA file mentioned in the second post is also valid, but its an older firmware for s5830i. Please checkout this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822109 to install latest firmware downloaded and made compatible for odin. Details are in the thread. I hope this helps and if it does don't forget the thank button

Did you select the firmware .tar file in odin PDA tab only?
This sometimes happens due to bad download file, try flashing some other firmware, preferably GB so that you can wipe if required.
search google with 'Receive Response form LOKE" and you will find lot of people having same issue and most of them able to resolve by flashing different firmware.

Yes, its completely wrong, you should select single firmware .tar in PDA tab only. Try again by rebooting your phone and check if you have kies running, if so close it completely.
SUGGESTION- Do not flash ICS stock rom now, I am not sure what has been messed up by flashing this using phone tab (ICS phone files on GB base, not sure), best is flash stock GB firmware first, then wipe in stock recovery and flash ICS.

[Q] Root after unroot with Kies?

I've come across various other threads concerning this topic with other devices, but none are exactly like my issue.
I rooted originally with Odin and CF autoroot with no issues. Now me being the noob that I am, I un-rooted with Kies to check for any updates. The process went fine, however my device status still says "custom" and I'm unable to re-root using the same method that I did before. I get a "fail" in Odin after the cache.img process and have to remove the battery to reboot device.
Has anyone had this issue or am I the only idiot to unroot this beast of a phone?
Best bet. Odin back to stock and then reroot and forget about updates.

I just tried that. Downloaded the firmware from sammobile and used Odin to install it. Then proceeded to re-root using CF autoroot again. Same "fail" message.

SM-G900A firmware corrupted

Hi, i recently got the SM-G900A from AT&T and the firmware corrupted. It was running stock lollipop with the build number G900AUCU4BOF3. At first i was on a screen where it said for me to "Connect to Kies and select Emergency Recover" or something, but my phone isn't supported nor does it show up on Kies. I have tried every stock version i could find to try and downgrade my build number if possible, but it would always fail in Odin.
Also, in Recovery Mode it shows a completely different build number: G900AUCU1ANCE

The thing i don't really get is why it let me flash "system.img.tar" and it won't flash a full stock rom without the output above.. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If possible, can someone dump their stock rom?

Odin will not flash TWRP

I have the SM-G920T S6 and I recently tried to install twrp and root using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...l/how-to-flash-marshmallow-update-sm-t3362983. I have always used a nexus device so I am not familiar with odin, but I thought I had it figured out. In odin it says the recovery flash was successful and gave me a PASS message. Once I tried rebooting to recovery it was still the stock recovery and no twrp. I have gone back over the instructions, but I still get the same results. I have checked and my system is now marked as custom but Knox is not tripped. Any help would be appreciated.
You are really close. I had similar trouble flashing twrp o. My G920T. I got it to work flash with Odin using twrp by idlekernel. Here is the link download the version to flash with odin under AP or PDA.
I hope this helps.
