Is this a safe metod?
Because dr.ketan has said:
Using CWM.zip (temporary/Touch recovery)method to root is said to be unsafe by entropy, and till safe release don't use it

First of all remove advise to flash CWM.zip urgently it is dangerous
It is working but it can brick your device (it worked means not safe)
and why you are ceating same post thre times

your post count is single digit and still you need to read much on XDA, before starting to teach 'Flash N rooting Basic' to others.

Dont Use CWM.zip which proved to brick device

It worked means not safe. And there are thousands of craps around world, XDA have lots elite developers and need not to refer those.

Why are you trying to divert everyone?what is ur basic aim?

As dr.ketan pointed out, this method is dangerous. I suggest more homework is done before posting.

Thanks for the quick response. So as I understand, I have to downgrade first SGN using the firmware link you have provided. That will also root the device. And then I can upgrade to latest firmware with mobile odin pro.
Sorry for asking this noob question as on SGS2 I didnt faced such issue and always used CF Root method.

yes exactly
one more thing i like to add, just update kernel also after updating latest ROM
for example if you suppose update ROM to XXLC1
then, you have to go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
find 'I have kernel LC1' download n follow procedure with selecting already rooted.

I need to install ICE CREAM SANDWICH DOMINATION v1.1 theme. Please tell me what all things i need to install to use this theme. Mine SGN is not rooted. I am on DDLB2 kernal.
Please give proper steps with what all things i need to do. (Please dont give any thread links as they are too confusing)
Pls spend 5mins for me. Thanks in advance.
---------- Post added at 08:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:02 AM ----------
i understood this
Note that, this will downgrade your ROM to KJ1, after that you can update it.
Download: https://rapidshare.com/files/3690281..._FACTORYFS.zip
(special thanx to schiwa for providing premium a/c to host file)
- Make sure your SGN is NOT connected to your computer
- Reboot your SGN into "download mode" (Vol Down + Home + Power)
- Start ODIN
- Click the PDA button, and select the "SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.tar" file
- Connect the SGN to your computer
- Make sure "repartition" is NOT checked
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot TWICE
- Done.
This is the rooting process
What is next then to install that theme??

[Q] Rooting Optimus Black V20T

Can anyone tell me how to root a P970 V20T? I have searched the forums and can't find a guide for anything beyond the V20S. Either a step by step guide, or a link to a post that is already in place would be great. I have tried following some of the guides for the earlier versions without success.
If it helps the phone was bought network free for use in the UK.

Nice reply - not - and I asked as I am not psychic. Your Gingerbread (v20x) link goes to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480392
You then have a list of instructions which end with 'Dont exactly kno, what it does, but as far as I get it, it roots the device and installs CWM touch. Credits go to poster, if it is successful. '
I would hardly describe this as 'your work', you hadn't even bothered to verify it before stealing it without having the courtesy of naming the original poster, so perhaps you should also take care about who you label lazy.
Another point is that there are 2 options on the list, namely the link above and the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456274
The first points to v20x and the second points to v20* which to me would essentially be the same thing, hence asking which I should follow. That is being sensible - shame someone who happily takes credit for other peoples work is so shallow as to be unaware of how poorly they have laid out the links they have ripped off.

Hey if you feel like writting your own how to... just go ahead. I just tried to be nice to newcomers like you and put together mist of the necessary information in one place. If you think, you can write a better, nicer, more complete one, I surely wont be the one person, that stoos you from doing so. I know how many hours I ve spent on writting it. If you dont like what you see... try to turn your head in another direction maybe.

I think you should stick to what has Jackwu696 suggested.
Anyway here are the rough steps.
1. Download Philz kernel to your mobile.
2. Download RAW kernel V4 or V5 your mobile.
3. Enter recovery mode using the Vol Up + Power + Home keys.
4. Flash Philz kernel, reboot back to recovery ( using the keys mentioned above)
5. Flash RAW kernel and reboot to recovery.
6. Perform a complete wipe.
7. Flash your CM11 ROM and reboot.
Go through the forums in depth and you will find lots of posts with detailed steps.
Always read the OP carefully before you do anything. Whatever you do is under your own risk, so you are warned!!!

Hello manmo,
While I think that we should try to help those in need, I really feel that at least those who asks for help should already know what they want to do and at least how to do before asking for help. I will be happy to rewrite guidance that you wrote which is in every beginning post of a rom thread IF the correspondence has already tried the steps and met problems instead of just asking "how'. And I'm sure much more experienced xda members would be glad to help, too if the questions is a just one.

you're right, but for example: I like to answer simple questions in here because I need to write 10 posts before I can write the developer thread (it's really frustrating that I can not write a solution to the problems in developer thread
provide me a detailed steps
