Just like he said... Flash The Stock ROM via ODIN. I tried Installing the same Cusom ROM like 4 times and flashed the stock one and it worked perfect.
I agree. Flash ICS. I like N7000XXLRT. Do not do full wipe! You will brick your phone. If you want root and Clockworkmod Recovery, flash an Odin version of Speedmod kernel. When Speedmod is flashed you can do a full wipe.
Google this : speedmod-kernel-n7000-ics-k3-13-Odin.tar
Will this brick be the hard brick a Samsung jig has no use for? I'm sure I have done this on my note by accident.
it depends if the phone responds to pc and is able to go to download mode.. then chances are there that it can be revived. but if its totally dead then ... samsung service
I have Justplugged my phone into pc and as I stated yesterday it is throwing USB not recognised errors. As I can't get onto any mode I'm hoping a jig will get me into download mode to use Odin as Samsung service is miles away from home.. If all else fails looks like I'll be throwing my much loved note in the bin and purchasing an s3
may be jig will help u.. but if its under warranty then go for that.. i dont prefer s3 much but note 2
ITs not under warranty so that's a no go. My jig will be here tomorrow and have bought two off different sellers for £1.50 on eBay. Wish me luck
good luck mate
Nope, this USB jig hasn't helped me looks like have a paperweight and a hefty bit of my wages going out for a new phone
if u still love the note go for a motherboard replacement
I have found a jtag service in the uk from a good reviewed website. I'm goin to give this a try as it doesn't break the bank and seems legit.

need help xda...
I was flashing to stock 2.2 using odin one click.
My phone will NOT
turn on
boot to recovery
or boot to download screen.
I have currently sent it to samsung to get it fixed, and it is under warranty.
But i believe they will return it without a repair because ive heard this voids the warranty.
Help? any suggestions
well I guess you just wait and see...

You should (have told?)tell them that you were upgrading to Froyo and the power went out, crashing your desktop PC. This will not void your warranty.
yeah.. i did i told them i was doing an ota update and the power went out. hopefully it works out.
you cannot brick a galaxy s phone..... you should have done some research on this forum... i just now got thru making a jig and forced my phone into download mode , ou could have easily done the same.... i also had a failed flash with odin on my captivate
I think, Samsung will repair it or will give you a replacement (refurbished)...if not than..
If it is from ATT then tell them that you were upgrading to Froyo and followed instructions on the ATT website...but some how it was dead in between....as you have warranty on it for one year
They will replace (will give u refurb phone) it..I got two replacements lol
Refurb phone are better then dead paper weight...so try your luck

you are wrong, it can be bricked. I was doing Odin and my battery went dead (a very stupid mistake done by me)..There is no hope if the phone is completely not responsive....not even Jig will work...
well, i wanted to see if samsung would fix it first, and if they do for free its something i wont have to worry about...
I am posting here as a way to ensure that in the off chance that they dont fix the phone that i have a back up plan...
plan c is to get the nexus one. lol
Ok guys, clearly I'm new to all this. I've only had my Galaxy S (I9000m Bell) for 3 days now and already managed to brick it.
So here's what happened, I wanted to flash CM7, what I did was rooted obviously, I unlocked since I'm with Rogers and the phone is from Bell. Installed Rom manager, titanium back, Terminal emulator, Astro, etc. So I'm pretty sure I have the required tools. I also flashed SpeedMod Froyo [K13D HPCall VoodooSnd4 SharpnessFix STABLE].
Alright so I noticed I couldn't boot into recovery from CWM even though I flashed it using Rom Manager, I tried fixing this for a while with no luck. I then came upon a thread discussing the 3 button combo fix for download mode. I wanted to get this done just in case what happened happened lol
So anyways, I couldn't find instructions for Mac so I tried putting the pieces together using terminal and Heimdall.
The last thing that happened to my phone was that I was able to get into download mode using adb reboot recovery.
However continuing to the next step to apply the fix wouldn't work for me using heimdall, it would just fail.
Being the idiot that I am I decided to exit in terminal, closed heimdall, turned off the phone and turned it back on and guess what...yup I'm screwed. It's bricked.
Now the problem is I don't have 3 button fix, so I can't get into download mode (even if i did, i wouldn't know what to do).
I read about the jig fix but I don't know if i have any other options, hopefully something faster that I can do myself instead of buying the jig and having to wait for it to **** from ebay.
Sorrry for the longgg post and hope anyone here can help me! Thanks
PS. I tried using terminal again to get to download mode like i did the first time (adb reboot recovery) and it didn't work...it said no device found or something like that
Hi It seems your only option short of looking for a repair shop or sending phone to Samsung is to try the JIG. If you don't know how to approach this print any of the diagrams or guidelines e.g. look here.
What you can do is go to electronics part shop and ask for help with the jig ask the man to wire the resistors to the pins in usb plug just to see if the phone kick starts if not, well you're screwed.
If it works just buy it if not, google for repair shop with Riff Box and JTAG adapter for I9000 it takes about half a bell to do it (repair I mean). But if it's new you have to return it in for repair.
I guess you should get the jig one way or another, either visit electronics parts shop, ebay-it
hope this'll help somewhat.
cheers
If you're in the vancouver area, you can swing by and use the jig I made
Thank you both for the feed back.
@Tony I'm actually in Ottawa. I found someone on Kjiji that also made his own but wants to charge $10 and he lives too far away so I just went ahead and ordered one off ebay for $9 with shipping.
I read on the xda thread regarding the JIG that it the phone doesn't boot at all and just shows a black screen with the bricked image (as opposed to loading the carrier name or samsung with a white screen before) that it won't work and that is my case. Anyways I hope it works, just gotta wait and see I guess. I just don't even know what the next step would be. What do I do once I'm in download mode? :S
EDIT: NVM about the whole white screen, black screen thing, it says that the JIG should work if I see the PC-Phone logo which I do.
Three days huh? Wow, when you do it, you really DO it. Reading your description it sounded a bit like a Med student doing a brain transplant.
First I would just take the phone back to your carrier or service center and say you have no idea what happened, pay the money and have them sort it out. I fear there is no easy way out of the hole you have dug.
Next you should spend a few hours reading as much as you can here and then start small. Ask questions before you do anything. Root the phone. Try a few different kernels and lagfixes. Maybe flash something from doc's kitchen or a custom ROM. Make sure you know in advance what could go wrong and how to handle it, as much as possible. Once you have some experience then try something like cm7, which is very much a beta on the sgs and quite complex to flash and set up.
Spend a little time walking before you run (no matter how much you think you know) ...you'll enjoy the trip more.

Haha I can't take it back to the carrier, I bought it off kijiji, it's from Bell and I'm with Rogers. I unlocked it and as far as I know Bell is really bad with their warranty and last time I bought a Blackberry that was locked to Bell and unlocked it I was told by Bell that I need a receipt, which I obviously don't have. I would rather throw the phone away and buy a new one than have to deal with carriers.
I'm just gonna try the JIG I guess since I already ordered it. Hopefully doesn't take too long to get here.
And yes, I definitely need to read more and follow the instructions on a Windows PC instead of trying to put bits and pieces together and try to get everything working on Mac.
It seems however that the more I read the more I get confused, is it just me or are there so many different ways to achieving the same thing?
Anyways, I bought this as my first Android to experiment and learn on and so far that's what I've been doing. I'm not afraid of running into problems, I'll try to enjoy fixing them

You are right that there are different approaches to doing the same thing...often it is just a matter of what works for you.
Once you have a jig you will have no trouble going in to download mode. From there anything is fixable using odin. I would suggest reading the thread about darky's resurrection ROM which is a good place to start from when you have had trouble.
Just remember to do your homework and enjoy the process.
Good luck.

Sounds good, will definitely keep that in mind. Thank you for your help, very much appreciated.
Hey guysss!
I just wanted to let you all know that I am a biggg IDIOT! LOL
So I ordered the JIG from ebay and on my way home I went to a couple of electronic stores to try and buy those resistors because I wanted to make my own JIG as well. Anyways, all the stores were closed and my friend told me he can grab the resistors from his lab tomorrow (engineering students lol)
I obviously don't want to wait till tomorrow. I came home and decided to take out the phone from its box again. This time I did the 3-button combo but in a different way, not using volume UP + DOWN + power but I came across a Samsung PDF explaining the Anyway JIG and it showed to press Volume Down + Home button + Power.
I gave that a try and voilà!!! I'm back in download mode! YAYYY!
I'm afraid to turn it off or pull the battery out cuz I don't want to risk ruining it even more so I'm gonna go ahead with rschenck's suggestion and use Darky's Resurrection Rom!
Thank you all for your help!!

If you can get to download mode you are fine for the moment since that is what you need for odin. Follow one of the guides for using odin here at XDA exactly, and good luck.

Ok so after download mode, I followed the steps to reflash stock, i downloaded the same JL2 that I had prior. Odin said passed but the phone wouldn't boot, it would just get stuck on S in the boot screen...
I did a complete wipe data/cache through recovery and that didnt help.
I then thought I would give Darky's Resurrection a try since it wipes everything anyways...odin again said PASSED but there was a sign of a circle on the screen and it didn't boot. I did it again, said passed again and this time im on a endless boot loop. It turns on says samsung i9000, etc. and then blinks and does it again.
I am still able to get into download mode. I just don't know what to do anymore
Download mode = Yes
Then download stock firmware from samsungfirmwares.com not 2.3.3
or from link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
Download ODIN
Flash stock firmware through Odin with pit 512 and repartition checked .
If that fails try Eclair firmware 2.1

Ok so I did the above instructions and I the same happened. I am on JL2 now but it wont pass the boot screen (Stuck on the S). I did check repartition and 512 pit and pda.
I also have this error:
Can't mount DBDATA: copy default media content failed
My question is if I try eclair will I lose 3 button fix? From what I was able to gather the 3 button fix for Bell I9000M only came out with JL2.
Will I lose it or is it permanent once I have it?

But wrong bootloaders = brick, soft or otherwise. Try a jig to get into download mode.
Samfirmware has nothing which will work on your phone.
I'm looking to do some experimental non-invasive recovery on bricks and I need something to test. If you'd like, you can send it to me for some analys and it could help the entire community... or you can send to connexxion2005 for jtag recovery.

After watching your video, it looks like a hard brick. A jig will not help. You need to consider JTAG, invasive or non invasive.

No way he can enter download mode when he flashed CWM for the wrong phone...
If you are aware you hard bricked your device, why are you calling for help? Hard bricks can only be repaired with JTAG, not something you can do at home.
time for a new phone... if it's hard bricked then just bin it and learn from you're mistake. remember research before you do anything with you're new phone.
If your phone is under warranty, go get it fixed in samsung service centre for free( Act innocent- say you set the alarm and your phone never started or rang in the morning)
If its not, say FML and use your phone as paper weight.
another victime of ROM MANAGERS ......lol
Never use ROM manager! Many people had brick with it!
Do you still have the guarantee? Go to SSC (Samsung Service Center).

Wow, I guess the guy who sold me his GT-S6500 must have done something like this, because the exact same things are happening to this phone. It's true: before using strange programs or downloading any firmware without being sure it will suit your phone model, you have to read all the appropriate guides, as other users just recommended before. Or just ask for help to someone with more experience. :fingers-crossed:
Now it's almost 3 days I'm trying to solve the problem with this poor Mini 2. I'm afraid the seller could have used that ROM Manager, and if it wasn't enough, he also destroyed the battery.
Remember that if the phone shows a boot loop with the samsung writings but it still can go into Download Mode (but not into Recovery), the phone isn't bricked yet. It's called "soft brick" but it's still recoverable.
If not, you have to buy a device called JTAG (expensive option) or build you own small "Jig" device (cheap option), following some guides you can find on Google. That will "resurrect" your phone. Good luck

As you said, my phone should be soft-bricked because it can still go into download mode.
But I can't revive it from flashing any stock rom via odin.
So it seems hard-bricked.
should not use rom manager if still using stock rom. especially in the rom manager menu choose reboot into recovery. do not do this you will galaxy mini hard brick. This is my experience. but if you still can get downloads in flash mode can be through odin. but if you can not get into download mode . take it to the samsung service centre
This is my experience

It's not a 100% sure solution. Only a few had a problem worth to use it in our device. In my knowledge, most of them succeeded to get in to the download mode(That's not assuring you will). :fingers-crossed: Keep your battery fully charged by any other methods.
You can try it yourself. You can get one for just $1.6 from here or build one using this guide

Thank you!, i will try to buy one, i just did not saw any video in youtube describing my problem i think its just full brick and can't be fixed
nope. not turning on was full brick, u need unbrickable mod (UBM), jig for error entering download mode with 3 button combo or adb
n is it really brick? try charge it, juz plug da fone n leave it for 2 hours n boot it after that
n for ur info, error in flashing will result in middle or softbrick, if doesnt even turn on after flashing something with odin, then its not i9000 as flash i9003 with i9000 rom will result in full brick (which mean u need UBM for this problem)
