Hi. I have rooted my p1000 and will install a jelly bean rom . I would like the most stable one, any ideas?
then I have another question. In rom manager. Under clockwork mod recovery how do i know what model to select? There is galaxy tab att and t mobile and so on?
thanks for any help
I looked at get.cm but what is the diffrence between p1 and p1c?
Christian
your is a p1 if it is P1000.
The SGH-T849 (T-Mobile), and SGH-I987 (AT&T), P1000R (Canada Roger), P1000M (Canada Bell), P1000T (Australia Telstra) are all p1
p1c is a cdma devices such as SPH-P100 and the SCH-i800.
There are also p1n and p1l that are sold in Latin America, that has slightly different touch screen driver and one has tv tuner.
Thank you alot. So it dosent matter what i take of them under clockworkmod or will i have to look if my is for example a p1000T?
no, just choose p1
I never use rom manager though.
But all that are p1 can use the p1 builds.
When i boot with volume up and power, i have wipe all data and do on but i dont have install from sdcard? I just have sdcard: update.zip, i cant chanhe that? What is wrong here? Perhaps i can install the rom direct from rom manager instead?
I thought you have clockworkmod recovery.
What version it says.
If not version 5.x you better of follow my signature to overcome links.

When i get the latest cm for p1 i get an error saying:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed.
What can be wrong here?
To cwm recovery to work on p1000 i found out i need a kernel with cwn on. I found out that overcome kernel v4 for p1000 got this. I have odin installed on my computer but i cant find this kernel. Someone knows where i can find it? Cwm om rom manager will not work on p1000 i found out.
Thankful for help

Someone please?

To avoid problems, use overcome full method. Read the guide there.
Use gb stock safe package, and the Odin that is in the package.

Hello,
Guys I have korean model SHW-M240S of Samsung Galaxy ACE.
I want to install CWM, i have tried to install the recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip file from this thread but its giving error when i try to install it from Recovery (something like incorrect version or not matching model s5830).
Can someone please help me or provide me working link of CWM recovery for my mobile SHW-M240S.
Thanks.
There are no mods for your model
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace.
before flashing that file you must first flash the offcial release of the cwm recovery for your ace
it was something like cwm recovery 4009
should work on your shw m240s
im using it well with no problems on my shw m240s

Thanks for reply, i will try this method.
The Korean Ace uses a different CPU and kernel.I highly doubt that flashing GT-S5830 firmware won't damage the phone hardware. Of course you can try but that will probably kill it.
The recovery however seems to be the same as 5830,so you probably can use 5830 recovery's safely.
try installing CWM 4, that might work, but please, no custom roms, afaik, no one is developing a custom rom for that model. dont take your chances.
Hi is it possible for me to update my Samsung galaxy tab
Model: GT-P1000
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000JXJM2
Kernel version:
2.6.32.9
[email protected] #1
Build number
FROYO.JPJM5
You will install Kies on your PC before, And put your Tab connect to USB. Well you can update via Kies.
sorry for my bad English
Good luck
hi there are no updates available thinking of rooting it but have no idea how and if i can do it with my tab i want version 2.3 or later
makes restock rom, recommend the "GB_Stock_Safe_v5" from overcome
and download your latest version (same region) from sammobile.com then flash it
Maybe you must to un-root your tab but I'm not sure that make you can update.
Warning all your data will be lost.

Yes there are plenty of ways to update your device.
You can simply install Samsung Kies, connect your tab and update to official gingerbread (2.3) or you can install a custom GB rom (Overcome Rom).
You can also choose to install ICS (4.0) or JB (4.1), various flavors like AOKP, CM9, CM10 etc.
To get started on custom GB or any other custom rom you should first root/stock your device using the Overcome guide/rom. The original thread is Here but the links are down so you should get the guide and safe-restock/rom files from the mirrors here.
Everything you need to do is included in the guide. Once you have installed Overcome rom you will be rooted and have a custom rom/kernel, from there if y0ou want to go up to ICS etc you simply put the rom on your sdcard, boot into recovery and flash the desired rom.
For me better upgrde to overcome rom..its more stable and have native 3g call..

Well, to each their own preference.
I found overcome method for restocking/ cwm recovery install to be 100% solid.
The ROM itself, maybe I have grown out of it.
hi guys!!
first of all, I searched and found a lot of confusing information and I'm hoping someone can help me directly like this...
I have a rooted P1000 running froyo:
baseband P1000XXJPZ
kernel 2.6.32.9 [email protected]#1
build FROYO.XWJMK
I downloaded the SGT bootloader patch app found on xda and it says:
device: GT-P1000 european/international/unbranded
bootloaders - signed!
signed: PBL, SBL, kernel
not signed: SBL_backup
assessment: can only flash signed firmwares
and it gives me the option to patch bootloaders
if I understand correctly, I can flash cf-root kernel via odin and get cwm and then flash any rom?
if so, what about the bootloaders and the right cf-root to download?
most of all, my goal is to upgrade my tab...the tv out function is a must for me so the ics and jb are out, right? if I understand right, the tv out feature doesn't work with them?
what about gingerbread and honeycomb?
what to do?
please help and thank you for reading
Honeycomb sucks! Jelly bean better!

I saw that, but that doesnt answer my questions..
does the tv out work?
how do I get cwm?
and is it safe to do what it takes considering the model and the specs I wrote above?
I don't know if tv works.
For instructions about cwm go to cyanogen mod wiki!

thanks for that
do you know is it safe considering the bootloaders and froyo on my tab?
in your other thread you read about using overcome method.
The GB stock safe v5 rom files contains GB bootloader.
By flashing that you shall have GB bootloader and from then on you are good.
It is still best to upgrade to GB before installing CWM by any means you choose (although overcome kernel on top of GB stock safe v5 is the safest and sure way).
And please don't run the bootloader patcher once you are on GB based.

great, thanks!
one more thing, do I have to patch the bootloader first with that app while on froyo?
and if I run that method, I'll have GB on my tab, right?
is it stock GB or a modified rom? I'm asking to see if the tv out function will work...
thanks again
You should be able to flash gb without patching.
Because the package is a stock gb Rom jq1 ( Italian).
You may want to go all the way to overcome Rom 4.1 by following the complete guide to the end.
That will be a modified Rom and tv out working.

this is AWESOME, thank you so much for your help priyana!
I just rooted my old T-Mob tablet with the one click root method .... there is no custom recovery yet ... can I put ......[ROM][10-04-2013][AOSPA 4.2.2][GSM] ParanoidAndroid 3.15 or any AOKP jelly bean on it ? and how?
you can, but you probably want to forget about those rooting(which makes no difference) and putting custom recovery on it.
That path is fraught with failures.
The reason is, recovery is part of a kernel in this tab. If you find a custom kernel that has custom recovery, likely it is not a suitable kernel for your android.
Just follow my signature to use Overcome method.
Follow the guide from page 7 or 8 onward.
It guides you on flashing a Samsung GB stock rom that works with overcome kernel.
From there you can use overcome's CWM recovery and flash the Paranoid ROM.
Okay so stock rom with an overcome kernal/recovery and from there I can go into the recovery like any other CWM and flash the paranoid rom? Btw my tab is still in Froyo lol

Yes.
And the guides will help you move to GB (Gingerbread) first.
