Did you select the firmware .tar file in odin PDA tab only?
This sometimes happens due to bad download file, try flashing some other firmware, preferably GB so that you can wipe if required.
search google with 'Receive Response form LOKE" and you will find lot of people having same issue and most of them able to resolve by flashing different firmware.

Yes, its completely wrong, you should select single firmware .tar in PDA tab only. Try again by rebooting your phone and check if you have kies running, if so close it completely.
SUGGESTION- Do not flash ICS stock rom now, I am not sure what has been messed up by flashing this using phone tab (ICS phone files on GB base, not sure), best is flash stock GB firmware first, then wipe in stock recovery and flash ICS.

Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, mods pls move it to the right forum.
I have a non-rooted, non-operator free Samsung Galaxy Note with Gingerbread and I want to root it, set it operator free and flash ICS.
I tried to flash a ROM via Odin (N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_DBT), followed the steps (open Odin, select the md5 file @ PDA, startup the phone on download mode, connect the phone to pc, now Odin recognizes it and shows the yellow case, then I press start) but at a certain point it just stops working and I dunno what to do, its frustrating...
Here's the Odin's Console log:

Usually ODIN takes a lil long to flash a rom.So give it a good 10mins time and see it comoletes the installation....
Or you may use the new ODIN by grgsiocl. It shows the remaining time left to finish flashing. Its there in themes and apps section.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
sometimes 30 or more minutes.
Usually it stops there either thought corrupt download of rom, redownload it try again.
Or because you have bricked it "op op" emmc "style" way.
If you did not root phone, or put different kernels on, then dont do anything and contact entropy, he is looking for a case where without this the phone was superbricked.

You may not have all the drivers from Samsung? Download Kies, run it. Then turn off Kies, antivirus and firewall. Commissioning Odin as administrator.
Wait for atleast 20 mins approx to get the stage completed or throw out to samsung service center to get it done.

Dear all,
I found a new firmware on sammobile site and thought to upgrade my Galaxy note from:
N7000JPLPD_N7000OJPLP7_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar.md5
to:
N7000JPLR8_N7000OJPLR8_N7000XXLRK_HOME.tar.md5
(Both of them for Pakistan)
First I used Odin 1.83 to flash but after about 20% the Odin turned red indicating 'Fail'
Then I searched the web and (I know it's my fault) somewhere downloaded Odin 1.85, checked all the fields on Odin, like "Re Partition- Autoboot-F reset time"
I check them all and then another mistake.... used the same MD5 file in all 3 'PDA, PHONE, CSC" and flashed again.
And also used the PIT file which was in the Odin 1.85's folder.
Now I can enter the download mode but if I try to flash the new ROM, it goes upto 20% and says something like this:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..

Hi friend just try flashing to GB and then to any other.
Use company cable for data transfer, try with another usb port and i hope it must get cleared.
Press THANKS if it helped you
Thank you my friend, but could you guide me where to find GB? And what GB actually is? The older 2.3.6 Ginger bread?

If it's failing at factory.fs then you could be in longer term trouble, let us know.

dude... try this,,
just pull out the battery. wait for 10 secs.. reinsert. go back to download mode.. use odin 1.85 and just select the tar.md5 fine in pda section.. donot check repartion.. dont use pit file.
PS: if odin is stuck once.. u cannot continue from there.. the phone needs a reboot for another try
I read somewhere saying that flashing pit file must be accompanied by bootloader or your device might brick.

Hi all,
unfortunately i have broken the screen of my Note, completely, no touch response and something like this.
I'm be able to connect the phone with kies and recover all data, but with kies it's impossibile to reset the firmware.
I want to sell my phone as broken phone but i need to do an hard reset to be sure that all personal data is deleted,
how i can do this?
Thanks a lot guys
is the screen lil bit visible?

no completely black with no touch response
what rom were u on. If u r able to connect to kies the. u should be able to see the phones drives in my computer as well. u can delete some data from there.
I guess u can do it using adb
If you need to do factory-reset,follow the following steps:
Download this
Open ODIN
put factory_reset.tar.md5 in PDA section and donot check/uncheck anything else...
Put your phone in download mode and connect it to PC.
hit start and it will flash and reboot.
And the device will be factory resetted
ODIN is attached in this post if you need it
This is a very good news, just 2 questions:
1. to put my phone in download mode i have to switch on the phone keeping pressed "volume down" "home" and "power" after just press volume down to enter in download mode, is that right ?
2. if i do the step 5 and the phone is not in download mode what happen?
the screen is completely black and i'll be blind when follow this steps
maybe i have done something wrong but i don't know what...

Step 1 is wrong
Volume down + home +power
That will lead to warning Page
Here you have to press volume up (you wrote down) to enter download mode,
And looking to log device added two times, this corelate your mistake , because you are pressing volume down in warning Page that will reboot your device normally instead of download mode and after booting it gets added again
One thing I want to add, the file you are flashing will raise flash counter, so if you are covered under warranty, this may voids warranty.
Alternatively you can flash stock rom file for CSC tab, that will erase everything.

I think it wont raise the counter because its just an empty data partition and some stock rom contains this.As far as I know only flashing modified kernel will raise the counter. But today evening i will test to confirm it

I don't think counter matters at this moment.. He wants to sell the phone so he wants to delete data.

yes you can give now...
Custom binary Counter is something put up by samsung on our phones that shows them how may time we have flashed insecure (modified kernel) on our phone. It is shown in download mode. But it can be easy resetted on a rooted phone using TriangleAway app by chainfire.
And you can press thanks for all my posts if you really need to thank me .But remember you can only give 8 thanks per day
can i push "thanks" 2 times per post?
thank you very much
EDIT: Rebooted my computer and phone and it flashed fine. Thank you for all the help. I'm off to explore the world of custom roms.
Finally decided to root my phone and install CM9 from GB 2.3.6 with the LA4 Kernel. Downloaded everything I needed as per Post 3 of this thread. Accidentally flashed the newer kernel instead of the pre rooted ROM.
Realizing my mistake, I tried flashing the correct ROM and PC Odin gives me a failure. The phone won't boot, it just stays stuck on the Galaxy Note N7000 Logo with an exclamation mark at the bottom.
Check if you have cwm (power+home +volume up) If so then flash this get the standard version, then go advanced options and reboot recovery...
After that do all wipes data/cache/Dalvik cache then flash the cm9 for n7000,then flash cm9 GApps then reboot...
After the system boots to android set it up and download triangle away and use it to get rid of the yellow triangle
If you don't have cwm then download a stock GB rom and flash it via odin... Start from scratch
Cheers
Tapatalking on my GT-N7000
what is the error pc odin giving you?
Don't quite remember anymore since it was from this morning. All I recall is the little box on the top left going red.
Could I try replicating the problem or do I risk damaging my phone?
odin won't damage the phone. As above poster said check if you have cwm, else use Odin again

No, I don't have CWM so I've been downloading a stock rom since I saw that post should take an hour with glorious third world internet. In the meantime should I fish out that error message you requested or is it not worth it at this point?
If you need all data back and everything to be working I would recommend you to flash back the same ROM you had earlier using odin.
Go back to Square 1.
Then root it from Dr Ketan's post.
as you downloading the rom. you are going to use Odin again. Let know the error
Yeap, another fail while using PCOdin.
Going to install samsung USB drivers from the file in this thread and get rid of Kies.
Here's the stuff from the little window.

great
Hello,
Just flashed my GT-I9070 according to the how-to of qzem with the recommended settings.
This worked out once, then I was trying another firmware, this didn't work out (phone was hanging at the Samsung GT-I9070 start-screen), so I thought: "OK, lets do the other firmware again".
So entered the download mode and tried to flash the "old" firmware again (XXLD1.tar) but it just does something very fast (not really installing) and reboots again with hanging at the start screen.
OK, so lets got to the "recovery-mode"... not possible!
Did this now a few times, but everytime the same result, just a quick full download bar and restarting with hanging.
Did I kill my phone? :crying:
ODIN look also fine...

UPDATE:
After installing a stock ROM everything worked fine again, also recovery mode.
BUT on installing the rrotkernel.tar of qzem it again hangs at the start-screen.
So problem is reduced on that step.
So how to unlock my phone without that rootkernel???
I was also struggling with qzem's method, didn't brick it but I couldn't root it. Would be nice if someone could clarify this, I'm curious.
So I ended up with a pre-rooted firmware from diego's thread. Many links are down but since you're voiding your warranty
by rooting then what's the point in having a firmware for your country? Just keep in mind that pre-rooted should match the base one, if you're gonna do this.
