Hello,
I was going to flash Clockworkmod recovery into pmy Galaxy Tab (P1000L), following the steps via Cyanogenmod wiki. Downloaded heimdall and the Technomancer's kernel with the ClockworkMod Recovery. Installed drivers and all, flashed and it was all good. But then after rebooting, the tablet got stuck on the boot screen, that one showing "Galaxy Tab Samsung" and the keys it up. And just that. I did nothing wrong, I think.
What do I do?
Also, ODIN doesn't find the tablet, but I can still flash zImages via heimdall.
sorry that I never heard of Technomancer's kernel.
but I suspect you flash a P1000 kernel, not a P1000L one.
Can you boot to recovery (volume up + power, and when samsung logo appear let go of power but hold on to volume up, until recovery menu appear)?

I was able to flash a working kernel, now it's a 2.3 Stock ROM.
But I still want to install clockworkmod to flash cyanogenmod9, and the tutorial in their wiki doesn't seems to work. Any ideas on how to do it?
Maybe rooting, but how?

Towards the end he said:
The Overcome guide is a good start before you get to CM9.
Easy restock from Gingerbread, in case you get any strange simptoms.
Flash full stock Gingerbread (with repartition).
Flash Kernel with CwM. Doesn’t have to be Overcome, could be any CF-root kernel for your model. You can use the same one in the CM9 ZIP that you will flash.
Boot directly into CwM Recovery, holding VolUp. No need to convert to ext4, since MTD will converto to yaffs2 anyways.
Flash CM9 ROM and GApps!
Now, there is Overcome new link in my signature.
Download your cm9 for p1l and gapps-ics and put in external sdcard
Download the Overcome kernel tar and flash it with Odin, (read the overcome guide if you don't know how to flash the kernel tar)
and when complete it will reboot, just force it off.
Then boot to recovery like what he said, and follow on.

My Tab is stuck at GalaxyTab Samsung" boot screen after i try to flash Roto-JMI-v2, before i was running Overcome v1.1.2 rom and [Kernel] [EURO] [1.4ghz OC/UV] MCR EXT4 v12 and it work like a charm. But becurse i deside to sell my TAB i flash back to Roto JMI.
I flash with Odin 1.7 with success, but now it stuck at boot logo.
After that I try many other ROM and flash with Heimdal but no lock.
I have no problem to get download mode, and flash with odin and Heimdal. But I can't get into recovery mode (power+vol up)
I have try almost every solution in the Forum...
What to do next...??
Have you tried flashing kernel only? like the overcome kernel v1.0?
Perhaps that will get you ClockWorkMod Recovery back...and you can go from there.
I try it now, shall i use odin or Helmdall to flash kernel only
With overcome kernel v1.0 it fail in Odin
That's odd. Odin should flash the kernel fine.
Does it give an error? or it just says successful, but you still cannot get into CWM?
It give a error, and I still cannot get into CWM, shall i use a pit to flash
And I have try this....
1.Get a stock rom package (any of Rotohammer's firmwares will work)
2.Get P1_add_hidden.zip attached to this post and extract the P1_add_hidden.pit file
3.Using Odin 1.7, put stock rom (Roto-JME-Full-v4.tar for example) in PDA slot.
4.Put P1_add_hidden.pit in Pit slot
5.Check repartition box
6.Put Tab in download mode by holding Volume Down and Power, connect to the computer, and press start.
7.After this, the Tab will reboot normally. Shut it down and return to download mode.
8.Open Odin 1.7 and reconnect the Tab.
9.In the PDA slot, choose the Overcome Kernel v2.0 tar file for use with Odin. Press start
10.It will flash the kernel then reboot. Upon reboot, you should hear the sexy robot voices informing you of the status of the EXT4 conversion.
11.Once done, the Tab will boot normally. At this point you can load Overcome v1.2.2 rom (or any other Rom of your choosing)
12.NOTE - Overcome 1.2.2 includes v2.0 of the kernel, so no reflashing is required after install.

You are correct - he needs to repartition the sd card, using the .pit file because it was formatted to ext4.
Your steps are great! I do them one at a time with a reboot between each one.

Oops - if you got your rom from samsung you have a locked bootloader. You can continue to flash those updates, or you can use a patch to remove the lock, then you can continue on.
Can someone please paste the link to the patch?
how about the Verizon gtab...
same thing is happening to me on the galaxy tab from verizon... samsung says to send it.. but i dont want to wait two weeks without my tab... thanks..
Stuck in Bootup Screen
I also have same problem,
I flashed a Rom from "samfirmware" and after it finished it stuck on bootup screen, unable to do recovery mode.
only goes to bootup screen or Dawnload .
can you guys help ?
You gentlemen have a locked bootloader. If you search the tab development forum you will find the solution. A member named Chainfire developed an app you download to your sd card, then install it, then run it, and it will move the offending bootloader. I can't get the link here - google "locked bootloader patch" or posts by Chainfire.
When it is removed, don't flash roms with the samsung kies - all those roms have the locked bootloader.
Stuck in Bootup Screen
thanks
but I can not get the tab to load in order to run any app. it is stuck in boot screen. any suggestion ?
You cannot get into download mode? That is power + volume down.
Do you know of the adb program?
stuck on bootup screen
I havent used ADB before.
any other solution?

how install apk boot pacth phone only samsung logo or only enter download mode how install boot patch ?
newbie comes here to learn how to flash kernel.
Hello,
I own a I-897 Captivate model, and I had a custom 2.3.4 gignerbread rom recently..
Latley I tried to move to cognition becuase the other rom did problems for me..
So I followed the guide, and when I first flashed the kernel I wasn't using any pit file..
So it's just stuck on odin with nothing happening, so I closed odin and rebooted my phone.
Then the phone showed me a logo with phone and computer with X between them.
So I flashed again using the pit then I got to the recovery, where I tried to install the cognition 5.2 without succes, it finished the install, but when I rebooted it just kept switching between the boot screen of AT&T and Galaxy S GT I9000..
So I tried to use my Nandroid backup, but it just won't work, I tried to install it manually and still it isn't working..
So I tried to instal my previous rom and succeeded, but now when I reboot it it just loading the Talon logo, finishes it and stuck on the end of the loading without any action...
So, I can use the download mode and odin.
What should I do?
Thank you very much.
What build number is your phone

I have read tons of time,
I tried to install Cyanogenmod, but it seems when I get to the recovery it doesn't work..
I flashed the recovery through CWM, but its very limited and blue not bright green or yellow as always.
I only got 4 options:
Reboot
Re-Install packges
Wipe user data
Wipe cahce
How do I get my recovery work properly?
That's not CMW that's the regular 3e recovery. You'll need to flash a kernel with CMW built in or one with an alternate recovery (I usually use an Onix kernel)

I've flashed a full gingerbread stock rom, with boot loaders and it works fine,
but now I can't get to the download mode, so I cant flash the rooted kernel..
I'm stucked unrooted, How can I root it?
It's Gingerbread 2.3.3 UCKF1 Build stock rom.
Pull out your battery, Sim, and SD card. Plug your usb cable into a usb port on the back of your computer then plug it into your phone. Hold volume up and down then reinsert your battery, should boot into download mode.

Greetings friends,
I am a tablet flashing veteran and I need your help. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" T-Mobile (SGH-T849) which I have flashed to CM7 using Heimdall. The flash appeared to be successful, and I used the Clockwork Recovery app to flash the recovery module. Now, no matter what I try, the tab will ONLY boot into recovery. It will not boot to an OS.
I can even use the CWM recovery console to flash a new image, but it restarts back to recovery!
I've been searching for the stock firmware to see if that gives me control, but all of the download links are broken. To make matters worse, this tablet isn't mine, so I'm facing the fact that if I can't recover this thing, I will have to pay to replace it.
I am able to get it to download mode, and I've tried ODIN'ing several images as well, but still, it just restarts to the darn recovery console.
Please help!
Thanks.
restock using Overcome Method:
Go to overcome site
Http://www.teamovercome.net
Read the guide,
Missing pictures can be seen here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20974872
Follow the picture step by step.
Basically to restock:
Download GB-stock-safe-v5.zip, unzip it and and flash with ODIN according to the guide.
Stop there and you will have Gingerbread JQ1
You can continue with the rest, and you will get Overcome 4.1 and you won't regret.
From there you can then try AOKP or CM9, all requires you to have Overcome Kernel with its CWM recovery to flash.
so I soft bricked my p1000 by attempting to download and install the latest cm9 nightly (i'm pretty sure i tried to flash a bad zip.
it starts up, gets to the samsung galaxy tab logo and hangs until i force it to power off. I CAN enter download mode but not CWM recovery.
I would very much like to recover the data that is currently on my tab or i would simply restock as all of the unbricking guides suggest, but alas, I want my data.
I have a known good working rom image .zip on the internal flash. so I would like to just attempt to flash that, but I can't seem to access CWM recovery.
From what I gather, cwm recovery is a function of the kernel, so then, at this point I would very much just like to flash one of the modern cm9 cwm recovery-enabled kernels via odin OR a known good cm9 install package via odin.
does anybody know how I can go about doing this?
that is why I always use heimdall.
extract the boot.img from good package and
heimdall flash --kernel ./boot.img --recovery ./boot.img
I do realize that this is what the thanks button is for, but somehow that doesn't seem to be enough. thanks to your instruction, I was able to immidiately get my p1000 back online up and running. THANK YOU so very much! *super internet high five*!!
Hello
I am trying to boot my phone into recovery using the combo buttons, however it does not it just loops back to the "samsung galaxy note n7000 " screen. I can get into download mode.
I am trying to install N7000DDLSC, N7000DDLS6 rom, which is a stock 4.1.2 JB rom.I did download an odin version but i think i am struggling to find a compatible kernel (odin version) Can someone please help me find one or even give me a solution to fixing my no recovery problem. btw i have tried the following kernels but when i flash the rom via odin it fails at the "factoryfs" stage.
philz-cwm6-ddlsc-odd-4.90.8
philz-cwm6-xxlsc-xjb-4.35
philz-cwm6-xxlsz-oxa-4.90.8
Thanks for any help
does the phone boot normally?
why are you trying to find a kernel before flashing the rom as the rom will have its own kernel.. kernel doesnot matter if you are flashing via odin
remove the battery and put it back in.. the press volup+home+power till you see N7000 logo and leave the buttons.. try this without the usb cable connected.
Have you followed dr.ketan steps in flashing stock ROM (USB driver, odin) (dr.ketan thread)
What button combo you use to go to recovery? is it as nokiamodeln91 mentioned?
In download mode, does ID:COM box becomes yellow after connecting device to USB?
Flashing stock firmware will flash stock kernel as well.. so no need to flash kernel separately unless you want advanced cwm with extra features (like philz kernel)
