Helo everyone,
We have here 2 droids, 3 and 4 with same carrier (IUSACELL at Mexico). Strange thing is that when Droid3 is working in UTMS (3G icon), Droid4 is getting EDGE (E icon).
Wondering if there is a workarround to solve this?

Hope you are on ICS build..
In your Droid 4 Open :
Settings --> More-->Mobile Networks
Touch "Network Mode"
Select GSM/UMTS
Now wait a few seconds.
Navigate to "Select Network"
It would be in Automatic
Change it to UMTS Only or Automatic

Hey people.
Had a question for the smart people that live here.
When I am at home on the couch or downstairs in the computer room.i have very low signal or no signal. If I restart my phone I can see the signal bars go from full to none. My phone picks up a faint signal from hspa network (bell network) and keeps going from 3G to hspa. Before I had the galaxy s I had the touch pro on just the 3G network and did not have problems like this.
Does anyone know of a way that I could lock the galaxy s into the 3G network? I tried going to settings» network» mobile network and selecting one of the bell networks but gives me the error that i am not allowed to select the network, it will automatically choose it for me.
Running eclair,UGJH2
Thanks in advance for any help.

I am in a fringe 4g area where I don't have a really good signal, so I want to force to 3g but the option for preferred networks is grayed out. Anyone else have this problem?

I was able to install LTE onOff from the market, but I should be able to do it in the system settings.
Go to the Dialer, type *#*#4636#*#* and then go to Phone Information. In the lower half of that screen you'll get every network option you could ask for. Go "CDMA Only" for 2G data only and choose "CDMA Auto (PRL)" for 3G
Thanks for that, buy we used to be able to switch between 3g/cdma and LTE in the settings menu. I am just trying to figure out if it is an unfinished part of the leak or something permanent of ics.
Hi, I got my Moto X and I am using it in Argentina. I have to force the phone to use 2g in some areas because there are many networks problems, I could do that with my Droid HD but I have not got this options in my Moto x.
Is there an option for do that?
Try this widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.curvefish.widgets.network2g3gonoff&hl
Settings -> mobile networks -> use only 2g networks
Seems to be there on mine

Hi I'm having a problem with signal that have to chance back from the E to 3g/H/H+, where the signal is strong enough to. Even when the umts is stronger, it won't switch back when it's on edge
The switching between these 3 umts types is normal
Is there a bug or is it the radio in the phone
Do I have to sent it back for hardware check

I didnt got ya!
You mean your phone is going from E to 3G/H/H+ or backwards automatically? if this is your problem then go to settings, under wireless and networks section select more, select mobile networks then select network modes. Select WCDMA for 3G/H/H+ or GSM for E.

Yes this right. If some times no sinyal the problem came from network provider.
I have a nexus 6 running pure nexus on the T-Mobile network.. I have severe data connection issues where I have moved. I can get LTE but if not careful it will drop to Edge or G.
Once it drops I have to reboot and fight with it to get LTE back.
Anyone know of a root app or way to force LTE only? Edge and G are worthless and will not load anything at all.

dial *#*#4636#*#*, then press phone information, then scroll down and select lte only. it has to be done after every reboot.

Not on T-Mo- if I try "LTE only", I cant make/receive calls. Is that normal?
I'm on tmobile, and use lte only often. and can make/receive calls. you can't only if tmobile doest have volte in your area or if you didn't enable enhanced 4G lte mode in main settings, more, cellular networks..
